Kelly, I think that is a great idea!!!! Soeone else on this forums was saying somthing similar and also to emphasize that your handles aren't necessarily going to be the same place as on the ground. I think that most of us realize that handles will move in a MAL, but why wait until you have one to find out where they can be? BTW, welcome back!!

Sebazz1, where do you jump? SkyDance in Davis does either the AFP or AFF (they call it TAF and AFF). I couldn't say how what percentage is doing what, but it seems most are doing TAF http://www.skydance.net/sd/aff.htm

Andrea, I've helped a friend change hers and they are a pain to get closed again. trying to get the loop closed again can be a real pain. I've been able to kinda POP the ball (or whatever) in, but most of the time they pop out someplace and you're crawling all over the floor trying to find it

I did AFF as well and am glad I did. One thing I was noticing with the TAF was that people would do the 3 tandems and then transition into AFF L4 with only the 1 JM. NOw I am no where near being an expert on this, I am only commenting from my experiences. IT seemed that (at least the TAF L4's ) that I was on the same loads with had LOTS of problems maintaining heading (heard of lots of spins, arching problems, etc) and landings. As background, I had done 2 tandems before starting my AFF, so I have experienced the differences in flight. IMO, I feel that Tandem progression just gives a false sense of security. Flying a Tandem is just plain different. First off, you have a trained instructor ON YOUR BACK who has a helluva lot of control over flying. You can have absolute horrid body position and still maintain heading. Also, the're a Drogue above your head to keep you belly to earth (and slow you down), and the gear is just plain different, (Bigger, slower, again, someone else who has control over flying the canopy, and yes I know they let you control it). And the worst part (AGAIN IMO) is that once you do the 3 TAF's, you transition RIGHT AWAY to 1 JM. MY last Opinion is that it would be much easier to learn (and safer) for the student if they transitioned into an AFF L3 where you have the 2 JM's who let go of you.

Yeah, I officially graduated on my 50th jump. I think they just didn't want to drive all the way to the Barn :) No seriously, we were doing hop n pops and trying to bomb a target with flower bags. The first jump, I couldn't even get the damend bag out from my jumpsuit and my new altimeter was saying I was at 0 right when I was starting my crosswind so it threw me off. And Yeah, I kinda figured to just stay out in the Brown spots n keep outta everyone's way :)

Hmmmm.... I'm not following this conspiracy theory. UBL makes a video confessing to prove he's innocent? I think that the US needs to come clean and put all the evidence on the table. Where'd this come from? Who'se possesion has it been in? What other evidence do they have? Another question, How the heck were they able to smuggle a handicapped Sheikh in AND out of Afghanistan without us knowing?
