  1. Philly came-on like the 'Broad Street Bullies' re-newed! Not even Sid 'The Kid' can save them from the inevitable... SWEEP! It's going to be rough but... GO RED WINGS!!! Chuck
  2. Pens got spanked... in more ways than one! I noticed that hot-shot Crosby stayed out of the fracas until he had a chance to pull-down one of the Flyers by the back of his sweater from behind and another penguin jumped-in. He's a real tough guy, all-right! I don't like either team but I dis-like Pittsburgh more. Hope, they get swept. Chuck
  3. WOW! Even in the Golden West? It was a nuisance during GDR times I was told. Well, I didn't qualify for a phone during GDR times (you had to apply for it...) but got one in 1990 - when we also belonged to the Golden West - but had to share it with someone who lived next door. They didn't phone much, their daughter wasn't in that age, so we rarely got the "engaged" signal. But I was quite relieved when we got our own line in ... hmm... 1995 or so? So that doesn't make me an old fart coz my son and my daughter can 'member this problem, too. P.S.: You're a really oooold fart when you 'member the times when girls in Utah married Young. (Not a political statement ) ...and he is quoted as saying; "I don't care how you bring 'em... just bring'em young!" Chuck If your a old fart they are all young It's all good! Just that some's better. Chuck
  4. It was sure kind of San Jose to give St. Louis that one goal. Chuck
  5. This is bs Carrying is not more setting things up than Martin walking through the neighborhood What counts is who life was at risk If Martin went to Zimmerman, provoke a confrontation and was beating on Zimmerman he he got what he had coming If not, Zimmerman should go to jail It does not matter if Zimmerman was following Martin if he did not provoke a physical confrontation If Zimmerman DID provoke the physical confrontation then he should go to jail The arrest, as done, was staged for the media in this case IMO He could have been charged without all the media drama You raise a point that has me wondering about Zimmerman 'carrying'. I'v never heard of a Neighborhood Watch member 'carrying'. It's always been my understanding that they do not carry. Their duty is to observe and call the police when it is felt necessary to do so and to stay out of any altercations or to not get involved. Also, the media is going to do to this case what they have done with so many other cases, like O.J. and others. If, the judge allows the media to be in the courtroom during zimmerman's trial, it'll just be a circus. Chuck

  7. Was actually joking with the master rigger I'm working with while he was thumping away on his harness machine, that I've heard of people 5-cording their hands, but never seemed to hear of anyone bartacking themselves. Yet. Like you, I've never heard of anyone bar-tacking their finger. You'd have to be really tough to do that! Chuck
  8. Spent the entire day sewing containers and harnesses to containers... The bartacker was looking at me funny, but didn't bite. Well, you must be doing something right. I've heard all the stories of riggers sewing their thumbs and fingers and so-on. I was taught to sew the material! Chuck
  9. Probably a good idea. I've found myself limiting my activities today. No ladders, no power tools, no sharp objects... not today! Chuck

I was of the understanding that the 'real' reason we wear a helmet/frap and jumpsuit is to make cleaning-up the mess, easier!? Chuck Yup... ...that's what those little handles on the jumpsuit are for! If, we told the truth, a lot of newbies would be scared-off. Chuck

  12. One o my real favorites is the use of 'Should of', 'could of' or 'would of' in place of the conjuntion for each. Chuck
  13. Then, there's the mis-use of the word 'what' in place of the word 'which'. Chuck
  14. You keep your wife in the garage? Probably better than keeping her under the stair-way in the basement! Chuck
  15. Not true. I watched their televised press conference yesterday and they reaffirmed their belief that he acted in self-defense based on the evidence. Their stated reason for withdrawing their counsel is a break in communication. They lost contact with him last Friday, 6 Apr. During that time he contacted the special prosecutor without their representation. Zimmerman's action broke the attorney-client privileged relationship. Zimmerman also contacted a (name not mentioned) member of the media. His former attornies also said that Zimmerman is probably suffering from some form of 'post traumatic stress syndrome'. By these actions, on Zimmerman's part, he's really not helping his case. Chuck
  16. By the title, I thought that was what this was about. Awhile back, I over-heard a couple truckers talking on the CB-radio about eating at a buffet. The one trucker asked the other if he knew what BUFFET meant. The other trucker's response was; BUFFET: "Big Ugly Fat Fuckers Eating Together!" Chuck
  17. the recent fury over Catholic hospitals having to provide full medical care to its employees seems like an obvious counterexample to your claim. When I first saw that on the news, I thought; "What the hell?" Religious groups (Catholic, Protestant, Methodist and etc) are TAX FREE! The Catholic hospitals can't afford full medical care for their employees? That's nuts!!! Chuck
  18. To me, trans-gender is where a highly feminine male, feels they would be better off changing their physical appearance to that of a female. It could go that way with highly masculine females. I really believe, our ignorance and the placement of 'taboos' on sex in this country has caused a great deal of confusion among many people. Also, it is our percievance of people who are 'different'. No matter what that may be. We tend to pre-judge and and set 'defenses'. You referenced Native people of this country. They found a place in their society for homosexuals and were able to accept them. Chuck
  19. Sexual orientation is definitely in our wiring. The brain of homosexuals is for a part wired as the brain of a female. Ironically this leads to the situation that homosexuals are more likely to understand women than straight males. You can bet God laughs His Holy ass off over that. The gay-gene on the other hand..... The simple fact is that natural selection would lead to extinction of a gay-gene. While gays can procreate it's obvious that homosexuality doesn't exactly come in handy when in the whole survival of the fittest thingy. Some evidence suggest that homosexuality is coupled with high fertility in women. Gay males have on average more older brothers then straight males, so this could mean that the mother receives genetic advantage of the fertility genes that also cause homosexuality as a side effect. Homosexuals are evolutionary collateral damage of high fertility in women as it were. (I'm sure I'll be fined by the Gay Agenda over that one) I don't think the Gay Agenda will fine you for your opinion. I think, you made a very good point. True homosexuals are born and not a matter of choice. Somewhere along the line, during the formation of a child, something gets crossed-up and a 'girl' is born but shows all the traits of a boy or vice-versa. Genetics is an extremely fascinating thing. You cannot predict the results. What does matter is how we treat each other and accept differences in others. Chuck
  20. You summed it up. It's all in our 'wiring'... our DNA. How we are as humans. We can in some respects control our behavior but our 'core', what is in our DNA, we have no control over. That includes our sexuality. Chuck
  21. Just a deep in-security in their own sexuality. Chuck
  22. I would say that was ILL-considered ... or much more accurately ... Just plain bollocks. Chuck I would tend to agree. I've always understood that 'real' or 'true' homosexuals are born that way. One does not suddenly choose to be a homosexual. I've often thought that Freud suffered from most of the problems he saw in others. Chuck I think Ron does too. Chuck
