  1. Hey, DON! Carnaby St. called... they want their suits back!! Chuck This is what happens when men are allowed to shop for themselves. Yup! I'll stick with Wranglers and pearl-snap shirts! Chuck

  3. Totally Fucked-up! I sure hope, things go good for you. Insurance companies are to me, nothing more than a racket! Chuck
  4. NBC andESPN are very prejudiced in favor of Eastern teams, anyhow. Especially Pittsburgh. Chuck
  5. I like to watch Don Cherry and he might be eccentric and says only good Canadian boys should be playing hockey but as for European players, I disagree with him. The Russian players gave the Red Wings a big boost in the 90's. Then the Swedes. I think, they've all been good for the NHL. Chuck

You have noooooooooooooooooooooooooo idea what goes into a sausage So true! It's usually a mishmash of various meats from who knows where except company executives. However, the best sausage I've eaten is Conecuh Sausage, from down in southern Alabama. Good stuff.[/reply Andouille ain't bad either! Chuck

  8. It should be a real good game! The Wings show bouts of brilliance then collapse after a couple wins. It's antbody's game, for sure. Chuck
  9. There are a number of similarities between the old AFL and the WHA. The AFL was created to compete against the NFL just as the WHA was created to compete against the NHL. Numerous NFL players were attracted by $$$ to play in the AFL as were a few NHL stars such as Bobby Hull to play in the WHA (first hockey player to be paid one million buckaroos). But like the AFL that eventually merged with the NFL, the WHA also merged a few of their teams into the NHL. Now the USFL ... that is a different can of worms. Spring football made sense to some, not to all. But there was no way the USFL could compete against the NFL in the fall. That was dumb of them to change their schedule. It killed the USFL. Thanks! Nonsense. I was brought up in Canada, where most people would agree with you. I still go back to the same question - I personally don't see why you would have a problem with eating horse as compared to cow (for instance). I guess, it's just me. Having been around horses, just about all my life, I've been able to form a bond with them. Just not the same as with a cow or a chicken. Chuck

How about China? Don't they eat dogs? Whatever floats their boat! Chuck
  12. Peronlly, I don't care for her 'bubble-gum, cross-over' music. The fact that she has to meet and soon break-up with some guy for song material is kinda weird. She's no Carrie Underwood! Chuck

I guess, it just boils-down to where you're brought-up. Here in the States, we just have a different mindset when it comes to horses. I don't think, I could even bring myself to try horsemeat. Chuck
  14. The WHA didn't last too long but if I recall correctly, the NHL got some pretty good players, after the 'break-up'. Chuck

I know one thing... when I look at my horse, I sure don't see a thick, juicy steak! I think, with most folks in this country, we look at horses as being free and having a spirit of independance. I was told by a horse clinician; "When you look into the eye of a horse, you see yourself!" Chuck

Yup,, I prefer my fish SMOKED or deep fried... you ever seen how many parasites there are in fresh fish? No, I haven't... don't want to, either! I'm with you, smoked, fried in a skillet with butter or grilled (Salmon, trout). The only fish I like deep-fried is good catfish. Chuck You can fillet some salmon or halibut or just about any other species especially down on the Gulf Coast ( think Snapper.. grouper flounder, snook etc) and you will see little spiral worms a wigglin away down around the tail in the meat. Hell I have even seen them in tuna... COOK THAT SHIT... then its just more protein Damned right I'm gonna cook it! I imagine, fish are no different than any other living thing, they're going to have shit in them you have to cook out. Bottom line... I ain't eatin sushi!! Chuck

I wonder if, those folks ever consider the medications they are ingesting when they eat horsemeat? Wormers, anti-biotics, various other drugs given to horses for various reasons. Truckloads of horses travel the highway near where I live, headed for slaughter in Ojinaga. Their condition varies from performance to emaciated. Those slaughter houses are not controlled and the meat is not tested, inspected or graded. Just butchered and shipped to Europe! Chuck

  23. Not quite correct (though I will admit I needed to look this up). The Atlanta Flames never played in the WHA. They were created in 1972 and immediately added to the NHL to keep the WHA out of Atlanta. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlanta_Flames Other than that the rest of what you said is correct. That's what I get for relying on my 'old' memory. Ha,ha... I appreciate your clearing that up. Chuck
  24. Which team? The Atlanta Flames or the Atlanta Thrashers? LOL The Thrashers moved to Winnipeg at the start of the 2011/2012 season. Weren't the Atlanta Flames part of the old WHA and absorbed into the NHL? They moved to Calgary due to 'lack of interest' in Atlanta. The 'old' Winnipeg Jets were also in the old WHA and later became the Phoenix Coyotes. I think, I got that straight. Chuck
