  1. Busted! :) Performance Designs Factory Team
  2. Considering they've been the party of No, I don't know how that can happen. Now, if they all get voted out because The People want something different - that's fine (same can be said if Romney wins, if that's what the people vote then that's the direction we've chosen as a nation). 3. God, if it exists, is fundamentally tied to the physical. After all they supposedly created it. You're assuming, incorrectly, that everyone seeks to find the same as you in religion. It may be irrelevant to you since you chose to keep a narrow view but those of us who seek greater spiritual understanding cannot ignore the physical world and knowledge/understanding thereof. Blindly following faith/feelings even when presented with facts contradicting those beliefs, is foolhardy IMO, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  4. I don't think you can use the Theory of evolution against God. No one can make that claim. Of course you can't use it FOR God either. The religious problem seems to arise when science refutes fundamental religious 'facts'. I'm certainly more inclined to believe science over religion. The Dalai Lama has a great view on the seemingly conflicting worlds IMO. Granted, it's in reference to Buddhism but I believe the approach still stands: Performance Designs Factory Team
  5. Because the World event is earlier in Russia next year. To ensure the 2013 Team is chosen from the same year as the Nationals - this had to happen. Performance Designs Factory Team
  6. I thought this was fun to watch, and informative http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3GagfbA2vo Performance Designs Factory Team
  7. Agreed. A better approach would be to not make the stupid statements to begin with (in reference to the first statement Romney made). Performance Designs Factory Team
  8. And now I'm locking the thread. Chuck check your attitude as well. Performance Designs Factory Team
  9. I'd hardly call it insignificant in terms of their campaigns. The biggest mistake either candidate can do is underestimate the other. All Romney did was box himself into a corner with the statement. Either he was a terrible opponent, or he as full of it (turns out the latter was true) Ron, as usual you're missing the point (and incorrect too). It's not 'only' on PBS, a simple google search will show you a dozen sites reporting it. Here, let me help you http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Romney+not+watching+speech The fact that he made the first statement was stupid, and when he did I called BS on it. As usual, Romney proved me right. 11. Not nearly as funny (to me) since it's just pro-x statements. Nothing wrong with it either though. Still, I ask, your point? Performance Designs Factory Team
  12. Word play on a funny saying. Your point? Performance Designs Factory Team
  13. Again, a problem on both sides (often demonstrated in this small microcosm of a forum). Price of freedom is having people you disagree with carry equal weight - regardless of the rationality of their decision making process Performance Designs Factory Team
  14. Agreed. I think there needs to be a level of trust in our leaders (or so appointed ones). That said, blind faith in anything, or anyone, is misplaced imo. Lots of good, smart people have bad ideas. No one is exempt from that. Blindly following is foolish. Of course, there are plenty of people on the opposite side of the isle to the President that hold the exact opposite mindset - definitely goes both ways. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  15. Good post. As always, the Daily Show hits the nail on the head. Performance Designs Factory Team
  16. I use a regular diving belt. It's cheaper, and just fine to wear around the waist. Mine only holds 20 pounds though, any more and you probably need a proper skydiving weight belt. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  17. I do the same. I've only ever had an issue with it 1 time. Performance Designs Factory Team
  18. The problem with feelings is that they are generally factually inaccurate. The earth feels flat - it's not. If you're in an aircraft in IFR conditions you can feel things are happening, that really aren't. To discount facts because you don't 'feel' they are right is doing yourself, and those around you, a disservice. Instead I would encourage you to inform yourself, educate yourself, and make rational decisions. While there's a lot of inaccurate info out there, there's also enough credible sources to put the pieces of the puzzle together yourself. You may not always like what you find (especially since it can force introspection and the evaluations of one's belief(s) - not referring to religion here). Once that happens the decision, as always, is to either recognize your error, learn from it and move on OR to bury your head in the sand singing "la la la la, I can't hear you". Personally I find the latter to be ineffective, as good as it may feel. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  19. Do you know how Wikipedia works? Wikipedia is not necessarily a source of facts. In fact wikipedia relies on the community to support/edit statements on it. So, if you have a conservative/liberal wiki page - you can be pretty sure it's going to be factually inaccurate, and biased since the community that supports it are going to enable their own agendas. Case in point, your conservapedia link. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  20. You can lead a horse to water.... Ron, just because (at the moment) the GOP has more "pants on fire" rantings doesn't mean anything about political slant, but rather that (currently) the GOP are just spreading more BS (note: Not saying the Dems aren't spreading BS either, just that currently their ratio is lower...I'm sure that'll change in time too). Yes, and that's a large part of the problem. People, regardless of side, often just believe whatever they read on the internet. It's becoming harder and harder to find accurate information in all the noise. Politifact, as Wendy pointed out, while not perfect gives context and the info as well as the evaluation of the statement. Something lacking most "sources" of information today. I would encourage you to seek better sources of information (than for example the wiki page you posted). Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  21. I honestly have no idea. I've never seen my openings deteriorate with line age (just with my shitty packing) :) Performance Designs Factory Team
  22. While always a concern (breaking in a turn) the lines are far, far more likely to break on opening. That said it did happen to Marat who, like Dave said, had extremely worn lines. I knew the line replacement time was drawing close, and tried to squeak one last comp out of them (Poor decision on my part in retrospect) but I attribute my breakage to older lines and also having 2 REALLY REALLY hard openings the day before. I think those openings were the beginning of the end for them. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  23. If I'm using your 'standards', yes. Thanks for reminding me why I try to avoid posting responses to you. It's a total waste of time and energy. Enjoy your day. Performance Designs Factory Team
