Have you guys read the TSA nightmare in July's parachutist??
kevin922 replied to kevin922's topic in The Bonfire
Hey perhaps TSA should hire 1 rigger full time for every airport so if they do need to open the rigs, they can get a free re-pack hehe -
I said STILL JUMPING.. not own :) Do you still jump that suit, jackass? (and don't say yes just to prove me wrong.. i've seen your new ride)

Holy smoly! Julie Roache (of San Jose) wrote about a recent nightmare she had flying from San Fran to Tampa.. she checked 2 rigs, when she ended up in tampa she found the reserves and mains had been unpacked, AND they took some type of bolt cutters to the reserve ripcord pins I can't BELIEVE that crap! Ed Scott made a note at the end saying they sent the letter to TSA and TSA had contacted Julie, but i'd like to know "the rest of the story" is TSA going to pay for any of the repairs?? (probably not) i'd say that was grounds for a lawsuit there. -
Anyone who is still jumping a suit with this logo on it needs to get with the program. :)

Different companies do things different ways.. a lot of them are printed on a piece of fabric (parachute material) via whatever means (silk screening) and then sewn on to the skin of the parachute. Others actually silk screen directly to the parachute material. Adding logos typically adds (obviously) to the expense and (not so obviously) to the pack volume. Most manuf. have the option of doing this for you, just call them and ask them. Prices vary based on the size and complexity. Often times images have to be digitized, etc.

that was f'in hillarous!

Your arms can only handle so much force.. bigger wings/more fabric equals more pressure on your arms...

Get this Aggie - I got a call from a company who I did business with a while ago - i had a vehicle tracking system in my name, I never got around to installing the thing cause I was pissed off at the company (long story) anyway they called me and were like "well we heard you sold the unit, but we can't transfer it until you send us written authorization" i was like "huh? I didn't sell the unit" .. i called the guy who bought it (off ebay) he gave me the info of the guy who sold it - the guy said I was his "friend" and had left it at his house.. i was so pissed! I called the guy who sold it, got his mother.. asked for him she was like "oh he's at work" so I asked where he works "oh he works at dulles airport, in security" i was like ahhh ok. So i left a message on his cell phone to callme back, didn't leave my name.. he called me back i was like "do i know you?" he was like "yeah, you know.. uhh.. well maybe you don't" turns out he friggin stole it off my doorstep at my last residence before I even got home.. so I had them send me a new one, I hadn't seen the old one for 6 months then it turned up on ebay! I told the guy (who worked for TSA) that I was out the 300 bucks on the unit because the project I was working on that used it was long since over.. so he could either pay me the 300.00 (he sold it for 100.00) or I could continue pressing charges for selling my equipment on ebay. He paypaled me the next morning. :-)

Man... i can sympathize.. i absolutely can't stand to think about loosing my dog tank. I got him only 1 or 2 years ago, but he is 7 now.. i know 7 is not "old" but he isn't young either. He still acts like a 4 year old, has plenty of energy.. but the idea of loosing him has crossed my mind.. it of course isn't if, but when. good vibes going your way from tank and I.

I think there is a difference between a skydiver and having skydived. To me, a skydiver and being a skydiver encompasses so much more than just jumping. Big woop, you jump out of a plane - have you owed a case of beer? Have you watched (or participated) as large objects were thrown into large piles of burning debris? I'd say these people have skydived but aren't yet skydivers. Just my humble opinion.

Body part found at Kingman water plant Brent Whiting The Arizona Republic Jun. 24, 2003 02:20 PM A human body part has been found at a water treatment plant outside of Kingman, spurring an investigation by Mohave County authorities. Detectives were called to the plant after Kingman workers found a penis in a water filter, authorities said Tuesday. Both the Mohave County Sheriff's Office and Kingman Police Department are investigating, said Jarrod Lyman, a sheriff's spokesman. "We don't have any leads at this point," Lyman said. "We are investigating all possibilities," including foul play. The discovery was made Friday at the Hilltop Wastewater Treatment Facility, he said.
