Ek het dit al gesien gebeur met 'n ou by Wonderboom, ene Andrew Bailey. Was lank gelede, kan nie onthou wanneer nie. Hy het vir 'n week daarna geloop soos Long John Silver na 'n lang shoot. -- ZZZzzzz....

Very often people who struggle to get it right in the beginning end up doing it better than anybody else (as with so many other things in life as well). So hang in there! En sterkte met jou progression - dit raak erg lekker hier van 10 sekondes af aan. -- ZZZzzzz....

You should move to Cape Town, South Africa. The weather is getting better for a braai every day now -- ZZZzzzz....

Naah - yarhong, very hong here. It's 150 jumps to your nearly 1500 posts, yielding a ratio of 10:1 (or 10 posts per jump, which is not that bad actually) -- ZZZzzzz....
-
I have 53 posts and roughly 300 jumps (300 and something I think) That yields a post/jump ratio of 1:6 (or about 0.16 posts per jump) What's yours? -- ZZZzzzz....
-
You are right. You have 207 jumps and 875 posts, yielding a post/jump ratio of roughly 4:1, which is lower than the average methinks. -- ZZZzzzz....
-
Cease and desist worrying about it. There are guys on this forum with over 2000 posts and under 25 jumps That's a post/jump ratio of nearly 100:1. I'm sure some have even higher. -- ZZZzzzz....

Thinking of you, Debbie. Blue skies and good vibes. -- ZZZzzzz....

I'm also not qualified to give advice - except to say take technical advice only from qualified people

Well, it went more or less the same with me. Of the original 37 who did the FJC with me I am the only one still carrying the torch. It sticks to some people more than most. However, I believe that in 90% of people there is a skydiver waiting to emerge. You just have to get through the tough part first. Skydiving is kinda like a coconut. Tough, hairy and porno on the outside and milky and sweet on the inside. Don't give up. The ability to consume copious amounts of alcoholic refreshment is a skill to nurture. The next step is to be able to find your head the next day, screw it in and get in the plane. Good luck! -- ZZZzzzz....

It's a missile, yet it is made out of meat. Get it? Kinda porno. Actually I think my screen name suck, everyone just calls me by my given name anyway. -- ZZZzzzz....

The key issue is respect for others religious beliefs (as opposed to moral values - for which I show scant respect). I'm not even particularly religious, but - sorry, my vote on this one is against. I am however in favour of exhibitionism! The more, the better! Yeah! -- ZZZzzzz....

Scratch, You never said a truer word. Have experience? -- ZZZzzzz....

To Scratch and Debi: Sheesh man, d'you guys think it's fair to carry on with your courtship rituals on this thread? Get a room! -- ZZZzzzz....
-
Naah - Scratch is a gentleman, and quite cute as well. In fact, if I was a girl, I would have tried to snare him

Haha, yes that's true - so much that I even married one! -- ZZZzzzz....

That it is for sure! What city is your DZ in? Do you have any information about the skydiving club in Tashkent? I will be in Tashkent in December, and want to jump there if I can. (added this after reading Scratch's post: Ferdi also waves hello from South Africa) Blue skies, -- ZZZzzzz....

You could also have elected to stomp, even if you were barefoot. For spiders on the ceiling I usually use a bungee, shot off the pointy-finger using the standard method. -- ZZZzzzz.... -
But, Scratch, that is the part where any true gentleman just smiles and looks away bashfully. Looking like a cat that stole the cream is entirely optional. -- ZZZzzzz....

Twitching on the floor with laughter, like the proverbial gecko's tail -- ZZZzzzz....

Yes, maybe I just didn't speak to the right people. I just can't imagine a world without cutural diversity. It would be like a world without beer.
-
Pardon my ignorance, but - in a nutshell - who is she? -- ZZZzzzz....
-
No, no, 1000 times no. I like Americans, but please oh please do not let us become one LARGE family. I like cultural diversity. In fact, I met my wife in a country that could hardly be further from my home if it tried. And I live in South Africa, the most multicultural place on earth! (which is not, contrary to popular belief, the capital state in the United States of Africa - as most people in the US seemed to think when I was there last year) So I know what I'm talking about. I have quite a few American friends - but please, no unicultural world for me! -- ZZZzzzz....
-
True, I didn't even see that one! -- ZZZzzzz....

That is the idealistic view. I wish it could be that simple - unfortunately it is not. There are many single corporations in America that are more powerful economically than entire countries over here in Africa. What makes you think that the interests of any country here could ever be placed on the level of the interests of one of those corporations? Let alone that the interests of any country here could compete with that of the US, for example. No, we each will have to work for our own place in the sun, and hope that superpowers like the US see the bigger picture - and look out for our fragile planet. It is actually a hot topic over here with the World Summit on sustainable development due to start in Johannesburg next week. But then again, which world summit influences the world the most? Therein lies the answer Actually, the answer is: Anything organised by the WTO would have an influence. -- ZZZzzzz....
