  1. ______________________________ Thanks, Slappie! I couldn't find anything either. I feel better now. Chuck
  2. As was suggested here, send it back to the manufacturer and get the rings replaced. If it were me, inspecting your rig and found cracks in the rings, I'd 'ground' it until the repairs were made. Cracks in hardware, lead to breaks. One of the things we (riggers) look for during our inspection of a harness-container is cracks or deformity of the rings and hardware. I'd be willing to bet, since the rig is not that old, they'll do the job for free! Chuck
  3. Something by 'Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers'! Chuck
  4. _____________________________________ The Hulk is... DEAD? Holy crap! Chuck
  5. Wha'... No 'MAD' magazine? Chuck
  6. Yeah, so I'm just as curious for the recap. Some questions: How'd that nasty scary harridan get laid and married in the first place to be eligible for the show? What's HER family like? Did they give the other mom back? _____________________________________ That, brings an ugly visual to mind! I really hate reality shows. My wife, loves them. They are about as far from reality as a comic book. You tell me, how can something that is scripted and coreographed be reality??? Chuck
  7. ________________________________________ From all reports of investigators, 'D.B. Cooper', had a good knowledge of the aircraft and especially the exits, he exited from and a knowledge of parachutes and jump skills. From what I read, the theory is; he used untraceable equipment which he could leave behind after landing. There have been one or two claims to the name but, so far, noone who has come forward, has proven to be the 'real' D.B. Cooper. Chuck
  8. _____________________________________ You've made a good and valid point! I think, what you've said, applies to a lot of 'chain' stores & restaurants. One might be good in one town and not so good in another. Chuck
  9. Also, at the HD here, they will bend-over-backwards to help load a man's pick-up but will walk away if a woman has a large, heavy order. Chuck
  10. _______________________________ I knew that... I was testing you! That's too cool! Chuck
  11. I'm surprised, you got helped in the first place! I've gone into their store (here) and would need a little help from an 'associate'. I'd look all-over the damned place... finally, I'd find someone. I'd ask for help and I'd get; "Uh... that's not like, my department... the guy that works here is on break!" I left and went to Lowe's!!! Chuck
  12. _____________________________________________ You bet! Happy Birthday, you guys and gals and can't thank you enough, for what you are doing for all of us. Quite a proud history, there. Chuck
  13. ____________________________ ...and then? Chuck
  14. I read in the news paper a couple years ago, where a 'similar' attempt was made but thwarted by authorities. The man was arrested and met the description of 'D.B. Cooper'. The arrested man was about the same age. He could not be questioned in regard to the original sky-jacking due to the fact, the 'statute of limitations' had run-out. Supposedly, the original D.B. Cooper, had broken a leg on landing and was helped by a woman who lived in a cabin in the woods. She supposedly set his leg and let him stay till he healed-up and took him to a near-by town where he just walked away. This is probably one of the most interesting cases ever. It also started the 'sky-jacking craze'. Chuck
  15. __________________________________ Sounds like, you got just the right altimeter! I've seen them get pretty beat-up and just keep going and going and... Chuck
  16. Are you saying it was dropped from altitude and then lay exposed to the elements for nearly a year? If so, I am duly impressed. ________________________________________ On opening, he said he saw it fall, right in front of him. It landed on the edge of a fresh plowed cotton field. I think, that soft dirt, had a lot to do with it. He cleaned it up and had our pilot take it up with him and it worked! I was rather impressed, to say the least. Chuck
  17. Yep, sold a few meself, and TLML and I have been jumping them for 6-7 years now and never a lick of a problem. Now I'm not saying that someone won't have a problem, but I truly believe that there is no pandemic problem with FT-50s. _______________________________________ I don't believe, there should be a 'panic' situation. Any manufacturer will run across a problem on occassion like Mondays and Fridays. Chuck
  18. _________________________________ Unless they've changed, it seems like the Alti's are off, one way ot the other with altitude reading!? Chuck
  19. ______________________________________ I've got a Barigo, that I've had for 17-yrs. and it has never failed me. One of our jumpers has one, that was lost because, it got packed-up in his main. My wife found it, almost a year later, while we were looking for student rip-cords. He's still using it! A very under-estimated altimeter. Chuck
  20. That's interesting! I've sold, I don't know how many FT-50 altimeters and have not heard of a single problem with any of them. Chuck
  21. ____________________________________ Great for hold-ups in the hoo, too!! Chuck
  22. Douva! You look like a plucked penguin! Chuck
  23. You're obviously not a golfer. Sweet, a Lebowski reference. There's hope for the DZ.com heathens yet. And yes Taveras was robbed. He was such an integral part of the Astros, I dont even see how the other guys were in the running. MLB hates Houston. ________________________ Those BASTARDS! You're right! Houston, is the red-headed step-child of every sport going! Just cus it ain't the Yankees or the mets or the Cards. Chuck
  24. ______________________________________ I agree with you. Hell, in the men's room, they would've thrown money and everyone would've been happy. The story would've spread, the bar would have to expand (especially the men's room). It's a win - win situation! Chuck
