mind-messing is an essential part of editors' job description glad you've figured it out -
DVD burner switching from - to + -- Ever heard of that?
FeFe replied to steveorino's topic in Photography and Video
I think you ask a wrong question - it's not why does it start to record +R/RW, but why did it record -R/RW at all! - since according to the manufacturer site it works with +R/RW only -
I'm not a very current WS flier, but still I am more confident to jump Katana with a wingsuit jump than a Stiletto. I am loading Kat107 to 1,8 and never had a problem with a WS. I completely agree that If my Katana does behave it is a slow opening when I start moving my ass before the canopy is fully opened. I never had to use a riser input to tame an opening on Katana. If there is a constant problem check the trim - one of my Katanas lost 5 inches in outer lines in just 300-something jumps

change the polarity of your powerplug and try again? seriously - I've never heard of such thing happening does the burner spec'ed to run both + and -? what kind of cleaner did you use? did you try to clean it once again? curious... -
it makes folding and bagging less messy esp. with new canopies
-
it's pure voodoo but not rolling the nose (just making two 2 inch wide folds) did seem to speed up opening on my Spectre a bit

Russia - World Wing Suit Boogie and Competition
FeFe replied to ikenever's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Mi8 will not bring up 26 people (well technically it may but pilots would refuse it). Otherwise it IS a great aircraft for tight exits, and pretty fast too -
Thanks everyone - including those I did not PM

flash key is easier to see and easier to judge

anyone? Thanks!

get a sheet of paper, make a small hole in it (dime size or so) and hold it in front of your eyes (like a feet or slightly less away) find and object which is 5 (or more) feet away from you and look at it through the whole close right eye open it, close left eye most likely you will see the object only with one of the eyes - which is your dominant eye

Genesis old block 12 was almost pure freefly . Would love to see it on video of course, but for practical purposes transitions on say 7 will eat up all the advantages of the quick rotations - not to mention that I doubt 360s on booties will be faster than on good old belly .

it's a Russian 7cell by ParaAvis the closest comparison which comes to mind is PD Spectre nose is semi-closed, and I believe the tail is tappered slightly less than Spectre some info (Russian only) may be found here - but at least you can get an idea of the platform and the nose I jumped it only twice on occasion so can not say much I had a feeling that it had less glide and less power on flare than Spectre - but it's subjective

see above, it will violate the rules. could you do me a favour and check the make and model? I appreciate
-
that would definately work indeed, but - surprise! - from this year SCS5 4.3.1 (3) demands that The video recording, playback and auxiliary equipment used for judging FS, CF, AE and CP shall be of Digital PAL format.

At Malevsky Cup we needed to make a copy of each jump on DVD for judging, and then another copy on miniDV for the FAI. Double dubbing is a pain... I've already figured out that Firewire carries lots of 'service' commands both ways (that's why hubs do not work), but I thought in theory it could be possible to physically split the signal on the hardware level. Videoserver is an obvious solution of course.

almost every free encoder I've tried did suck big time it's not for free but Adobe Premier Pro has a build-in encoder which is quite good. Adobe Encore DVD is a powerfull DVD-authoring soft which converts avi to mpeg
-
good - small bad - small chips, sucks when light is low, does not accept CamEye (oh yes I'm a Sony man )
-
Anybody knows of a device to split a DV signal via Firewire? The task is to record digital signal from one camera on two (or more) devices at the same time. Firewire hubs designed for computer networks do not seem to work (they somehow do not recognise a signal from the camera).

Which team from the US will win the Malevsky meet
FeFe replied to GQ_jumper's topic in Relative Work
Let's be realistic - there are only three teams at Malevsky (except for the US four) which may post above 20: 1. Sinapsi (but they won't receive medals since Pete can not officially compete for Italy for at least this year, they will jump as a guest team). 2. Russia (which I doubt) 3. Belgium -

France has a new team this year (and they don't participate in Malevsky 2005). Russians have a new team member. There is no way I underestimate them, but I personally believe they will need some time to get back above the 20 point mark. Agreed. Kurt will be on the spot providing live coverage. -

that's a pretty accepted standard right now I thought At least for the last five years (Corowa 1999 was the last world meet with 3d place scoring under 20) -
we are a competition 4way so sure I do - but it was not the camera which was kicked...

no screen or black screen? does it see the camera at all? if not there is a chance that your Device Control settings in Capture window might be wrong (I don't have an NTSC tape to play with at the moment, so it's all hit and miss...) good luck
