    Why? Why should the USPA, give a toss about the quality of video or photos? The only part a rating should address in the safety of camera flyers and those they are filming with a particular emphasis on camera flyers in proximity to students, including tandems students. My opinion? The camera flyer requirements for Tandem video is already spelled out in the RWS manual. And it's not to much to ask that a video flyer on an AFF jump at least have the minimum free fall requirements an AFF instructor must have. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     New Zealand. If you're only taking a month, then go someplace you can cover a lot of territory easily. NZ has it all.     It's not a huge logical leap we're making here. The FAR's state that the unit must be maintained according to manufacturer's instructions.     Doesn't appear to be manufacturer specific. That one seems to be on a Wings, and I think it has been said Airspeed and FastTrax used RI's product, and IIRC Airspeed jumps Javlins, while I think FastTrax switched to Vectors. IMO letting ANY rig with real canopies into a tunnel is asking for eventual disaster. I've never seen it done. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     This reply is NOT to cast any aspersions on you. Last year, in Reno, Bill Booth stated that he did not submit any documentation regarding the SkyHook to the FAA as a Minor Change. Also, when I asked Derek Thomas ( also, last year in Reno ) about whether he had submitted the SkyHook as a Minor Change ( I had noticed that they had added an inner top reserve flap to the Javelin where there had not been one prior ) and he said that they added the flap as a Minor Change saying something about it being there to 'control' the reserve bridle. People seem to continue to think that the SkyHook is part of the TSO'd rig; and I do not believe that it is. This is just to, hopefully, clarify this. Now, if I am wrong, I will gladly admit it. The above is based upon two face-to-face conversations that I had in Reno. JerryBaumchen Saw you mention this before.     You work for someone, right? DO they tell you who to vote for, what hobbies you can have, what you can read, or view, or better yet what you can say in public? No. Because that would be both illegal and immoral. Jan's personal life, and BOD life are separate entities and if a prosecution argument singled her out, then she had every right to answer it on her own.     Live my life by this rule...... Had an aircraft emergency during my PPL training, CFI took the controls and I calmly helped by watching and reporting gauges. Afterward the adrenaline kicked in, and we both calmed down. Afterward she asked why I was so calm. I said (and believe) "What good would come from panic? That's what you do after, when you're safe again and need to deal with the extra chemicals." ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
