  1. we shoud write a petition to Kurt demanding to stop using stupid RealXtreme
  2. Extreme.Ru and Black Cat both posted 44
  3. FAI does not have an official record category for average - only highest score in a single round
  4. I don't have a sheet I think there were no busts it would have been eligible if the sneaky French did not already score 42 couple of years ago and yeah, Vladimir-the-twin (Mr.Green) is a monkey
  5. and we have a new unofficial record of 24.1 average :))) WOW!!!!!!!! I mean - f*@ing WOW!!!!!!
  6. sorry to get you back on subject but Russian Panthers have just posted a sweet 42 in H-O-G-9 round of the Russian Nationals we are on weather hold 9 rounds, Panthers lead with 217, followed by Black Cat at 210 Kurt will have the draw and results shortly after the end of the competition
  7. HMA I have two identical Kat107s one has a new HMA set, another keeps original microline set (350+ jumps) two different animals (and I definately prefer the HMA one ) original set went out of trim by several inches in less than 300 jumps
  8. Alena is a kick-ass flier, former Russian Champ in Open, does a great job in Russian 8way
  9. if there is an anti-shake problem (which I can not comment on because I have not jumped HC3 yet, maybe DSE will bring us some light on that), it's nature is very different from the 'old' 900 series shake problem I believe the 900 series had an optical stabilization, HC3 uses electronics
  10. Yes you will have issues. Yes format does matter when recording to miniDV. No there is no magic 'flick to PAL' button. Until you plan to dedicate solely to NTSC projects get a PAL cam.
  11. Hey James can you give us some light on that? I'm especially curious about the camera they've been using for the mug shots - I get an impression that it was attached right to the nose-piece of the helmet

    What if

re block 2 - according to the judges I was speaking to, going around is legal - since the relative rotation between the donut and the single flier keeps being 360 degrees, it does not really matter if the piece rotates or the flier goes all the way around (plus, depending on the video, sometimes it's just hard to tell the difference)

    What if

those who dared to try keep on regretting it get video of Croatia 2004 if you have a chance and have some good laughs True. But let me share with you my favorite quote by one of the most respected FS judges Klaus Wellens - "judges are not stupid". They will notice . Also true in your scenario - but it's still a bust because you don't rotate pieces, and even the most creative cameraflier won't help you It's a funny way to cheat . I'm not a judge (despite what Bill thinks ) but I would suppose you could get away with it. Even though it does not make any sense timewise. I will ask and get back with it.

    What if

Bust. Plus, as mentioned above, I seriously doubt it will be faster (at least with block 1). Before Zipper-Star became a bust-collector for center-crossing, couple of teams tried to do some serious cheating with degrees of rotation (with a help of some creative cameraflying ) - it somehow worked for one meet (Malevsky 2003), but became an matter of special judges' attention in Gap 2003 and was busted. Hardly an omission though.
  15. Valery and his gang do a great job in Stupino breeding new birds with his demo fleet
  16. where this comes from? I believe HDV has the same tape-speed as miniDV
  17. catscap do wonders when applied on the surface of the lens however, when moisture gets inside of an un-vacuumed lens there is almost no practical way to fight fog during the jump what works for me is - a box which holds camera and the lens, with an UV filter attached to the top of the box (not to the lens) - that way you reduce the ammount of moisture getting inside the lens (and between the camera and the lens) - I keep my lens in a plastic bag with moisture-absorbing celica (sp??) gel - after jumping on a humid day I treat the lens with a hair-drier squeezing moisture away with this set-up I almost never have fog problem inside the lens
  18. unique to +RW but remember the cost of media itself (+RW disks cost almost twice as +R's)
  19. any Sony without docking station or is it a loaded question?
  20. First 'new' Maubeuge should win Nationals (which I doubt they won't ) and second the French Federation should allow them to jump in Germany
  21. Element was released July 2003, Icon was officially released (after Aerodyne secured FAA TSO C23d approval) December 2003, though the rig was displayed as early as summer 2003.
  22. the latest figure I can find is from 2002 - 5 769 010 civilian jumps in 33 FAI reporting countries (made by 357 155 jumpers) since not all countries comply reports I would see 7 000 000 a realistic figure
  23. I would go for cutaway-reserve right away first of all, the gaps between wings and body on all of my camera suits are not big enough to pull a PC through second, in a theoretical situation of such thing happening - I imagine it will be quite tricky to grab and disconnect the RSL shackle which attaches the wing quickly RSL shackle won't release under tension - it needs some slack I believe there will be quite some tension on the wing in freefall with a mess of a bridal around it
