  1. They had to win I guess so, or all of Canada would have rioted. Canadians rioting after a hockey game.... oh the horror of it all I'm not going to get into a pissing match over the actions of some completely useless pieces of skin... but we shouldn't forget that some of those charged were residents of Washington state... Kinda like the response of some cities in the U.S. after their team lost the World Series or the Superbowl. Chuck
  2. They had to win I guess so, or all of Canada would have rioted. Canadians rioting after a hockey game.... oh the horror of it all Didn't that originate in Vancouver orwas it Edmonton? Chuck
  3. CHUCK.... how in the heck did you of all people.... in the place where you live..... Get interested in hockey.... I an thinking that men with sticks is not a very common team sport down that way. Doesn't Dallas have a NHL team? Yes, they do! Houston has had the Houston Aeros since about the 70's. Gordy Howe and his two boys, Mark and Marty played for the Aeros. Chuck
  4. CHUCK.... how in the heck did you of all people.... in the place where you live..... Get interested in hockey.... I an thinking that men with sticks is not a very common team sport down that way. Down here, sticks are mostly used to move cattle through the crowdin' alley or pens. Years ago, I was driving trucks over the road. I had a delivery to Detroit. I got up there on a Friday evening and my un-loading time was Monday morning. I wound-up in a beer joint and there was a hockey game on the t.v., 'big screens' weren't around then. I just got real interested in it. When hockey got introduced in the South, it really took-off. There's a lot of folks in this part of the world interested in the game. Lot's of youth teams and semi-pro teams. I like to think that Im 'diverse'. In the 90's, the city I lived in at the time, got a minor league team. A couple of my buddies and I went to some of their games and it kinda took-off from there. Took me quite awhile to get a grip on it, though. Chuck
  5. The Wngs have a west-coast road trip and the Kings are on the list. Vancouver got their fannies beat by the Wings yesterday 8 to 3! After a five game loss streak, this just might be the spark for a Wings win streak. In spite of all the injuries and players on the DL, the Wings are hanging in. I've never noticed that about Edmonton's rink. Chuck
  6. Looks like every other SUV on the roads today. My wife drives a 1991 Jeep Sahara with a 4.0 litre engine and you can't kill it! Purrrs like a kitten. Chuck
  7. I'm assuming, you're talking about 'pot'? Or, are you saying 'coke', 'crank' and 'horse should be legalized too? The gangs could still, shake-down legal distributors and force them to buy only from the cartels. Those guys are experts at intimidation and brutality. Also, they aren't going to just give-up a multi-billion dollar business. I don't care what you do, we'll never be rid of the gangs. You think they won't get to any politicians wanting to legalize dope? I don't think, the general public has a clue as to just how dangerous the gangs really are. Most folks don't want to face the fact that there are gangs in their community, too! Chuck
  8. But in a pinch, they will pick your lettuce or hang your drywall. To them, that's too much like work! At any rate, they don't want the 'picking' jobs, they go for the higher paying jobs in the north. Chuck
  9. In talking with Border Patrol Agents in my area, they are seeing more and more Hispanic gang members of various gangs and other criminal types crossing our southwest border. All of them wanting to get in on the very lucrative drug trade here. They aren't interested in voting in our elections, either! Chuck
  10. Didn't see what you saw. One in twenty-five people in the US is here illegally. Much of this happened because the US looked the other way for decades when we needed cheap labor on our food farms and domestic help in our homes. Pretty much since the days of Pancho Villa. The Wall REALLY went up in an attempt to slow the trafficking of drugs and guns. There are fewer people actually trying to breach the wall to come to the US for work. Why? Because most of THOSE people intend to return to their families in Mexico (sending them money along the way) and crossing BACK is now very difficult. The drug dealers and gun runners also make this entire idea very dangerous, i.e. just crossing over for temporary work. So many of these people have given up the effort. Meanwhile, the drug guys and gun runners dig tunnels to keep their own businesses going, and they can be as dangerous to 'normal' workers as the Border Patrol. Well, actually MORE dangerous. The Border Patrol doesn't cut off your head, arms, or shoot you in the head for pissing them off or infringing on their territory. In that way, the Wall is working. Like the average citizenry, not ALL illegals deserve amnesty. Obama knows this. There are bad apples mixed in among the good. What's needed is a comprehensive program to determine the difference. And for those deported wrongly...who are here illegally anyway...they can try the legit option AFTER they are returned to Mexico. Amen! Chuck
  11. ,,,and I had to miss it! Dang! The Wings have heard for years about what an 'old' team they were. With Lidstrom and Homer retired, they's signed some very good young players. Brunner being a stand-out. This could be a big turning point for the Wings. Maybe, there wassomething to all the grumbling about not enough young players. I still, see the Wingsin the play-offs. Chuck
  12. Looks like, the Wings pulled-out a squeaker! Yay!!! Chuck
  13. That would make the police and anyone else, better targets... which is just what the bad guy would like. Chuck

  16. Why on earth would you say it might be fake? Why would it need to be? Are you saying the President of the US doesn't have access to a shotgun and a real photo couldn't be taken? That's absurd. It might not be from the exact date, but this photo would be trivial to set up in reality, so why fake it? I'm saying it might be fake. If it's not fake, it's probably staged. He wants to look good to the Elmer Fudd gun owners who have no interest in modern firearms. Plenty of tme to do a little skeet shooting, rest his shoulder then hit the links. Shoot a quick 9 then have a beer! If, the photo is in fact a 'fake' it's sure, a good fake. I don't think, that picture, splattered all over the papers, is going to help his gun bill... fake or not. Chuck An 'Elmer Fudd gun lover'.
  17. Lungo has shown a lot in his career. He's gotten to the point of 'brick wall'. Another one is Jimmy Howard. From back-up to Chris Osgood to #1 goalie on the Wings. Speaking of the Wings, they sure got the best of St. Louis, last night. That, was a good game. Chuck
