I get so tired of sports commentators in general with all their stats. The way I see 'stats' is, Any team can beat any other team on any given day! All those stats don't mean a thing. That's just going to be a good series! Both those teams are lit-up like a Christmas tree and the Canes have gained a lot of confidence... just getting past Boston! Boston was what? #-1 over all in the East? #-1's just haven't faired well. Chuck

Detroit out-played the Ducks and played 'their' game. The Ducks didn't quit and kept trying. Detroit was 4-2 in the regular season against "Bulin' and co. Losing the last two home-home games of the season to Chicago. It's been a loooooong time since these two teams have met in the play-offs. It's gonna be a good series, no doubt! I'm not a Pens fan or a Canes fan but, I'm going to stick my neck-out and say Pens in seven. A repeat of last year in the finals. How's that? Chuck

I heard the 'stat' again tonight that I was struggling with on pg. 14 of this thread... Had Boston won tonight, it would have been the first time in their history to come from a 3-1 deficit and win a play-off series. Canes blew that idea for them! Chuck

Hey Chuck, Did you get the feeling that things were slipping away for the Wings when the Ducks tied it up in the third? I honestly thought the Ducks were going to pull it off....there was no quit in them at all. Oh, heck yeah! The Wings started to look a bit tired in the third but, the Ducks looked like they did in the first period... like the Energizer Bunny! I thought it was all over but the tears, for the Wings. Hiller was really mad that that last goal was 'good' but the puck was free at the time. Kind of a pay-back for Detroit's 'no goal' in game 3. Now, we'll have an 'Original Six Western Conferance' finals! That, will be another good series. Chuck

Canes did it! Wings, too! Chuck

Hi Jerry! I could really give an ugly response but, out of respect... I won't! As a matter of fact, he had a mid-West accent... Ohio, to be exact! He said he was calling from Cleveland. Damn Yankee! Chuck
-
There ya' go! I'm watching the Wings - Ducks and so far, 'my' team is winning... by only one goal. The Wings are playing better though!

My wife say's computers are 'male' because... when you want them up... they're down! Chuck

Maybe, he got it scared out of him? Chuck

I'm hoping, the Wings can pull-out a win tonight. It's been a tough series and I'd like to see the Wings send the Ducks to the golf course and go-on to face Chicago. If, that happens, that will be a darned good series! Chuck

I have never heard of NRA soliciting by phone, either. I've always considered them 'above' such things. What gets me too is, HR-45 was introduced back in March and scammers are just now hitting on it? Have you read the bill? It's scarey! edit to add: www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-45 (hope, that works) Chuck

Thanks, for that! I try to be real careful when I get calls from phone solicitors. When they 'pressure' for a credit card or bank information, I back way-off. I'm forever getting calls from this or that police organization asking for money. As much as I am in favor of law enforcement officers, I tell them I can't help and hang-up. I looked-up HR-45 and as a gun owner, it's real easy to get riled-up but, I didn't. Thanks, again. Chuck
-
NO! No! Say it ain't so! I'm gonna go hide for the rest of the day. Chuck
-
Twisted... Yes! Plausible... Yes! That's exactly why, I told him to send me an envelope. I'm not giving him any information over the phone. He was quite persistant, wanting a 'donation'... NOW! He played a recording of (supposedly) The NRA president, explaining the bill in question and how they needed to 'fill their war chest'! Chuck
-
...and my problem would be? Chuck
-
I hope, this isn't a re-post but, I recieved a call from (supposedly) the NRA, asking for either a $100.00 or $200.00 donation to help fight HR-45. The caller was a bit pushy to get either a credit card number or a checking account number. I gave neither and told the caller they could send me an envelope and I'd mail them a check. So far, no envelope. I am not an NRA member and have never heard of the NRA soliciting by telephone. Anyone else have this experience? I tried to check it out but found nothing really substantial. Thanks! Chuck

Maybe, you should bet '11' at the track! Chuck

The Pens scored 2-goals twenty some seconds apart in the first minute of the second period! Good grief! Like you, I would liked to have seen a closer game but, the Pens were on fire. I look to see Boston come out on top in their series. Chuck
-
It's plain to see, who wanted it more. Crosby was really getting after it! The kid is pretty impressive. That, was a good game. I'm not a big Pens fan but, that was definately, a good game to watch. Chuck
-
Dayum! Pens are spankin' the Caps! Chuck
-
I must've been thinking of something else and confused myself. I hear so many stats thrown-out by the commentators... my bad! Thanks for straightening that out for me. All in all, these play-offs, both East and West have been well worth watching. Some great hockey! I wanted to see the Wings end their series with the Ducks last night but, they looked like they just couldn't get it together. They looked like they did in game three of this series. Let's see how they do on their home ice. Chuck
-
Now you're talkin'! Chuck

Operation Dumbo Drop - Part Deux! Chuck

Do you believe Boston? Coming from a 3-1 defecit to tie the series? If, they win this series, it will be the first time since about... I think... 1939 a team has done that! Holy Cow! Watching the Wings - Ducks... sheesh... what a nail-biter. Chuck

I heard about Ward! Ouch! Pretty serious stuff. Chuck
