  1. If you have money, get some coached tunnel time. It will immediately make you popular. Yes, and stay away from hot chicks ... too much distraction, my friend ...
  2. I was going to say go to two different DZ's (Deland and Z-Hills) before I realized that you have less than 50 jumps. In this case, it is probably a good idea to spend both days at one dz. I really like all DZ I visited in Florida, but my heart belongs to Z-Hills. go there and you will not regret
  3. I am sorry, but I have to say that all this looks like a bunch of bad advices. Everybody does. Most of the beginners problems with spins are due to uneven legs. That is why toe taps are included to aff training. Most of young jumpers do not use legs at all or use them wrong because they cannot see them. Do you? When I took my first tunnel camp with 350 jumps under my belt I realized that I know nothing about turns. Neutral and relaxed = straight and level. Mine does not. He has problems with turns. Obviously, his knowledge is not sufficient.
  4. I totally support Arlo. If I knew about SkyVenture and impact of wind tunnel training on freefall skills I would go there before making my first aff jump. It is not only about passing aff. Get some tunnel time and you jumps will be so much better when you get your license and start jumping with other people.
  5. There is no generally accepted emergency procedure for PC in tow. Many very experienced jumpers will probably tell you that they would pull silver without cutting the main away.
  6. Folks, I have to say Jessica rocks! Two weekends ago she was creeping for several hours and practicing 4-way exits at mockup and never complained that she is in pain. We will be glad to take you for some relaxing 2- or 3- way if you decide to go to full altitude this Sunday
  7. You will probably be laughing but it does excite me a lot.
  8. I watch Airspeed 4-way tapes every morning before I go to work. This staff never gets boring
  9. I'm quitting to keep the ratio 50/50 Smoking is bad for ya
  10. OMG I was laughing so much my face is hurting now. The Japanese guy is super cool.
  11. Good way to loose a friend. Heather: I hope you'll find it. I know the guy who was looking for his tiny main for a week or so and finally found it.
  12. Meeting a new person on dirt dive before sunset load, boarding on different planes and then meeting this person again as formation builds. Seeing and sharing his/her excitement for few seconds and then getting the hell out, tracking for 2-3K feet. I find this very romantic. The rest will be 4-way for near future.
  13. Hey, don't forget that you still need me till the end of the season
  14. Robin, I heard some rumors that you actually tried this in real life but damn ADD fired before your jumpsuit inflated into a huge air bag
  15. I seriously doubt that. Well, at least not conventional HD big ways. HD formations fall faster and therefore HD bigways will have less time to complete the formation and more potential for level problems. I agree that freeflying RW will become more and more popular but I don think it will eclipse classical 4-way in near future.

    High/Low

High: Haven't smoked for a whole day (yup, it's Monday, a time to start a new life Low: Haven't smoked for a whole day
  17. Thanks again for the nice video you shot for us when we were visiting Z-Hills in October.
  18. It is also a god idea to turn it off before you board on the plane and to put it into place where the phone will not interfere with emergency procedures. For example, cell phone put into right pocket of my RW suite will be way to close to the soft cutaway handle. The phone and the handle are of the similar size, so I do not really want to pull the phone instead of the handle in case of emergency. One more trick I have learned last year is to wear sun glasses during briefing and jump preparation - protects your vision from bright light
  19. Stretch well before you start and make sure you bring some water to drink. Also it helps a lot if you just go there and watch other people train before your time starts. Have fun

    I'm done

Derek, I have never met you in person, but learned a lot from what you post on forums at dz.com. Thank you for being friendly to novices and sharing the knowledge.. Blue skies, Anton
