They (Dixie Chicks) said it in England... those folks don't go by our laws, constitution, etc.. Soo, were they 'covered' by the First Ammendment? They pissed-off Toby Keith, too!

Holy crap! A 5-lb. weight, packed into a container... the rigger couldn't notice the difference in weight, before and after? I keep all my tools in a brief-case type carrier that I made while working on my Master's. The same bag is available through Para-gear. Each tool has it's own place. I have other tools that hang from a peg-board in my shop and each tool is 'assigned' it's own hook. Each tool (weights also), is 'flagged' with a neon-pink, length of Type 3. I also, use a check-list. Being rather 'obsessive-compulsive', hasn't hurt. Chuck

Hey, Rob! I took-up your suggestion of getting a Ghost Loop from Jumpshack... world of difference! Not hard to figure-out and makes things easier. I've used a compression strap on the pilotchute, for several years. Makes 'flipping' the rig much easier. Chuck

I understand what you are saying and I have to agree with you. As you mentioned, those are exactly the folks I have a hard time with. Folks that try to 'use' the Ammendments for their 'benefit' but, anyone opposing them cannot. "A nod is as good as a wink, to a blind horse!"
-
Right on!

No, I meant to say what I did. I just don't agree with some of the Supreme court decisions in regard to the First Ammendment. But, that's just my opinion and, I'll fight for their right to say it, whether I like it or not because, this is America!

Personally, I feel, the First Ammendment to the U.S. Constitution has been stretched, contorted and twisted to a near breaking point. Anything said or written, someone, somewhere is going to take offense. To me, anyone offended by something written or spoken, has the same right to voice their opinion. Someone who writes or speaks something potentially offensive to someone else, should be prepared to hear the responses. I don't know, how far it'll get you... The pendulum swings both ways. It's all there in the First Ammendment. Chuck

Scopes, Darrow, Bryan... R.I.P.

Thanks, for what you are doing! Be safe!

I tried that for awhile (less material at the top) and the results looked, well, bleeechh! I talked with Henri (the manufacturer) and he told me to be sure to really 'fill' the corners of the free-bag. I found that, you really have to make sure the tuck-tabs are 'well placed' in their respective pockets. Chuck

Do you believe everything you read "on-line"? Surely, no despot, anti-Christian zealot or anyone else would post false statements "on-line"!?
-
Granted, manufacturers, doctors, lawyers, anyone in a service business and etc., should be responsible for what they 'deliver'. We as individuals are 'up for grabs', when it comes to lawsuits. I'm just referring to the 'frivilous' 'just out for the money' lawsuits. I just feel, lawsuits should be 'scrutinized' before going to court. With 'greed', playing a large role in our society, I don't see an end to 'frivilous' lawsuits.
-
My bad! I should have used the word 'found' or 'evidence of' rather than proven.
-
Rather than 'proven', I should probably have used 'found'... most commonly through investigation.
-
You make a good point. I am not going to sit here and say that ALL lawsuits are frivilous. When negligence is proven... go for it. There was not realy a lot mentioned on the news or in the press about the McDonalds - hot coffee suit. The 'late night' T.V. guys had a field-day with it. Still, to me, when I order coffee, anywhere, I 'expect' it will be hot and think a little more of myself than to put hot coffee between my legs. Even on the coldest of days! I feel, there must be some way of separating the 'grain from the chaf' in regard to lawsuits. As for the tobacco companies, I agree! They did in fact, supress information regarding their products. Also, the fact that tobacco IS addictive. Quitting tobacco products can be one of the hardest things to get off of. For those who smoked for 10 - 20 yrs. and just 'quit'... Damn, That, is an accomplishment. What about the Corvair? Ralph Nader, 'made' his name with that one! That's another story.

Hear, hear! Thanks, I forgot that part. Come to think of it, there have been some 'huge' settlements. Makes sense. Sue for say, $120mil. Settle for $30mil. Not bad! Deals like that also, add to the cost of things. Sheeesh!
-
I feel, one reason there are so many 'frivilous' lawsuits is that, judges have 'awarded' outrageous sums in so many cases. I feel also, many judges are afraid of being over-turned in a higher court. Now, some folks 'look' for reasons to sue... looking to get rich quick. Suing tobacco companies because someone's uncle died as a result of smoking 4-packs a day. Suing McDonalds over a cup of coffee that was spilled. Duh! Coffee... it's hot! Gimme a break. Suing hamburger places because their kid is 9-yrs. old and weighs 300lbs. and eats nothing but McDonald's all day. Let us not forget the lawers who file these suits and get a 'big' percentage (if, they win). Yeah, it needs changing, all right.

"I'm offended that 'they' are offended!"

Hear, hear! -
Good way of venting our pent-up anger and agressions. Can't we all, just get along? Chuck

Hear, hear, Dave! Well said!!! Chuck

I live in Texas and don't always lock my door... and I live in a neighborhood with a lot og 'gang-bangers' and crap like that. We're gradually clearing them out... legally.
-
Anyone asks me, I say; "Yup! That IS a rifle in my pick-up!" I don't believe, that those of us in Texas live in fear because we have guns... we're just prepared! I didn't get my CHL, out of fear, I got it... just in case!
-
My wife, who is in law enforcement, told me yesterday, we have one living one-block from us!

... and IF, you pull your gun, you shoot to stop. Not to wound or scare 'em. They won't think twice about about slicin' your throat.
