I'm really late posting to this thread but the general concensus seems to be to get rid of the fool since that what he is. I have found that people like him are often doing what he does to you because you havn't come down hard on him yet. You can tell him to shape up or get out and he will start to get his act together if he knows what's good for him. 2) every guy no matter who he is tells his buddies about his GF. These guys of his are probably wondering in their heads why on earth you havn't done some thing yet. Kelly: Isn't it nice to have your DZ in your back yard? My DZ is about 20 mins away (50 KM) 30 miles or so. It makes getting out there easy and watching others when you can't very painful. Who ever said comming down from a high was bad obviously never tried this. Magistr8

Why is htis such a touchy subject any ways. Sienfeld used to say it best. Why do women complain about men? They want them and need them yet they never know where to find them. Everywhere you are we have someone from our organization working on the scene. Any ways my point is as long as we are around they really have no reason to complain. Nature has semi-perfected a process to get them here and I for one am happy to see the boobies and chocolate. In the same place would nice sometimes too. I hear what you are syaing about needing the "age" and experience to pull off a good boogie. I gues the thing is that up here the DZ seem so lame to what I hear, read and see on the DZ's down at uncle sams place. On a completly lighter note I have come to the conclusion that it would be impossible for me to get 300-400 SD's in in one year. the DZ in only open for aboot 21 weeks of the year and and 4 jumps a week end there just isn't enough time to get things done. I could cut back on the dives but there is no need to really. I pay for my apt and all my bills on time. Own my own dodge dakota. All of my spending cash goes to skydiving. some people spend there money on golf and clubs I choose skydiving. All is well Who ever said comming down from a high was bad obviously never tried this. I have seen on ripley's belive it or not some video of a guy who survived a double mal and hit the ground hard. There was a bit of a bounce and then contact again. I posted on here before that I was an admin who was mobile and could easily sneak away for the day to make some jumps. This job offerers more pay and less demands on office hours logged. One of the beuatiful things of remote administration is that it can be done anywhere. I will still be in everyday to perfrom the nessasary backup and lan troubleshooting but I have to keep my priorities in order and get out to do what I really love and not what I need to do to make money. Footnote: I make more money than I hoped to be making and all of it goes back to the DZ. I am a poor man as a result. Who ever said comming down from a high was bad obviously never tried this. Kevin: You hit the nail right on the head with that last one. As I stated earlier the best position to land in is the fetal position but this is ONLY if you know you cannot land under canopy. If there is any chance that I can get something over my head before I die I would fight to make it happen. If I hit the ground in the process then I guess I failed but if I think even for a minute at 1000 or 500 ft that it is over then you must not value your life to the extent that I do. @ my local DZ we only have about 15 regulars and they are an older crowd about 27-33 years old and they aren't really big on organizing big boogies. In fact the first time I heard of a boogie was here on DZ.com (insert tear here). I would like to come down to cali and get involved in some big ways and jump from the otters. When I say blow that is the one thing jhonny depp was missing. Sure he can go to columbia in a plane and bring back cocaine but was it really worth his while? No. If you were really a ball busting drug dealer you would 1) jump from the plane and demand that you only pay a fraction of the gas since you are not using it all. 2) obviously you would have your hired goons pick you up at the local DZ where all others are afraid to venture due to folk lore about the "crazies" on the tarmac. 3) and lastly you can always send the drugs down in their own specialy designed chute for a various assortment of narcotics. The best position for any sort of impact to your body is always the fetal position. All of your major organs are in this case somewhat protected but would still suffer from blunt force trauma. And I agree if your LZ is close enough that the rigger is sure to be out there watching the dives, it's worth 10000 points for style and accuracy. I had a great weekend and came on here looking to ride the wave and now the only thing i'll be riding is the ambulance to the hospital for an inspection for dry heaving over the last 20 mins. Does three years in the sport have some sor of significance? Personally I can see myseld doing this for many years to come, easily into my 30's at least. Is there any stats to look at fot turnover rates? Who ever said comming down from a high was bad obviously never tried this. Magistr8

Since almost everyone here has more skydives than me you all probalby know what works well at a DZ and what you would like to see improved upon at you DZ. I really want my DZ to expand so we can get some more people out and maybe in the future some better planes. Lisa: When I said that people at my DZ didn't charge for repacks of the reserve I didn't mean that because you charge you are a fault for anything at all. In fact 25 dollars to repack a chute is very fair and when I start to travel around doing dives this year on my own I would be happy paying that 25 bucks. I am still agreement with most everyone that safety should be key not how much money you are willing to spend. I have never used my reserve yet but have seen others on my loads have to deploy and it is scary as hell. Watching your buddy get pulled up when the main opens and then fall past you only to see him open the reserve in time really gives me respect to those who pack those reserves.
