Actually, it's not that difficult. As soon as you start to turn, pop it into neutral. Once you're going straight again, brakes and then the gear that you want to use to go away. The PIT/VTI relies on the car stalling because you're going backwards and kill the engine. Easily dealt with if you know what you're doing. Sadly most police use a smash the car version instead of the very gentle version that we learned. One of the most common mistakes I see newer packers making is that they try to man-handle and over control the canopy. This is especially difficult to do with a newer zp canopy. When my canopy is reduced to bag width, I can hold it there with two fingers. It takes some getting used to, but it's not terribly difficult. Where are the Citizens for Dry Ground? I think that's more important than "quiet skies". Ballistic is (from what I've done with it) stiffer (depending on the grade used I guess). We used it to make re-enforcements. Also seemed to resist burning more (line burns and such) though that shouldn't be an issue with a rig... atleast I would hope not! I always told myself if I ever get into the RC helicopter/quad that I would make it an Arduino controlled one. The controller would feed commands to it and it would in turn relay the commands to the servos. If nothing more than for cheap insurance against me doing something dumb. Actually the maths is NOT that simple. What IS very simple is that, with the exception of the 7 or so pounds you were born with, every ounce on your body went in through your mouth. Goddammit I KNEW someone was going to say something about that.. Suppose its best to get these things over with. Yes, the cartoon character held onto the PC too long. And because of the oh so wonderful quality of pilots and instructors that sort of program puts out, congress raised the minimums to be an airline pilot. Think Colgan, Asiana, etc...... Slow down and remember the rules are there to build experience and save lives. This. Tandems aren't just another jump, while I've only got a few hand fulls of them, I wouldn't recommend it for everyone and surely not for someone that's trying to get there the shortest route possible. I can't figure out exactly what add it is, but there looks to be something with scorecardresearch and/or moatads.com It's actually causing a TON of issues with my computer (windows losing focus). I try to not always block ads, but this is making me turn on my blocker just to use the dang computer with dz open. Yep, she did an awesome job and even has become a member of the FAAST and spoken at several aviation events about it. "Miracle on Davis Street" I think they call it. She's got her Commercial and working on her CFI certificate now. I actually flew from Houston to Colorado Springs and back with her to build my X-C PIC/hood time for my instrument rating. Ironically, I know her from the Army. Her team was assigned to my unit to provide some communications support on my third deployment. With as many things that COULD happen to cause total loss of power and remembering that even A&P-IA's are human, I think that we're doing pretty good.
