I am getting used to a Caravan again after being spoiled with CASA's in Florida. I must say that it is a lot of fun though. A little longer on the ride up but it still gets you up there and that is better than down here!

I heard there was a death and I have some friends there because I jumped there for awhile and I haven't been able to reach anyone. Anybody heard anything? Bad weekend for accidents. Can you hear me now? Good.

With all the pictures and the sharing of experiences it makes me realize that we are all human and not just funny quotes on a screen. I mean we saw what Betsy Barnhouse looks like. It's just not the same anymore. I always thought she was a older gray haired fairy sprinkling pixie dust all over the place and that is so not her!

Jump number 68 on December 24th, 2001 in Lake Wales, Florida. Completed a four way RW tracked away and deployed at 3k. Lines began to twist like crazy from the toggles up to the canopy. The slider did not come down. I began to kick and twist the lines to no luck. I could not control my canopy and I was getting ready to go into a cloud . I looked at my altimeter and I was at around 1800 feet. Grabbed red, grabbed red, pulled red, pulled red. Nice red PD R 160 over my head. I saw my friends following my main and freebag and they brought it to me when I landed. The Riggers at Lake Wales packed my reserve within two hours plus they gave me a demo just like I had so I could get up on the next load. Doesn't beat Spy38W's stories though.

I now have a stable sit and am able to make 360's, etc. I jumped with someone this past weekend and he corked right underneath me. I saw it coming and back tracked out of the way before hand to avoid a collision. It happened so fast I was lucky. Question, what should I do to figure who is safe to jump with and who is not. If it is a rw jump I have enough confidence to jump with people just off student status but with freeflying it is a different story. Being new to a DZ and to freeflying I asked others (instructors) who are a good freefliers but some of the people out there have low jump numbers and think they are safe. Is there anything to ask or to look out for? Thanks, Chrome
