    I have a car that has a fair likelihood of crashing and exploding the next time someone applies the brakes. I think I'll sell it on ebay with the description "Looks and drives like new!"     In the course of my work I have many wineries for clients and talk with them about wine quite a bit. A common sentiment is that they'd rather the corked wines were REALLY bad because then they'd get sent back and replaced. The slightly corked wines just disappoint but get slurped down anyway.     Corked doesn't mean the cork came out. It means a bad cork fouled the wine. Corked wine smells bad which is why the waiter lets you taste the wine when he brings it. You're supposed to smell it to see if it has that characteristic "corked" smell which is like dirty feet. The cork popping out didn't hurt your wine as long as you get to it fairly quickly (like within a couple of days). On the other hand, your wine is cooked which might not be so great. On yet another hand, a $10 wine probably isn't subtle or delicate. Swig it and have a good time. First Class Citizen Twice Over

    Not in my experience. I just sold my own house this summer. The real estate agents I interviewed did comps and came up with very nearly the same recommended prices. Three weeks later I sold it without an agent for 115% of that price and didn't pay commission. After paying off all the loans, etc, I'm coming out with more than TWICE as much net as I would have.
