  1. So what? If, his hair doesn't interfere with the performance of his duties, what's the problem. Chuck
  2. "While everyone else is against the death penalty, my state is putting-in an 'express lane.!" Ron White Chuck
  3. The face of the illegal alien from south of our border has changed. The flow of and demand for illegal drugs in this country is bringing those who intend to get into gangs and make their fortune in the drug trade. There is not one single state in these United States that does not have a Latin gang and those gangs are growing...rapidly. The majority of illegals are younger and are not looking to pick peaches. 4. And don't forget - he had rubber gloves on when he tried them on for the jury. Ever tried to put a leather glove on over a rubber one? His theatrics while trying them on were pretty comical. I don't recall that he had a rubber glove on but you're right. It's almost impossible to put that type glove on while wearing a rubber glove. I believe, he killed those two people. The police and prosecution both, thought they had an air-tight case and failed miserably to prove it. I believe too, the fact that the media had such a huge presence that too many involved were too 'taken' with the cameras. It was Hollywood at it's best. I guess, you heard... O.J. stays in jail while he appeals his latest case? Chuck
  5. One part of the trial that I still question was all the theatrics surrounding 'the glove'. That blood soaked, dried and shriveled glove that did not fit O.J.'s hand. Of course it didn't fit! It shrunk-up from being soaked in blood then it dried. I think, the entire trial was just one big circus and everyone knew they were on camera. The prosecution was over-confident and blew it. Judge Ito seemed to be overcome with publicity and appeared like this was the first case he ever presided over. Chuck
  6. "Your" and "you're" are homophones (words that are spelled differently but sound alike). How can you hear a difference? They are pronounced differently. I'll try to eplain... Your is pronounced like 'Yor' as in 'your belongings.' You're pronounced 'yoo-r' is a contraction for 'you-are' as in you're asking a question or you're welcome. Hope that helps. Chuck
  7. I have to admit... the 'your' 'you're' thing gets to me too. I hear the incorrect use on television as well as seeing it in print. I guess, our schools are too busy testing kids rather than being able to 'teach' them. Chuck
  8. When they ask me 'how are you today', I tell them how glad I am they asked then, procede to lay-on the sadest sob story I can think of. They either hang-up on me or say they will call at a 'better' time. So far, those kinda' calls are few and far between. You might ask them if, they are calling from a prison, too. Many telemarketing calls are from phone banks in prisons. Chuck
  9. Too cool! Glad it worked-out! Miss seeing you and Rebecca and a few others here in the forums. Don't be a stranger! Chuck
  10. It would really suck if, your caller ID showed... 'PRIVATE CALLER'. Good luck in your search! Chuck
  11. Yes! I think too, it should be a part of every driver's training course! Over the years,I've seen people reading books, newspapers, eating cheeseburgers and talking on a cell-phone, fumbling through CD's, texting... you name it. It's called driving and it requires one's full attention. The public service announcement in question is definately, an eye-opener and shows what could happen. Too many folks and especially young people have the wild idea that 'it won't happen to them!' As for any gorey details the psa may show, it no worse than most of the movies kids watch. The difference is, the pas tells the truth. Chuck
  12. I think you're thinking of Eunice who died recently. Joan was his first wife. Also forgot Patricia Kennedy, and Jean Kennedy Smith is still alive. Here's an outline that was put together when Eunice died: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090811/ap_on_re_us/us_kennedy_siblings_glance JOSEPH P. KENNEDY JR., 1915-1944 A Navy pilot, died when an explosives-laden bomber he was piloting on a secret World War II mission exploded. Awarded the Navy Cross and the Air Medal. JOHN F. KENNEDY, 1917-1963 A U.S. senator from Massachusetts before he was elected the 35th president of the United States in 1960. Assassinated in Dallas, 1963. Married Jacqueline Bouvier in 1953. ROSEMARY KENNEDY, 1918-2005 Institutionalized through most of her life because of mental disability and a failed lobotomy. KATHLEEN KENNEDY, 1920-1948 Married to William John Robert Cavendish, the Marquess of Hartington. Died in a plane crash; her husband had been killed in World War II. EUNICE KENNEDY SHRIVER, 1921-2009 Founder of the Special Olympics. Married to R. Sargent Shriver Jr., former Peace Corps director and unsuccessful candidate for president in 1976 and vice president in 1972. They had 11 children. JEAN KENNEDY SMITH, 1928- Served five years as ambassador to Ireland in the Clinton administration. Married Stephen Edward Smith in 1956; he died in 1990. EDWARD MOORE KENNEDY, 1932- U.S. senator from Massachusetts since 1962. Married Virginia Joan Bennett 1958; divorced 1983. Married Victoria Reggie in 1992. Thank you! I was trying to remember what i had heard earlier on a news story... I should know better than to trust my memory! Thanks, again. Chuck
  13. RIP and condolences to the clan. Was he the last of his siblings to die? Yes, he was. Joe... the oldest, died in WW-II 2-yrs later, a sister died in a plane crash. Another sister died after a lobotomy. John was assassinated as was Bobby. Joan, died recently. Ted, being the last. Chuck
  14. Yeah! Where's the 'Anvil' when you really need him! Chuck
  15. Actually there is. No one is forced to buy insurance. You can pay for medical care yourself if you prefer. Pick the doctor you want and go. Hell, a lot of docs give discounts to people paying cash instead of using health care insurance. Saves 'em money and keeps 'em from having to wait for reimbursenment. Sounds like free market to me. I have paid cash for medical care and it turned-out to be cheaper than my insurance deductable! Chuck
  16. He didn't make the point... commondreams.org made the point. Chuck
  17. I'm so sorry to hear this. I know how you must feel. I lost a really good horse a couple years ago and we have a little spaniel mix dog who doesn't have long. We've had her over 15-yrs. Animals can really become a part of a person and family. It's really rough to lose them. Chuck
  18. Les and Leo Fender were good friends. When Fender was in the process of introducing his first electric solid-body, he called-on Les Pausl for help and advice. It was Le though, who introduced the 'humbucking' pick-up. When Chet Atkins recieved his first Gretsch guitar, he took-out their pick-ups and used Les Paul style pick-ups. Les Paul was very influetial in the guitar business. Chuck
  19. I heard that he had passed-away while listening to the radio, while I was driving and it really choked me up. I thought of all the times as a kid, I saw he and his (then) wife, Mary Ford on the old 'Ed Sullivan' show. I'd watch them play. I was mesmerized. I guess, the Good Lord needed another good picker. Thank you Sir, for all you did. Chuck
  20. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Yup, that too! I do think, he needs to realize that the world of football does not revolve around him! Why? It's not like he's an unknown to the team, or like the team has a gun at its head. If he's washed up, but he gets hired anyway, the criticism should be directed at the team that hires him, not at him. He's a job applicant who may or may not be qualified to do the job for the salary he requests. If the employer, with the ability to vet applicant's qualifications, chooses to employ him, but he's less-than-qualified for what he'd be earning, the criticism should be directed at the employer, who has the final decision to hire or not, not the applicant. Good enough. Chuck

  22. Brett should've just retired from the Packers (as he did) and left it at that. He was 'on top' now, he's just an older player trying to re-live his 'glory days'. Chuck
  23. It's as good as a Javelin, just not as pretty. Both rigs were deisgned by Mike Furry. Both have issues with non-belly to earth orientations in older configurations (you wouldn't want to sit fly with an ROL pilot chute pouch equipped javelin). I agree with you about the Dolphin. They are good, reliable harness-containers with excellent customer service. Like you said, they aren't pretty but, the workmanship is spot-on. I have no idea how many Dolphins I sold, inspected, assembled and packed and never heard a complaint. I've jumped them and found them quite comfortable. Chuck
