FUCK HIM! Apparently they don't do them down here in FL... might have to get the ball rolling. The organizer I was talking to didn't seem to amazed by the SCR, but when I told her about the NSCSA, she changed her tune a little. I disagree. Even people that start to get the PLF could be doing parts wrong. I just sat thru a coach course last weekend, and they had the students (myself included) do a practice PLF (reasoning is you have to know how to do it, before you can teach it) myself and one other jumper were first time goes, the other 4 guys had to keep trying. They thought they were doing them right, but they weren't rotating or keeping their feet together. (Wish I had a video camera though!) Also, don't put pads on where you won't normally have the padding, you want to feel the roll and know what to expect, so the first time your 4th point of contact is coming in contact with terra firma, you know what it feels like and it doesn't shock you and distract you. Its a great feeling to be home and not have to worry about going back again, isn't it? "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message -
So...how much trouble can my friend get into?

I thought the pilot didn't need to have a commercial rating in order to fly jumpers for free. At most split the cost of fuel? "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message -

FIFY Its been done. Except it wasn't their rigs. Don't leave your rigs out unpacked past the beer light people! And they were jumped. Yup, and the thought of maybe the pin will go in, and it will hold, still doesn't give me a warm fuzzy seeing how people handle their gear. Wouldn't take much! I had a loop break once, on a Strong 304 seat rig, luckily the PC is on the other side from the pins (think racer style). Now (after a good discussion with Mike G) I try to close as much of the rig as I can by hand, without any cranking tools... preferably without using them at all. Ok, that's probably the funniest shit I've read in a while... how much beer was all that? That probably won't happen. There are PLENTY of jumpers that have absolutely no intentions of ever putting a camera on their heads, its not the same as the water training. You're not going to get a shitty spot and land in a pile of cameras. +1 It took me about 2.5 months to get my a-license. Learn to pack, go over your EP's, review the cloud cover limits, wind limits, pull altitudes. There's lots to do for students on weather days. You gotta just wait it out, or go to a different DZ that's clear. Even spaceland (in south houston area) was weathered in today... We're at the mercy of the weather, like it or not! I just moved somewhere that has better weather. Boogies are tons of fun for most jumpers, and can be pretty boring for unlicensed ones (atleast as far as skydiving goes) If you're going, go for the after hours parties and random fun, if you get some jumps in, great, but don't count on it. There are even boogies that they don't want students jumping at, there's alot of air traffic to contend with and they don't want students in the air at that time. Just curious, what do you do with the rigs without AAD's? "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Cypres loop cord is cheap (50 cents per meter), the tail on a plane is alot more expensive (not to mention the lives of the people on board). Sure, there are riggers that might not change them every repack, but I sure as hell do, and I think that most riggers do as well. Ok, go back to the regedit.exe and then browse down to: Computer HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SOFTWARE Microsoft Windows CurrentVersion Run What's listed in there? Also, go to the RunOnce folder and tell me whats listed in there. What site is it redirecting you to, and what messages do you get?
