Score was tied. Last of the ninth, nobody on. 2 - outs. The count was 3&1. The pitcher threw one right across the plate. Travis put everything into it and knocked the ball high over the right fielder's head and over the fence. I was so damned proud of him, I coulda' burst. In the late 50's and early 60's, big corporations started moving to the Southern 'Right to Work' states, to avoid the high wages of the labor unions. One of the first, was the Daisy BB Gun,Co.. They moved from Plymouth, Michigan to Rogers, Arkansas. The Auto industry then, started building assembly plants in the South. Wages in these plants increased because the Northern plants were still paying higher wages. Recently, I read where wages are going down in the plants and the hiring of illegals has increased. Shit, seems to be a 'generic' word used when we just can't think of a better word. Such as, reference to something new that someone got. "That's some cool shit!" To someone from outside the U.S. this can really sound bad. Especially in reference to children. We are so used to hearing these things that, we don't think a thing of it. A really good guy is a; 'Good shit!' I myself (believe it or not) have been referred to as such... I was flattered! Once, again, you have interpreted things incorrectly. He's not a little shit because he's a youngster.
