Water in itself isn't bad for your phone. It's the impurities in the water that fuck up electronics. Salt water would probably short circuit the thing, even drying it out would leave salt deposits on the hardware and make it unreliable at best. Most home networks don't have devices popping on and off pulling addresses, so the router is likely just going to give them the same address. (at least from what I've experienced). Though, if she's getting connectivity to the internet and just having issues with one site, re-registering an IP probably wouldn't do too much. I generally use CCleaner to keep everything clean, but I don't use chrome. I know you may have to explicitly select remove Chrome data in the CCleaner settings though. Maybe a check box that needs checking. Either way, welcome back. I manage a library system and you'd be surprised at what IS allowed. Anyways, I'm willing to bet it's probably some ad that's causing your problems. Page being loaded for a couple seconds and then re-directing to another page sounds just like it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kJvSmlLC28 Try clearing your cache/cookies. That should at the very least get you a different set of ads. Weird. This starting working later, w/o an app upgrade. The problem must have been on the server end. FYI, there's an option (I think it may be disabled by default) to automatically download app updates in the background. While this probably wasn't fixed that way, it's still out there. WiFi Not sure if there is an issue with "over the air" upgrades on the iPhone 4, but I upgraded an iPhone 4 last night by plugging it into iTunes and it went just fine. You won't get a number of new features only supported by newer phones, but iOS 7 does install on it. AFAIK, you can't upgrade to iOS 7 over the air... If you updated to iOS 7 over Wifi, then you did an OTA (over the air) update. Back up your phone, restore it on your computer thru iTunes and restore your backup. That'll probably clear up your issues. How did you update your phone? OTA? Plugged into the computer? Simple way to test it, back up the phone (not sync, back it up) to the computer and restore it in iTunes (then restore your backup). Sometimes on updates something gets corrupt and you end up with a crappy experience. This was especially the case with OTA updates. Sounds like his phone is slower now. I think I had experienced this when I initially installed IOS7, but I attributed that to it being an early beta. It's been great on my iPhone 5 and iPad Mini. But the iPhone 4 is slow compared to either of my devices. Old 20u's are pretty good, I know many riggers that would fight to keep them. My first machine was a 31-15 straight stitch... it runs like, well like a sewing machine.
