This is what I found... http://publicdefender.mt.gov/training/sentencingoutline.pdf It appears, the judge was within guidelines. Just doesn't seem right but that is Montana law. Chuck
-
The part that got me was, the judge gave him 15-yrs. and suspended 14-yrs. 11-months plus one day served! The judge's comment about the girl being older than her years was un-believable. The whole thing is beyond 'common sense'. Chuck

In that part of the country, it'd be something a bit stronger than a 'large whooping paddle'. If, ya' get my drift! Chuck
-
It never crossed my mind that Montana would not have minimum/maximum sentences. It appears the length of the sentence is left up to the judge. Just seems strange. Chuck
-
That is correct. Just doesn't seem right, does it? Chuck

Then, here's this... http://home.myhughesnet.com/tv/3/player/vendor/CNN/player/cnn/asset/cnn-teacher_gets_30day_sentence_for_rape-cnn Chuck

That's just wrong!! Chuck -
The announcer clearly states that those lines were for the cup race. Whatever that means. I assume that this is not the cup race by how he said it. The Cup races refers to NASCAR races held there. The markings for Indy cars are red marks on the pit pavement. Power's car was right on the marks. Dixon cleared the tire man but the fender of his car caught the tire the guy was carrying on his hip. It was at that point the Vigaro hit the Mix-master! Chuck
-
It was mentioned by a crew member, during the race, that crew members will do that on purpose to slow a driver from getting out ahead of their driver. The tire guy should not have had that tire on his hip but what's done is done. Chuck

88-year-old WWII vet beaten to death outside his lodge
masterrig replied to Lefty's topic in Speakers Corner
I'd say incidents of young black men beating octogenarians and nonagenarians to death are as sweeping as incidents of people going on shooting sprees with black rifles. Nationwide measures intently focused on preventing just such incidents are equally misguided. -

Trend or coincidence? http://home.myhughesnet.com/news/read/category/Us%20News/article/ap-cops_20yearold_man_killed_99yearold_ny_w-ap Chuck -
It appears to me that 'letting them all in' doesn't seem to be working. Not doing anything about 15-million of them isn't working either. When they all gather in the streets to rant their 'un-fair treatment' and their 'entitlement' to be in the U.S. A. seems like a good time to sack them up and give them that free ride back to their homeland!? There ya' go! If it's some hairy-legged ol' boy doin' the pattin'... no thank you! Chuck

As I asked Lawrocket, wouldn't that tend to put people off from going there, knowing they are going to be treated like suspects? I know, I'd get tired of it real quick. Chuck
-
Let me ask this, do you think that non gun-toting patrons would get tired of being patted down every time they go for a cup coffee? Chuck
-
They seem to do a good deal of business... anywhere. Personally, I think they are way over-priced and to me, their coffee is like it's been run through an old sock. I realize that it's probably the thing to do, going to Starbucks but I'll stick with Folgers brewed in our coffee pot here at the house. Chuck

I'd imagine too, all those folks involved will have a way of milking more out of it if the tax-payers are footin' the bill. Chuck
