  1. I don't agree with this. I seems to me that in any activity that involves high speed projectiles, protective measures should be in place to protect bystanders. Or maybe even only a warning sign. But if that isn't the case, it can never be the responsibility of an 11 yo. And 150.000 dollars seems a "bit" over the top too me too. For that money the kid should be allowed to cause proportional damage, like dropping a piano on the lady's head. But personally I don't have a problem with the general principle of letting the responsible party pay. If, for example a 8 yo throws in my (large) living room window, the hell I'm going to pay the 1000 Euro or so replacement costs myself. Over here almost any kid has an insurance that covers for him or her in case they cause damage, but if that isn't the case, you can bet the bill goes to mom and dad. An liability insurance is very affordable, (about 60/year for a family of 4) and if someone doesn't take the responsibility to insure their kid, I've no problem to present them the bill if things go wrong. How much responsibility should be put on the shoulders of race track owners, ball park owners and etc.? People have to take some responsibility as spectators. People should realize that things happen any time any place. In this case, the kid was told by his coach, to 'warm-up the pitcher'. To me, you see something like that going on, the spectators should have a clue that there could be a 'wild pitch'. It happens in the big leagues! In this case, the people suing are just looking for a quick buck and found the righe scheister lawyer. People need to realize, the rest of the world isn't there to 'protect' them! Yes, 'reasonable' care should be taken by those putting on an event but things happen. Chuck

    Vagina!

Do you realize how much it burns when Coca-Cola passes through your nose on it's way out? Yes, I do! I tried snorting Coke once and it came right back out! It was horrible! I don't know how people do that. Chuck
  3. So... throwing a baseball, at a baseball game, is inappropriate behaviour? She's so badly hurt she can't give him a blowjob? I've changed my mind, they should definitely sue! I'm cryin' tears big as horse apples for him. Chuck
  4. A little work on his control and he could be in the bigs! What's worse is, the woman's ol' man is joining in. I was a Little League coachand I've seen windshields smashed by pop-ups. batters beaneb and so-on. Seems to me, you go to any sporting event, you're putting yourself in (possible) harm's way. If, you can't accept the responsibility... stay the hell at home! To sue an 11-yr. old boy playing baseball is totally sorry. Chuck
  5. Suing an 11-yr. old kid? What some people will stoop to for money. http://home.myhughesnet.com/news/read.php?rip_id=%3CD9VIADB82%40news.ap.org%3E&ps=994 Chuck
  6. You listen to George Strait's music, you can get some good pick-up line ideas. You got that right, about the ladies of the Lone Star! Chuck
  7. Here in Texas... 'Hey! I got a six-pack. Get in the truck!' Chuck
  8. That apartment is your 'home'. You have, if I'm not mistaken, entitled to the same rights as a home owner. Seems to me, if you have a grow permit, there's nothing the landlord can do. Ah, sounds like I was latching onto a bit of language in your original suggestion that wasn't really what you meant. Fair enough then. Too cool! This internet thing can be a little confusing for a lot of reasons. You can't see facial expressions or inflection and so-on. I thought maybe I was not wording things right. Anyhow, we figured it out. Oh... I heard earlier on the news, the largest Mexican drug cartel has gotten word to the Italian mafia, they want to join forces so as to get in on the 'coke' trade throughout Europe. What I want to know is, how much money do the cartels need? They have huge warehouses where large boxes of money is stored. They take their money and just box it and stack it. Chuck

    Vagina!

Or other choice euphemisms.... I suspect the lack of immediate reaction was because the trailer park boys didn't understand 'vagina'. They would have understood 'pussy' or 'box' or some such. Politicians...gotta love 'em. They probably thought she was talking about one of the 58 States! Chuck

  11. Why, would cities be a problem? No back yard? The permit would be for personal use. Get a large planter pot, put some dirt in the pot, plant the seeds in the dirt and water as necessary. Maybe a little Miracle Gro to speed-up the process. So, what's the problem. Unless, your consumption is greater than a couple plants. Chuck It'd be awfully hard to grow "on your own property" if you don't own property. Shoot, people have roof-top gardens in the big cities. Planter boxes with flowers, potted plants and so-on. All it takes is a little imagination. I knew a guy who raised pot in his house till the beetles got to it and ate all his plants! Chuck Oh I've grown tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, herbs, etc. in potted plants on my patio back when I rented apartments, that wasn't my point. My point is I was renting the apartments. That apartment is your 'home'. You have, if I'm not mistaken, entitled to the same rights as a home owner. Seems to me, if you have a grow permit, there's nothing the landlord can do. Chuck

  13. How does the saying go? If you're not liberal when you're 20 then you have no heart and if you're not conservative when you're 50 then you have no brain. I think the handful of people in the thread still arguing against legalization are having a hard time distinguishing behaviors attributable to using the drug and behaviors attributable to obtaining anything illegal on a regular basis. It wouldn't surprise me if the only thing that contributed to a "gateway drug" effect was that obtaining pot and other drugs has all been made to happen through the same avenues. No one worries about beer leading to pot but then both aren't for sale in the same supermarket. Also, the idea to allow personal-consumption growing licenses has a small problem, namely, cities. Why, would cities be a problem? No back yard? The permit would be for personal use. Get a large planter pot, put some dirt in the pot, plant the seeds in the dirt and water as necessary. Good point! Just for the record, I'm not about to be some 'weenie-wagger'.

    Vagina!

She accomplished nothing... It's interesting how people always have the need to minimize everything similar to how drug addicts minimize their dependency. A more accurate statement would've been, "I appreciate your concern with me killing my baby, but it's none of your business..." though still not really an argument... Agreed...and it would be more productive to hear a good argument rather than snarky emotional insults that only express the inability to conduct yourself as a representative. I believe, people, men or women need to conduct themselves in an orderly manner and that includes their language. With freedom of speech comes responsibility but too often the interpretation is in-correct. I hear people 'demanding' respect. Those people need to learn how to respect others, before they start demanding. I think too, there's too much arrogance going around. Chuck

    Vagina!

I could understand if, she got sat down for saying 'pussy'. She was trying to get someone's attention. She accomplished that! I've noticed that since 'women's lib', how things have changed. Women aren't the shy little, subservient creatures they were before. That's a good thing! Women should be heard. Men might wear the pants but it's a woman who tells them which ones! Seriously, women have to live in this old world they should have a say in it and be heard. Chuck

Yeah! They don't tell us what to do with our penis! They do tell us if we do the wrong thing with it! Chuck
  18. Interestingly majority of the comments seem to support legalization of pot in US even though politicians don't seem to do so. Mybe, the politicians are getting kick-backs from the cartels? Chuck Nah I think its because majority of politicians are old and were brought up with the reefer madness propaganda and they're stuck in that mindset. When that generation dies off then I believe pot will be legalized pretty naturally. I have a gut feeling that in roughly the next 15-20 years most western countries will legalize pot as the crumpy old people go extinct. Shit! Most of those 'grumpy old people' you refer to lived through the sixties! Maybe, they learned something from it. Chuck
  19. If that would be done it would be a massive improvement to the current situation. This alone would very likely drastically cut into the mexican cartels profits and reduce their power. When you pay the permit fee, you would recieve a seed packet and a pamphlet with growing tips and a mail-in card for a subscription to 'High Times' magazine!

  22. My wife worked (on loan) with DEA and she told me how they operate. The investigators had to get permission to do anything. Their hands were tied most of the time and made doing their jobs frustrating at the very least. Just typical Washington B.S. You're right! How Leonhart got her got her job was probably a lot like promotions given out to the biggest screw-ups. Those who were more than capable were over-looked. That's why so many went to the Marshall's office, Sky Marshalls or Secret Service. Chuck
  23. Sure. See some back-alley doctor, get a prescription! So are a lot of other folks. Chuck
  24. How about this... The government issues 'Personal Grow Permits'. One simply pays a set fee and re-news the permit annually for a fee. Like a hunting license. The weed grown by the permit holder can only be what they can use personally. No sales to anyone. This would be for personal use on the grower's property only. This would cut-out the middle-man and drastically reduce prices. Also, the laws would apply for driving under the influence and so-on. I understand that people want their 'cheap' vices and the government gets their share. Everyone is happy! Chuck
