I can't understand why you don't consider it a human life. How far along into it looking like a human being, having a heartbeat, having brain waves, do you still not consider it a human being? Is this just because it can't talk, and hasn't learned the symbology of language yet? Then we're "safe" to say it's not yet a human being? I know a number of people who being completely dissatisfied with the only electable options offered chose not to participate in a process that had NO CHANCE to reflect the political views they hold. Until the 2 party strangle hold is broken, and/or the major parties revamp the primary system so that individuals with REAL leadership ability are selected as candidates, it is likely a vast majority of the non-voters will continue to decline to participate as 'lip service' to a system that does not, will not, and cannot represent them ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

hmmm i answered the wrong question then... during student status? .6ish under a 288... at 30 jumps 1.1 on a Sabre 190.. isnt the point (for the canopy portion at least) of student status and early jumps... to develop your canopy skills to the point you can land a 1:1 safely? seems like many people spend a long time developing/reenforcing bad habits under lightly loaded canopies.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

and therein lies the problem with democracy... do you really want to take a trip on the bus or plane who's driver is elected by the diverse and often combative group riding inside? we are about to... yet again.... fortunately the completely clueless eliminate themselves.... no its simply a political fact. America has been locked into the 2 party system for a long while now. A vote elsewhere has no positive effect on who will actually run the country for the next 4 years, it simply "sandbags" the major party candidate you would/might vote for if there were ONLY 2 choices offered. the fact is that no independent party has any chance of getting its national candidates elected because they are simply not given equal exposure with the majors. Their message, platform and candidates are completely unknown to the public the only time they voter sees their names at all is on the few states ballots were they are included as an 11th hour 'gimme'. Without national attention and media exposure all throughout the year(s) preceding an election, no alternate party candidate has any chance of winning. The system as it exists today is fundamentally flawed, the world (and therefore the US) was a much different place when more than 2 political parties had any real chance at winning a national election. i have voted Libertarian in the past and will most likely continue to do so, but it is sadly a protest vote more than an influence on who will actually sit in the oval office ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i voted Kerry, Mcain and straight Lib/Ind on every choice where offered.. which left the entire back side and 40% of the front empty... those races have little effect on my life in any real manner and i am largely ignorant of the issues and characters involved in them... IMO even allowing someone to vote who has no idea of the candidates platforms and issues involved is stupid.. how many people do you think are elected by those who are simply 'filling out the slots' and voting the party line because they are Dem/Rep but couldnt define a single position for any candidate in the races they are influencing? the ignorant shouldnt be allowed to vote... but there is no way to enforce that ideal and remain a democracy... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

same thing in the polling place in PHX i went to... and of the 60ish people in line i'd say none were over 30 (except me)... 3 of them i talked to seemed reasonably well informed (hard to judge in a 10 min conversation)... and very cute apparently the "VOTE or DIE" message is getting lots of press, many news polls are reporting that as the comment most heard from younger voters ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
