    That's right. Base jumpers jump from 400 feet. NOT skydivers. And you don't need an airplane to base jump. This would be classified as a skydive not a base jump due to the use of an airplane. Why not just get a crane and jump off that if they are so intent on doing this? Or a tethered balloon?     Being a good person to YOURSELF is first and foremost, and does pay off. If you hold to your values and truths, you'll be ahead of someone who doesn't. The reward is not monetary, it can't be measured, but it is what allows you to sleep at night. Because humans are animals, one can not assume they are going respond any different than animals when placed under the same stresses. As the world becomes more populated, and resources are spread more thinly, people will instinctively do what is needed to secure their "piece". There is no "karma, or justice", simply reality. Eventually the "justice of nature" will eliminate the human race as the resources get too thin, and even then live will still attempt to survive. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.     Nothing wrong with buying new gear right off, it's what I did. It's more expensive and you'll loose more in depreciation, but if you've got the money to play with (and that's what money is for, right) then make yourself happy and buy new.

    They will if you teach them those things, and it is quite possible, to teach them in the 6 to 8 minutes a tandem spends under canopy the first jump. I do it just about every tandem jump. They do learn, and many do remember. Some learn the what is being taught the first time, and some need to be refreshed a few times, but they all learn, even if its just the fact that they CAN learn how to do this. For the record, my fist time tandem students are involved in flying and navigating the canopy from as soon as I can gt the toggles to them, to somewhere between 1000 and 700 feet, and if they are particularly "switched on" we may land the parachute together.     IMO if you're not ready to skydive, you're not really ready for the tunnel. To often it is assumed the tunnel is a "safer" alternative, and it's not. It's got different dangers than jumping from an airplane, but it can be just as taxing on the body, and a collision with the wall can easily aggravate injuries that have not fully healed yet. It is important that you discuss any previous injuries with a tunnel instructor, preferably one with experience. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are.
