But what if I want to know where to stow the crown lines on a ParaCommander, if using a bag not a sleeve? Or when I should file the centering tip off the male Capewell lug? That's when I need the old timers.

Cypres is designed to analize the data to see if its impossible for the conditions to exist, if it gets confused, it shuts off. Vigils and Argus' don't do that, so they can actually fire a little faster (less processing) Cypres takes a reading that says its met its firing parameters, waits a very short amount of time, and checks again... if its still meeting them, it fires. Lots of people doing those heli jumps last weekend were having their digi altimeters go crazy. Wear an analogue if you can... There was a vigil that fired on the ride too. Cypres will reconize that its not possible for you to be doing these events in freefall, so it will disarm itself/shut off. Thanks Paul, I knew it packs smaller, but didn't know by how much. "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message -

That is going to probably be a tight fit, I would think you could use the same bag though (just keep in mind, it will be more stuffed than before) Atleast it helps that the Pulse is a hybrid, so it should pack a little nicer. Bag is made for the container, so long as you're not trying to shove a canopy that is too big for the container, you should be fine. Whats in there now, what are you putting in it, and what size is the container? +1 Anyone gotten a talking to/ban for these "PAs"? They do seem more like public announcements. "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Custom container and new reserve- comes packed- repack?
theonlyski replied to skyflower_bloom's topic in Gear and Rigging
I'd rather assemble, inspect and pack it anyways... cypres or not. Well, not really... hopefully your rigger is good at the bulk distrobution on the V3-348... took me a couple tries to get it to fit right "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message -
Sorry, I left that out earlier. Patches that encompass a seam are considered Major repairs by the FAA's definition. See below from 8900.1; O. Major Repair. A repair that fits one or more of the following: 1)Might appreciably affect airworthiness by changing weight, balance, structural strength, performance, powerplant operation, or flight characteristics if improperly done; or 2)Is not done according to accepted practices or cannot be done by elementary operations. There are some other documents to support that also. MEL Could you give me examples of what you consider master rigger work, and what you consider senior work? With that, and the whole 'affecting the airworthiness' its not hard to argue that a patch or maybe even some mis-sewen velcro could easily affect the airworthiness of a h/c or reserve... so where is the line drawn? Just remember your 'Check canopy' Its there, its round, no more than 6 broken suspension lines, no holes bigger than your helmet. Kinda takin' away MY fun in this aren't ya! We all know that you're a big proponent for master riggers to do most of the work involved in rigging, so I would like to know what your opinion on what should be senior work, and what should be master work. Please, go into detail... something like patches are, patches that involve a seam are, line splices are... Thank you. Nah, I was too busy re-assembiling my Mirage... I did lay your main out and untwist it for her though. Come to think about it, I might have hooked the main up to the D-Bag and pilotchute, and the freebag to the reserve PC. Guess I did help. I needed the space for mine!
