i swear.. "Pro Sports Services and Halcyon Aviation is offering one of the most unique advertising opportunities available. As professionals in both sports marketing and extreme sports aviation we are offering the following service. We will skydive or base jump off of anything, anywere with your company as the logo and advertisee behind the jump. The jump will consist of all permits, all equipment costs (parachutes and all equipment will bear your company logo and graphics and be completely customised)and any other expenses that occur such as plane costs or building rentals. It will also include a fully edited video commercial along with a fully operable flash oriented website. If you have any other questions please contact us to find out about this unique opportunity. We have the ability and connections to jump into major sporting and music events that would also have your company and it's logo attached to the skydive or jump for incredible advertising purposes." -

Um, well sometimes S*IT happens.. sounds like that may be the case here. From a legal perspective, if you had this in writing (and it was very well documented as to what you were getting and what you actually got, etc) then you could probably take some kinda action - but then again it was an email so i don't know how well that stands up. Guess its one of those buyer beware situations good luck Kevin

Ah.. the postal service sucks. (I hate stupid people)
kevin922 replied to kevin922's topic in The Bonfire
I swear.. today has been a day full of interaction with stupid people. I called verizon to find out about their new walkie talkie service they are rolling out at the end of july, after being on hold for 10 minutes I finally got a human.. she said "yes we are rolling that out at the end of july" i asked "will customers have to buy new phones, or will the existing phones work?" she says hold on, puts me on hold and then the automated system transfers me.. then hangs up on me. Guess that makes my buying decision easy. I'll stick with nextel. Then I get a response back from a complaint to the postal service: Customer (kevin orkin) - 06/21/2003 06:02 PM I would like an official complaint to be filed against the person who delivers my mail to xxxx xxxxxx xxx #102 in Herndon, VA. On 3 separate occasions within the last 8 months I received the mail for apartment 103 and never did receive whatever mail was intended for me on those 3 days. This is very aggravating and really doesn't look good for the integrity of my mail or the USPS. Please email me or call me back to acknowledge this complaint has been processed. Thank you, Kevin Orkin 703xxxxxxx Response (Esther) 06/23/2003 02:23 PM Thank you for visiting our web site. We apologize that you are having problems with your delivery. You may call your local post office and request to speak with the Delivery Supervisor in regards to your delivery. The phone number for your local post office is: (315)942-5683. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Discussion Thread Customer (kevin orkin) 06/23/2003 02:25 PM Explain to me how my local post office could be in NEW YORK (315) when I live in VIRGINIA. Should I just give up on the postal service all together? -
woo hoo i'll be there! with tank and the space suit

An interesting tid-bit of info about gif's: the patent for the GIF expires June 20th, (patent) what does this mean? Graphics software companies won't have to pay royalties to Unisys anymore = slightly lower priced software.

This recent article on jari and the world of birdman found in this month's popular science (june) features a "learn more" link pointing viewers to the http://www.popsci.com/exclusive website. On that website there is a link about Harry Ward, more specifically this one which is on DROPZONE.COM!! COOL!

Uh, it isn't like they are starting the D#s over again are they? What will the difference be? "oo i got my D# when they required 500 jumps instead of 200" ?
