Only temporarily.. between my drug dog (who sniffs them) and jessie's cattle dog and 2 cats we have enough right now
-
She's doing good... after charcol, iv, and a bunch of fluids she's back to normal. It's the neighbors dog, long story some neglect.. it was his stash as well.. lets just say the dog was not depressed after taking 25 xanx :) Kevin

Hey now, I am just speculating what happens. He could just have become a pro-skydiver or something?
-
So last night/this morning at 4:30 am while i'm sitting in the vet ER for a drug overdosed dog, I was reading through people magazine and saw that good ole Anthony Edwards was doing filming (i think in hawaii), they showed him all dressed up in da kine jumpsuit and a javelin rig (no tandem here!) for the season finale of ER. Looks like it might be interesting, I know he was supposed to have had an accident in HI -- perhaps he was learning to skydive? I think they are killing him off - so maybe he ends up graduating AFF and then screws up with his solo? Kevin

I thought you were supposed to look red (hand on red), look silver, pull red, handon silver / pull silver. ?

Dude I've had 2 dreams very similar to this! Very wierd.. the last one I had i was practicing head down and lost track of altitude looked down and saw the ground coming up real quick didn't have time to dump, hit the ground and got up - nothing wrong with me. thought "hey that was cool, don't have to worry about packing my rig" it scared me shitless (in the dream) and i figured out I didn't turn my audible on.. after that it hit me how stupid I was cause I didn't turn my AAD on as well. THEN it hit me (i guess I do a lot of thinking in my dreams) that I was wearing a camera.. so I went back to review the footage, and it was some kinda wierd ass camera angle where when I was head down you could see my face but also see the ground coming up. Crazy.. the other dream was simlar, walked away from a no-deployment. Wonder what that means? Kevin http://www.interone.net

News Here Pic Here TAMPA - Brace yourself. Starting Wednesday, people who live near Tampa Bay in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties may see a research airplane flying low and slow to collect information on air pollution and how it affects water quality in the region's estuary. It's part of a $2 million state and national study called the Bay Regional Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment, or BRACE for short. Experts from all over the country have zeroed in on Tampa Bay to study weather patterns and air pollution during the month of May, which also is Clean Air Month. The twin propeller-driven research airplane dubbed ``The Otter'' is loaded with sophisticated gadgets, including ``NOx boxes,'' or devices to measure nitrogen oxide, a component of smog. The plane has special clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration to swoop as low as 500 feet from the ground to collect data, said Winston Luke, a physical scientist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The research flights are intended to complement information collected at a ``super site'' weather monitoring station set up in an isolated hay field at the Valrico Waste Water Treatment Plant in eastern Hillsborough County, as well as air monitoring sites at the Gandy Bridge in Tampa and scattered elsewhere in southern Hillsborough and Pinellas County. Flight patterns are expected to include north-south routes along the eastern Tampa Bay shoreline between McKay Bay and Simmons Park in Ruskin, between Clearwater and Azalea Park in Pinellas County and across the Weedon Island and Gandy sites in the middle of the Bay. Scientists hope to use the information to determine how algae-fueling nitrogen gets into the Bay. Some measurements also are geared toward gauging the amount of microscopic dust particles in the region's air that could cause breathing problems. Scientists also hope to use the information to pinpoint pollution sources. The study is being coordinated by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Hillsborough County's Environmental Protection Commission is in charge of air monitoring stations on the ground. -- So I'm wondering how much convincing it would take to get to do some free base jumps from the plane. Hey, it's already paid for with tax money why not! :) kevin http://www.interone.net

Also, another addition to the "do not bring onboard anymore" list is water gear that contains Co2 cartridges to inflate. (Take the cartridge out, or don't bring it on board) Kevin http://www.interone.net

That's a good idea - however it would probably have to be coated with something to withstand the washings.

excuse me if i'm having an ADD moment, but i'm having a hard time following this story. HUH? His carer was in watching a movie? so he didn't actually ask the kid, and the kid was making it up for attention, or he did ask the kid and the kid didn't do it? I thought you said nothing did happen?
-
Holy crap! He didn't have them connected at all? I haven't jummped a birdman suit so i'm not sure the answer to this question... but how in the hell did it hold him in?

If any of you guys are interested, I went to the IMF WorldBanc Protests this past weekend in DC. (The weather wasn't too jumpable) I tried to play photo-journalist and get some pictures. Check them out HERE Lemme know what you guys think :)
-
Okay, I know this is a little late for you guys in the DC Metro area, but I went and saw the IMAX movie Wild California at the air and space museum (the last day of showing was last thursday)... It starts off with a good clip from Troy Hartman and Joe Jennings. I must say the movie was awesome, IMAX made it even better. You could literally feel the D-bag coming out when he deployed.... had some other cool things they do in california such as rock climbing, snow boarding, movie making, and tree hugging. If you can find it showing near you, definately worth going to see. (IMHO that is) Kevin

A potatoe gun? How bout a BIRD LAUNCHER! A remote controlled one, at that. :) For all you outdoorsy types.. what in the HELL do you do with this thing? Is this like the clay pigon for dogs? I can just see Tank barking "Pull!" as I hit the button to release a wild animal. heh heh yeah heh heh.

Hey there is an idea... maybe have an easy touch for weather, touch for dropzone news type thing :) hehe
-
Well if you look closely the kiosk has dropzone.com loaded on it, a kiosk is just a computer that has been hardened for a particular function. This one has a touch screen and a waterproof / spillproof keyboard. So in theory you could locate this out in the middle of your local mall and have people walk up to it and be able to get on dropzone.com . In our case it is a visitor entry system people walk up and register themselves into the company. I remember seeing a picture of a small palmtop computer with dropzone.com on it, believe it was Skybytch's ? Kevin
-
So I got some new hardware in for a project i'm working on at work, thought i'd turn the kiosk project into the dropzone.com kiosk! Check out the pics :) Picture 1 Picture 2 Kevin

I think Jessie and I might come down for a few jumps, but we were gonna come back and do some touristy stuff in DC. See you there.
-
Oh! A picture says a thousand words. I remember you now, I dumped a bunch of my shit next to your rig. Remember commenting on how i liked it. Cool. Kevin
-
Hey Zilla! Just like you i'm stuck here, but next wed. i'm doing an all-day polygraph, hopefully it'll get done early and I can come jump (since i'm already taking the work day off!) :) Kevin
-
Skydive orange! How long does it take you to get to skydive va?
-
Humm.. you live in alexandria? Where do you jump - i'd like to see that setup sometime. I live in Herndon...
-
Oh and on another note, I forgot to point out the other added benefit of having a cat piss on your gear. DZ Cats! Our DZ has more animals than a zoo (including the skydivers of course) running around. (I can't say I'm not partially at fault, I bring tank out with me but he stays in the car and comes out to say hi between jumps) anyway... someone brought it to my attention the other cats at the DZ (who were sniffing my rig) will smell cat A. and piss in the same spot to mark their territory. GRRRREEEAATTT Haven't had that happen YET but only went to the DZ once since i got peed on.
-
both cats are so are both dogs. Kylie, the female australian cattle dog felt it was necessary to hump my leg shortly after I moved in - the doctor said she was trying to show who was boss in the household, another thing that one would think would be gone when they are fixed. :) So no name brands? I'm a little leary of the vinegar / water solution.. don't want my rig stinking another stink. Will check into the vet solution and maybe go to petsmart and sniff around. You're the pet person - what do you think? Kevin http://www.interone.net
