There is no reason to visit Oregon. Just stay home. Go somewhere else. Lots of nice places to visit. We don't have anything worth seeing here. Everyone go back to your homes. The ppc I've flown is a two seater, three wheel Six-Chuter brand. It's great for sightseeing, but I don't think it would be comfy to jump from. Too many cables and strange parts sticking out everywhere. It would be possible, but tricky. There is a significant difference between powered parachute and powered paraglider. The PPC canopy looks like a basic 9-cell skydiving canopy. The PPG canopy looks like a 29-cell banana. I know nothing about the PPGs. First Class Citizen Twice Over -

I've flown a powered parachute and can't get enough. The safety isn't a problem (but I do other crazy things like skydive and basejump so who am I to talk?) I don't believe there is any other flying craft which lets you skim your toes in the trees, circle over a cow at 10 feet, and putter up to 15,000 for a good view before landing in your backyard. It's not like other aircraft. Comparing it by numbers is missing the point. It's so slow you could pace a bicycle and so maneuverable you could nearly use it to search for a lost contact lens. Here's a summary: it is possible to host a website -- sometimes. If you're the kind of person who enjoys playing with computers and it doesn't really matter if your website is available all the time, then it can be an entertaining and educational challenge. However, if you aren't a hacker, or the reliability of your website is important, then get a pro to do it. One more warning: many ISPs don't just block you if your site has large throughput. Many simply block outgoing web packets by default. There are clever and complicated tricks you can use even so, but then you're definitely in the land of hacking. Another warning: Nobody's even mentioned the responsibilities of email. Email hosting comes with web hosting and if you screw that up, you WILL get broken in to and turned into a spam factory. If that happens, you will get blacklisted and thrown out by your ISP. By the way, I own a web hosting company. First Class Citizen Twice Over

My boyfriend went to the Moab base boogie for the week so we're not having our Thanksgiving night post-feast party for the first time in 6 years. Instead I'm doing mountains of housework and minor remodeling. It's not the same, but it's incredibly satisfying to spend several days walking around the house just in underwear slopping paint on everything. I enjoy drinking white wines, but I do agree that it's a rare white that I enjoy with food. Mostly whites are overpowered by food (at least the way I cook!) so I keep a vast range of reds to choose from. It's a wild experience to pour a whole bottle of wine in a saucepan and boil it to syrup. The smell is heavenly but when you're done all 750 milliliters are compressed into 2 tablespoons of essence. The tenderloin was with a lovely italian red. What do you think I am? Besides, I'm not sure one would DRINK my sauvignon blanc reduction. It's a bottle of california white lightly sweetened and boiled down to two tablespoons of silky syrup. I drizzled that over the tender pears and fresh cognac whipped cream. Slim, for those of us who would like to be there even though we cannot participate, or who would like to come with participants, do you have a line on the best flights from the US? Or anyone else who might please repond as well. Currently the best I can find is around $3500/person which is prohibitive. January flights are around $800/person which is perfectly reasonable.
