I think we're all forgetting a suit against the state for not hand inspecting Brian's pilot chute will be thrown out as frivolous. The state regulates many activities yet does not hire minders to inspect the equipment on a case by case basis. The case lacks a credible connection between the claim and the truth. Almost five years into my wonderful relationship with Raist, I think five years would be WAY too short. In fact, there's no number of years that would be 'enough'. I don't understand the concept of "long term relationship." It's either a temporary relationship or a permanent one. I make my living building and maintaining e-commerce sites for companies. The stores I'm responsible for will gross over $6,000,000 in sales this year. I know exactly what goes on on the back end. I have no fear of buying from online stores if I can sense that they're run professionally. That doesn't mean only huge companies qualify. Quite the contrary. Ignorance or maliciousness? Some of each I suppose, but mostly it looks like a positive feeback loop insult fest. To be fair though, the initial post says Dwain was wearing a cartoon character costume and that set the stage for ridicule. I'm not sure it's fair to say they're exhibiting fear of death so much as fear of knowledge. Absolutely unbelievable. Over 1200 base jumps with never a broken bone or other injury. And a skydive is his last jump. What astounding challenge did he set himself that finally caught up with him? After watching him thumb his nose at the laws of physics for years, which one was too much in the end? The world was a more interesting place because of Dwain. My life certainly was and everyone else's who jumped was as well. Tonight's the night to watch some videos... RIP First Class Citizen Twice Over

The feeling is great, but the feeling is not the reason for a real committed relationship. If you're just after the druggie high of infatuation, then you're doomed to change out relationships regularly until you can't generate the feeling anymore. Then you spend the next 40 years being a a prematurely old lonely man. Infatuation isn't the REASON for love any more than flavor is the REASON for eating. Oh, I don't know. A base jump sounds like the perfect time to heist a 1/2 ton pipe threader. Just stuff it in your legstrap pouches, then 3-2-1-seeya. Actually, it would probably unbalance you and lead to bad body position on opening, so I recommend stealing both 1/2 ton pipe threaders, one on each legstrap. Got to stay balanced. That was absolutely beautiful! WRT to the FSP people, I think largely you'll find they're even more extreme (in the same direction) than you are. You do seem to have some strange cultural bigotries like this lycra fetish (or anti lycra fetish or whatever). I don't think FSP has a stand on that. But I think you'll get along overall.
