QuoteI gotta say, I really appreciate a smart hottie Rebecca on national TV. Keeps up the good name. [/reply ___________________________________________ Up until last night, I thought Randal, was the top choice but, Rebecca, was right up there too. Their final thing, they had to do was about equal as far as screw-ups. I got a bit tired of Randal playing the 'dead grandma' card and Rebecca playing the 'broken ankle' card. Randal though, has a serious case of tunnel vision. Rebecca, is easily swayed. At the end, Randal, looked like a jerk and a total ass, while Rebecca, showed a lot of class. I'd bet the ranch, the Donald hired Rebecca. Besides, I don't think, Randal will last. Rebecca, yeah, she's got the 'brass'. She'll be fine. Interesting show! Chuck

One of my very favorite quotes from one of my very favorite people... Yogi Berra. "If, you come to a fork in the road... take it!" In regard to the above mentioned quote from Hillary Clinton... that, was not, a 'brain-fart'! Chuck

My Local news had a piece on 1 800-SKYRIDE!!!!
masterrig replied to Kid_Icarus's topic in The Bonfire
I have seen 'dis-claimers' on some DZ web-sites stating that they do not accept Skyride certificates. That, seems to be a good idea. Chuck -

washing container - cutaway cable’s hard housing
masterrig replied to Lostinspace's topic in Gear and Rigging
Of course, it is! I don't think, I ever said it wasn't a good idea to clean the housings. Were you pulling the release cables while she was wearing the rig or when she wasn't wearing the rig? That, makes a big difference. When a person is not wearing a rig and you pull the release cables, it can be quite difficult. The cable, hard routings have to have a fairly good 'arc' to them at the shoulders. Chuck -
LOOPS AT THE END OF PR'S LOWER STERING LINES

If, I am not mistaken, for every 6" of finger-trapped line, 1" length over all, is lost. Chuck -

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pre-washing at the factory level requires really nasty chemicals like de-greaser or carbon tretrachloride which raise a whole bunch of workplace health and safety issues. SCARY! A few years back, Parachutes de France issued a service bulletin about cleaning release housings and I think they specified carbon tetrachloride (a popular gun-cleaning solvent). Cleaning one or two housings will not be too dangerous, but you don't want to be breathing those nasty fumes all day. _________________________________________ ...and to think that, years ago, carbon tetrachloride was used in fire extinguishers! I remember when I was a kid and saw parents put a cigarrette in their little son's or daughters mouth and take pictures. They thought it was 'just so cute!' Of course, the parents smoked and it was so cute the way the kid looked just like mommy or daddy! Chuck

He would definitely be the most intimidating cop there ever was! ____________________________________________ Just what I've seen of Shaq in interviews, he really seems like a 'nice' guy. Hell on wheels on the courts but a nice guy. I think, he'll make a damned good cop. I don't think, he's doing it just for the 'press', either. I think, he has real good intentions. I'm just gonna stay the hell outa his town! Chuck Chuck

Always glad to see the good person win! Serves the psycho-bitch right... ___________________________________ Thank you! A lesson learned about being young and stupid. The 'body' isn't everything. Yeah, there were a 'couple things' that sorta bugged me but, I could live through that! Then, I said 'I do' and how did I know it was gonna screw-up, the rest of my life? I knew how to cook! Honest to God, Man! I had been out with the guys, I called home first, got full approval and, well, I got just a little drunk. I eased into bed and woke-up awhile later fighting for my life. The broad had a kitchen knife and was trying to stab my ass and a few other parts. Fortunately, the mattress and my pillow got the brunt of her anger. I got away 'clean' with only a hang-over. I found out later, I was allowed to go out with the guys... I just wasn't supposed to get drunk! needless to say, this episode, brought a sudden demise to the marriage. I had no idea, she had so much pent-up anger. Chuck

A good listener is greatly appreciated by those who like to talk. It's also, a darn good way to learn. Being a good listener gives you an in-sight to the person who is talking. If, you talk too much you don't 'hear'. Chuck

I think, you're just in the right(?) place at the right time. I've had some things happen to me in my life-time that folks would just roll their eyes and walk away. I think, in your case, your curiosity and desire to learn has had a lot to do with your experiences in your life-time. I think too, the fact that you're a nice guy has kept you 'safe'. Hell, I don't really know but, I think, a compilation of your experiences in 'book' form would make for a good seller! Chuck

I'm glad to hear this! He might only be a reserve but, it's a step in the direction he wants to go. I've been reading and hearing for a couple years now, he wants to be in police work. I don't think, at his size, anyone will fuck with him!!! Shaq, is a 'class act'. Good for him! Chuck

Walt, this is your best effort to date! Love ya', Man! (But not in a homosexual way!) Chuck

Seriously, check trash cans and dumpsters in the area! A purse snatcher will usually go through it, get the valuables then get rid of it. If, the trash has been picked-up already, I doubt there's any hope of finding it. Sorry to hear this happened to you. I hate thieves!!! Chuck

Aw no!? Geeze, I always liked Richard Pryor. Well, maybe, it's better than what he was living with. He will be missed. Chuck

Should a Cutaway cable move or slip at all upon opening.
masterrig replied to skip's topic in Gear and Rigging
Sounds to me like your cable(s) are too short. I can't see your rig or cables so, I would take the advise of getting it to a rigger. He'll be able to help better than we can here. New release cables and handle aren't that costly. Chuck -
That was kind of them. A little 'support' thing. My second divorce, was actually amicable. My first divorce was a living hell! She turned-out to be a total whack-job! I'll never forget... the judge (I was told to stay away by my atty.) told my 1st. ex that she had absolutely no grasp of reality and that someone missed a good opportunity to smack her fanny and to sit-down and be quiet! My attorney told me that and I about busted a gut! In that one, 'I' got the gold-mine and she got the shaft! Chuck
-
That is the only thing that my ex-wife let me keep (not that her attorney didn't try ). As it turned out, everything is not a bad trade for having a pair. _____________________________________ That, was about the only thing, I got out of my last divorce! Oh, that and my cleanest dirty shirt! Chuck
