Where's the option for "I did a canopy transfer while the reserve was deploying so I wasn't able to see how the situation was going to develop?" ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

para-flite 375 canopy as a tandem main ?
diablopilot replied to mrbiceps's topic in Gear and Rigging
No it wouldn't make a good tandem main, it was never designed to be one. Why do you ask? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -

How do you think any of that will actually prevent a 9/11 type situation, huh? 9/11 was conducted through a pretty brilliant use of social engineering, and a couple box cutters. So all these billions spent, and civil, human, social, and Constitutional rights violations later, we have no box cutters on airplanes. Yeah, right. It's a smoke and mirrors show. It isn't stopping shit. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Why and how? That's the root problem. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Only a 1000 bucks? So the student still has to pay for video? How tacky. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Sigh. Ask any pro-swooper then, if you don't believe me. Sabre 2: quite long recovery arc, semi-ellip. Designed for intermediate to advanced jumpers, part of the PD swoop path: sabre 2 -> katana -> velocity. Stiletto: very SHORT recovery arc, making it dangerous for swooping, designed for advanced skydivers because of its roll and turn rate. NOT part of any sensible path to becoming a good (safe) swooper. Going from a stiletto to a katana isn't advised, let alone to a velo. But what do I know I'm sure with 125 jumps you know much better. If you're going to play that game, let me add this: With 10401 jumps, on 241 types/sizes of parachutes I know that you are talking out of your ass on this subject. Ian is spot on. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Anybody from Chicago missing a custom Spectre 150?

"Heard/Felt" a Delta 4 liftoff from Vandenburg a few years ago. My apartment was about 6 miles from the launch site. 3:30 am, "woke" me up, I was up and looking out the window before I was "awake". Amazing feeling. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Sorry man. I'm gonna say the contrail from the Phoenix to Hawaii flight theory is holding the most water for me. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Yeah and most likely 99% of people would have said that exact same thing before 9-11. I would have been one of them. Even with 9/11 factored in, it's STILL one of the safest forms of transportation, far ahead of, rail or road. People need to get their heads out. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Looks a little like a 90's PISA canopy called the "PinTail" IIRC. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

get your local airport to opt-out of the TSA
diablopilot replied to rhaig's topic in Speakers Corner
Awesome! :-) Now we need a couple airports to sack up and take on the liability and expense. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
How about the pill you give students? Why is that one ok? You know the one you use on your first time tandem students, where you tell them everything is roses, and take them for a ride? How you decide that it's not an instructional skydive, and they don't need to have any responsibility. Hey, Pot. The Kettle is calling. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

By buying the ticket you gave up a lot of your rights." Like hell it did. "I think security outweighs a lot of things." Like the First and Fourth Amendments? People need to start getting mad. Quietly mad. The type of mad that gets things changed, and brings the "big brother" attitude to it's knees. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. How long was your first jump course?

Who gave you a sour puss cookie? To the OP: The A3 is a good helmet if used as designed. It's an RW helmet, designed for flat flying and the speeds that flat flying sees. THe Hinges are nylon so once they have taken a hit from a visor being ripped open they should be replaced. There are two things that can help prevent accidental openings. 1) Makes sure when you close the visor to firmly seat the TOP of the visor under the lip on the helmet. 2 if you intend to use it for higher than belly fly speeds or anything other than flat flying orientations, put a 3 inch pies of gaffers tape on either side of the lower edge of the visor where it meets the helmet. If you want to judge my experience with that helmet, I've got more than 500 jumps on one, been selling it for 10 years, and was a tunnel instructor for 2 years watching people use them as well as flying them myself. Now there are other fullfaces I'd recommend for freeflying over the Oxygen..... The Factory Diver, the Gas, the G2. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Read the words carefully. Any implied meaning is yours. The words themselves can apply to immigrants and native born alike. They can also apply to any length of residence, from a day to a lifetime. Just as I had intended them. Do try to open your mind a bit, eh? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -

Racial Tension?! You've got to be fucking kidding me. What fucking country are these kids living in? Guess what their citizenship is?! School administration is way out of line in this case.
