  1. I've seen these at the PIA-Symposium... pretty cool! They let folks try them out. Chuck
  2. I don't mind packing Racers, at all. A few years ago, I drove across half of Texas to attend a Jump Shack Seminar. The final portion of the seminar was to select a Racer (various sizes available) inspect it and re-pack it. I selected a Power Racer hee, hee. The part of the seminar I was looking for but, was not covered, was packing a Racer with Cypres. I taught myself, with the help of one of the Cypres manuals available that really 'clarified' things. I don't pack too many of them any more. Seems as though, folks are really 'shy' about them. The first few Racers can be 'intimidating' but, like anything else, the more you do... the better you get. As for charging more for Racers... No. I charge the same as for any other rig. I have found too, how really helpful Jump Shack's folks are. Anyone attending the PIA Symposium this year, stop-by the Jump Shack booth and visit with those folks. Chuck
  3. I apologise for my mis-understanding. I obviosly did not read the very top line of your post. The story tells of a lack of consideration and respect for someone helping defend this Nation of ours. The Marine in your story stood tall. I'm proud for your brother, also. Tell him I said 'thanks', for what he's doing. Chuck
  4. I'd have to agree with you. I've got an S&W Model 66, .357 mag. My wife, carries a 40 Glock. When we go target shooting I'll shoot .38 wad-cutters. when I 'carry', I keep it loaded with the magnums. As you mentioned, the .38 ammo is cheaper. The .357 is a good, all 'round pistol. They've been around, since the 1920's and have proven themselves. Chuck
  5. I agree! Your brother, as well as every other man and woman that wears a uniform of the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, whatever is in fact fighting for that store owner's as well as his friends rights to live in this country. They sure like our money, don't they!? I think, folks like that should do a little thinking and realize, which side their bread is buttered on. Your brother handled the situation in a good and mature manner. I think, vendors should also boycott that store! Let's see what happens when they have no bread, beer or cigarettes to sell! Chuck
  6. If you can, get with a rigger and get some ideas from him/her. I'll bet, he'll be more than happy to help. See which tools he/she has. Chuck
  7. I agree! The really 'good' ones, cost about $400.00! The 'cheap' ones screw-up too easily and don't work on more than 2-layers of Cordura/Para-pack. Chuck
  8. Forget the tape applicator. Hot-knife the necessary length of tape you need to cover the raw edge, allowing for a bit of over-lap. Fold the tape in half, lengthwise, by creasing the tape with your finger as you move along. Put the creased tape over the raw edge of your material while it is under the raised presser foot. Line everything up the way you want it and lower the presser foot. At the corners, use a pick to form neat creases and here, you'll have to 'hand wheel' the next stitches while maintaining a neat corner. It's 'tricky' and takes patience. Try practicing on some scrap material first till you get the hang of it. Hope, this helps. Chuck
  9. It's 'Innocent by reason of insanity'. Hope, that helps. Chuck
  10. Let's see... Yeah, I like the USA flag. Chuck
  11. As was suggested. Get the pilot chute to a rigger and let the rigger replace the kill-line. He'll know what to do. Chuck
  12. I appreciate what you've said as well as the correction. It's sad, when things like this happen. It's shocking to a lot of folks. It seems to strike hard, especially when children are involved. It is rather obvious that she can not 'fit' in everyday society. I really don't believe prison would be the right thing for her. A place where she can get proper help, might. That's for the courts to decide. Chuck
  13. I heard on the news this morning, that Andrea Yates, has been on 'medication'. Her mother had visited her shortly after being put on medication and Andrea asked her mother; "Who's taking care of the children?. Her defense lawyer is trying to claim now, that Andrea had watched a television series, where a mother had drowned her child... due to 'post-partum depression'. That Andrea's 'viewing' the show, put a 'thought' in her mind while suffering 'post-partum depression'. The woman is a brick shy of a full load and needs to be kept out of society! Chuck
  14. Life is full o' surprises! We are all gonna go... we just don't know when. I just love a good mystery. that's why I live like there's no tomorrow. Chuck
  15. I don't believe, I made the quote you 'credit' me with. Check 'funks' response on page 1 of this thread. Chuck
  16. Good point! Seems to me, we expect actors, actresses, athletes and the like to be 'well' paid and live extravagantly. We seem to be overly-impressed when they make a big 'splash' about some mind-boggling donation. Hey, they gave! They gave big because they can afford it. To me, you give what you can. If, you can only afford 1-dollar, great! It all adds-up. You gave! To slam someone because they didn't give an amount we feel they should, is silly. I believe, the president was only trying to be an example, not a show-boater. I agree with the idea that, the big press releases by the actors and NBA players is an ego thing. Chuck
  17. It's good to hear from gun 'supporters'! Chuck
  18. I think, that is un-realistic. That's a little knt-pickin'. If you don't have it... you can't give it. Chuck
  19. Maybe, those tossin' in the 'big' bucks are playing a 'money game' under the advisement of their accountants. Maybe, they're doing it for the recognition or to impress the multitudes. No telling what their reasons are. Compare our president's salary to those of Sandra Bullock or an NBA player. Chuck
  20. I would have to agree with the fact that Pres. Bush gave 'something'! I don't think it matters, as to the amount someone gives... it's the fact they did 'something'. To some folks, $10,000.00 bucks is a LOT of money. Is that how we judge people? By what's in their wallet? Hmmmmm... Chuck
  21. It is, an interesting post! Thanks for sharing. I feel, a person has to look at all sides and angles and do some serious soul-searching, before applying for a concealed hand gun license. Having been in law enforcement and my wife, who is presently in law enforcement, it wasn't too difficult of a decision for me. Chuck
  22. Well, ya' done good! Appreciate it. Chuck
  23. Thanks, Dave for 'clarifying' that story I told. I was told of the incident by the CHL instructor. Memory must be goin' bad. We had it really stressed in the CHL class to really use your head when using a handgun. We were also informed of the co$t involved with the 'use' of a concealed handgun. Chuck
  24. I believe, if the person was just tearin'-up my grass, I'd call the police and file 'malicious destruction of property' charges. If, he barges into my house and starts wreckin' a family member or me... different story. Several years ago, here in Texas, when they passed the Concealed Handgun law, one of the first license holders got involved in a 'road-rage' incident in Dallas. He tried to stay 'un-involved'. Traffic 'jammed-up' and the one guy got out of his car, reached in the other car involved and started beating the driver with a bat or something similar. The recipient of the beating had a Concealed Handgun License. He pulled his pistol and killed the guy and no charges were filed. Chuck
