Well to answer everyone's questions: A) it was a stilleto 120, the smallest canopy i had jumped up till then (i've done a 107 now..) while the thought did cross my mind to attempt a landing with it (i weigh 155 out the door) the landing area was muddy and I didn't want to muck up my gear :) B) Yes it was a hop n pop but i didn't cut it away at altitude, the winds were really kicking that day and if I had cut it at altitude it would have been a state over most likely. The video was edited to cut out a bunch of the "extra" footage. I judged it perfectly, the freebag landed on one side of the runway and the main on the other.. (i'm talking the width wise of the runway not the length wise). C) Lesson Learned: Always wear an altimiter! I wasn't wearing one because who needs to know what alititude it is when you do a hop 'n pop? I guesstimated i was around 3,000 when I cut it..

Uh even that doesn't work all the time here. PD hooked my demo canopy up at a boogie using the same method and you can watch the video to see what happened after that :)

Yes D is 100% required as is a SQUARE reserve that is IN DATE. :-) Those who have the qualifications but not the # still have time to pay the 15.00 extra to "expedite"

Nope not mistaken. they did a bunch of jumps.. the one you see is a base jump without the wingsuit then you see them flying with the wingsuits. :) Also the pictures I saw of angelina show the leg straps are misrouted (on the outside of the suit). Curious if that made it into the movie..

Already talked to the organizer on that one.. a big N-O :-) I've been told the wingsuits and the freeflyers are on the same load..

That's because they were using BASE rigs for the (BASE) jump in the movie. Per, and crazy guys just like him all over the world, uses single canopy rigs, popularly known as "BASE rigs" for fixed object parachute jumps. edit: Sorry, I didn't mean that to sound quite so snippy. It just seemed like a weird question to me, and it's been a bad day. how come those suits can only be used for low altitude jumps ? :-) (it's a joke)

I don't think we have any time.. friday we fly in around lunch time and we're doing all the event check in and whatnot.. saturday & sunday are the event and monday we fly out early... :( Kevin

We have a reservation at the best western.. i think it came out to 50 a night or something? Be sure and tell them you're participating in the ballunar liftoff for the 'special' rate.

I think this has been discussed before.. the safest way is to do an escrow account but that will cost some $$ to do. Also sending the rig to a 3rd party rigger adds some "security" though not much. If you do some searching i think there are other topics on this.. Kevin

TB99 and I will be headed to houston august 22 - 25th for a wingsuit demo into NASA (http://www.ballunarfestival.com) curious - is anyone else participating in this or planning on going?
