They either don't live along the border or they have their heads in the sand. There are warnings all along the border to not cross it. Land owners and communities along the river know better. Chuck

To me, Texas is not so much Austin, Houston or Dallas. To me, Texas is the rural towns like in 'The Valley', along the Rio Grande, the little towns in 'the Panhandle and in the far-West of Texas. The big cities have the biggest mix of people from all-over. The rural towns have more 'native Texans' and one gets a better 'feel' for Texas. Chuck

It's the home of Willie Nelson, It's the home of Western Swing, When you're down in Texas, Bob Wills is still the king! Waylon Jennings Chuck

I understood that Missouri was the 'meth center' of the U.S.!? Chuck Yup, but, from what I understand, MoMeth is nowhere the quality of TexMeth. I wouldn't know... I'm not into that shit. Chuck

Texas has changed a great deal in the last 10 - 15 yrs. So many people from all-over has changed things over-shadowing 'native Texas' thinking and politics. That's what happens in a 'mobile' society when so many jobs are created and un-employment is high in other parts of the country. Also, Texas is becoming a big retirement area for the 'boomers'. It's not 'good ol' Texas' anymore where it was oil, cattle and cotton. Chuck

The death penalty is not a deterrent... neither is prison for that matter. Bad guys don't commit crimes thinking they are going to get caught. Just the opposite. I think, the death penalty is a form of vengeance on the part of society and our legal system. Is it legalized murder? We do need prisons but do we need the death penalty? For the length of time a prisoner spends on 'death row', might as well give him or her 'life in prison'. Personally, I don't see any sense in the death penalty. As for prisoners sitting in their cell all day, day after day being remorseful for what they've done... no! They're thinking how society screwed them. At least, we know where they are. Chuck

Perry has that constant, 'I'm better than anyone else' smirk on his face that makes you wonder what he's up to! You know he's up to something!!! Chuck

I noticed a reference to Rick Perry for president... Google 'Top Chef Texas Rick Perry' I think, you'll find it interesting. Chuck

Maybe, had he prefaced his statement with the idea he was re-evaluating what he preaches, it may not have come across as it did. (?) Chuck I was thinking it sounded about one step away from retroactive abortion.. it seems there is not so much difference.... for those without a "mind". I thought ole Pat was all about the soul. Anymore... you never know what Pat Robertson is 'about'! Chuck

...or snatch. Chuck I have a really funny story about that ended with a really embarrassed Justice of the Peace signing a search warrant and then an ER doctor "recovering" nearly 10 grams of weed in a brown paper sack. Moral of the story: if you have warrants, don't think you'll make it into the jail with weed in your cooter! At some point I'll tell you the whole store in person, it is funny. I'd really like to hear that story! Chuck

Hi Chuck, You have 'gotten' that right - After all god is an English lass. p.s 'gotten' in in quotes because that there is funny to our Brit ears too :-) My wife tells me that! I'll tell her (jokingly) 'God will get you for that!' Her response... "No She won't!" That there is funny... I don't care who you are! Chuck

I'm not bashing Robertson, I just think that any more, he say's some pretty off-the-wall things. Some folks can't handle some situations, some can. I just feel that if, you really love someone, you don't walk away when things go South. Chuck
