I was really surpeised when I searched the subject. Chuck

Ah, I don't doubt for a second that the USa has a massive problem with Latino gangs and other gangs also. It does make me laugh though when some people criticise Pakistan for having a porous border which they have been unable to seal when the USA with all its technical and military might and funding is unable to do the same with their border with Mexico which should be arguably easier to seal. That said I feel sorry for you folk who live down south as from the outside the drug gangs look like they are causing a hell of a problem. Laredo, Texas for one. Yes, we do have a problem. About the only answer to me is, end the demand for dope. I'd really hate to see it legalized. Folks are tired of their homes being broken into and their land trashed with the illegal's junk. Chuck

One reason we don't hear about this is because of the threats on the lives of t.v and newspaper reporters along the border. Just a couple examples are El Paso and Laredo, Texas. I've spoken with Border Patrol Agents in my area who have told me of their apprehensions of Islamic people illegally entering this country while in the company of Hispanic gang members. That is what provoked me to do a search on the subject. Chuck

I wasn't trying to be ugly with him I guess, I read it wrong. I did a search of 'Latino gangs in the U.S.' and found a multitude of related news articles. I just picked the one I posted. Chuck

Come down here on the border... I'll show you proof. Just because you don't see it, it doesn't exist. I see. Chuck

I was being sarcastic. Chuck

Naw...everything is perfectly jive man. That's a relief to hear. Chuck

What's really sad is, so many people are so blase' about the sublect. They think that all this gang stuff is just in the ghettos and barrios. It goes much farther than that. Some of these gangs are pretty sophisticated. People need to get their heads out of the sand and toss the rose-colored glasses. Chuck

Just echoing what we have been told by some posters on this site. Sound pretty dumb and naive doesn't it? Yes, it does. You left-out nazis. Chuck

I happened to see this article and found it interesting and it does make a point. I also got a laugh out of your sarcasm. Am I to determine that you don't see a problem? It ain't Pedro and his little burro Pepe any more. Chuck

Thanks!! Chuck

http://www.newsmax.com/JamesWalsh/Hispanic-gangs-illegal-immigrants/2010/06/07/id/361237 Should we do something about this or just let 'em all in? Rushmc was kind enough to make it 'clicky'. Chuck

Phoenix school forfeits game due to female player
masterrig replied to jclalor's topic in Speakers Corner
What I do not understand is, why, women (girls) insist on playing on men's (boy's teams) and men (boys) insist on playing on women's (girl's) teams? Women wanting to join Mens organizations like Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis and so-on. There are women's hard-ball and soft-ball leagues and women's organizations. What is so wrong with all men or all women sports leagues or organizations? Sometimes, men like to go where there are no women! Chuck -
Fair enough. I was trying to point-out that in spite of some, there are more good ones. Never mind. Chuck

Worker injured during sex gets compensation payout
masterrig replied to wayneflorida's topic in The Bonfire
The way I see it, the woman was sent to that town to work. From what I gathered from the story, she was on her own time at the time of her injury. What she does on her own time is her business and not her company's. She also called the guy she was gettin' it on with and they had a 'date'. I just think it's nuts on her part to file the claim in the first place. Then again, she did 'win'. To me, it's just another case of someone getting someone else to 'pay' for their behavior and an un-willingness to accept responsibility for their own actions. Chuck -

Since she's claiming to have been 'at work... She should've been fired for for 'fuckin' off' on the job! Chuck Bullshit... We've all been fucked while at work. Hers was 'willingly' ours was more along the lines of 'forced' and no grease! Chuck -

I like what you said! To me, the League has a big part of the blame for allowing these ugly hits to continue throughout the play-offs. It started with Shanny, not coming down hard on Shea Weber for his slamming Zetterburg's head against the glass. Also, the inconsistancy in penalties. The refs also, need some 'refresher' courses in their job. I fully understand the fact that hits are a part of hockey but like you said, there needs to be a distinct line drawn on them. Chuck

I've seen worse, in the past, especially at play-off time. This year, I think, the 'flood-gates' have been opened because of the slap on the wrist that Weber got for smashing Zetterburg's head into the glass. This seemed to have sent a message throughout the League that it's O.K. to do stuff like that. After all the hub-bub all season long about hits to the head, Weber's penalty was a big nothin'. Chump change! Chuck

I dunno...I don't wanna condone fraud, but doesn't anyone else think this is a tad excessive? a felony? Sometimes I think stupidity and ignorant justification/ wishful thinking should be cause for lenience...I dunno, maybe I tend to give women more leeway than they deserve... Seems to me that over the years, there've been a lot of complaints about welfare fraud and how it is costing us tax-payers too much. Could be that this woman is being made an example of and that this is the beginning of a 'crack-down'. I think, it's a good start. It's about time! My wife, who is a retired peace officer says; "Women are the worst!" Chuck

Sometimes it is, and this is an area that government should and has to mirror business. An easy example is retail. One of the biggest costs to any retailer is shrinkage, which includes shoplifting, theft form employees and other merchandise that is spoiled or goes missing. No retailer can afford to ignore shrinkage as it cuts directly and substantially into profit margins. It theory every retailer would love to have shrinkage of 0%. However at some point the cost of enforcement outweighs the cost of the shrinkage and the store decides it is cheaper to let some merchandise get out of the store. Of course they are constantly trying to come up with lower-cost more efficient ways to reduce shrinkage as well as tracking any new schemes that aim to take advantage of holes in the system. I see, what you're saying. Chuck

no one slid here. She did it, it was noticed, and she now has criminal charges filed. Seems to have worked out just well. It's reactive instead of proactive, but reactive is good enough and much cheaper. I know. The way the 'process' to catch someone like her was outlined for me, it sounds cheaper to let it go. The attention on a food stamp recipient who wins a lottery would basically take care of the situation. Which would work, thus, saving tax-payer money. Chuck

From what you first stated, it's cheaper to let 'em slide! Chuck
