I love the sport and know the risks. It is about the freedom and closeness of the groups that does it for me. To my friends that don't do it they always think that death will come every sat. Getting the rig is exciting and something that I know i'm goign to have to get soon if I really want to start working on my FF and RW skills. As for going every spring, It is because I don't have my own equipment and it is too expewnsive to jump without it if I go elsewhere. Having a family that likes to travel a lot I have had plenty of opps to take the dive. 75 canadian dollars to jump in the states in not appealing. What I might do is buy the rig and sell the main for a different one. Who ever said comming down from a high was bad obviously never tried this. Peter Rodrigues

I told some buddies at work that thy skydive season was starting out soon just the other day. When I came in to work the next day my boss sits me down and asks me if I really wanted to work here anymore? He told me that having such an unpredictable hobby would not go well for some one trying to move up in the company. I knew there were stereo types but I think this is just getting stupid. the javeling container has a crossfire main chute and a pd reserve. After reading some of the posting though I wondering what sort of things to look for when actually checking out the rig. Having not so many jumps to my name I personally like the feeling of freefall right now. The feeling of flipping and rotating is much more appealing right now that taking it slow on the way down. I dive out of winipeg and only have the opprotunity to jump for 6 months of the year. This makes the saving money for the jumps easy and the beer that much better when I get it. I need to find used equipment in my area to pick up and in a hurry. DZ opens in 2 months and I need gear that I know will work. I have done the research on mirage and dolphins systems and they seem to be the preffered choice for newbies. Unfortuanatly I cannot try out these rigs to see how I like them. Have a good deal on a dolphin complete set for 1100$ Good deal or bad? Blue Skies Peter Rodrigues

I am joining this post pretty late it seems but it is still worth noting that in every case where an animal is involved people view as children or babies which is why they get so much sympathy when we see them abused. Ask yourself how mush sympathy you have for the animal who attacks a child and gets put to sleep or storm on to a soccer field and attacks it players. You'll probably find that we are very judge mental and will take the side of the victim. I hate the fact that animals are easy targets and that they so often become them. Blue Skies Peter Rodrigues
