I would probably "accidentaly" shoot him dead and take the money and then turn him in and get the reward. I don't always follow rules.

prescription eyewear revisited, and SportRX models
beowulf replied to Colm's topic in Gear and Rigging
I have a Bonehead Havok that I used for the last year or so. I had a lot of trouble with forward movement in a sitfly with it. I have now bought a sportrx goggles and jump an open face. I bought the G117 model and it seems to work great. I haven't had any problems. My forward movement is much easier with out the fullface helmet catching air. -
Are you going to be at Skydive Dallas this weekend?

I don't think Illinois has a concealed handgun permit

Performance Designs Bad Attitude
beowulf replied to binkster's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Yeah I understand that part, but his call seems to be prompted by your impatience and probably by the tone of your previous emails or phone calls. -
Performance Designs Bad Attitude

True but that approach doesn't go very far. The people on the other end of the phone or email don't generally respond very well. -

I think what Justin is trying to say is that you come off as a selfcentered egotistical person that has no patience. -

Having CCW laws would help lower crime.

I don't know I have information from and impeccable source that never lies or is ambigous that the lawn equipment spoke to him and told him to kill his first born.......umm I mean burn down the Post Office.... Yeah Right burn down the Post Office. Anyhoo he wrote me a book that told me so and talks to me (just me......hee hee) and he is never wrong. by the way he told me everyone is going to die soon and only the chosen ones will survive( hee hee that includes me

The flare will be more like 1 stabbing flare rather then 1 - 2 - 3. If you try the flare that you normally do it will not give you the same result. It would not cause you to plane out like the Sabre2 does. You still don't want to let up on the flare real fast if you are too early as that will cause you to surge forward and you still want to hold it, but just make sure you are not too close to your stall point or it will drop you. It will land steep and won't have any swoop at all. Those are my personal observations from flying my old canopy. Make sure you go over flying that canopy with the instructors where you jump. I am sure they have flown F111 canopies before and will have no trouble giving you better advice on what to do. Disclaimer I am in no way advising you to even jump out of an airplane or fly a parachute at all. I am just relaying my personal experience in landing my old canopy. Take it for what it is worth and listen to your instructors.

If all Lawn equipment were banned this incident wouldnt have happend.

I started out with a PD 9cell 150 and then went to the Sabre 2 150 that I currently have. The PD 9 cell was more diffucult to get the landing right. The flare had to be timed much better then on the Sabre 2. With the Sabre 2 I can compensate for a early flare or even a slightly late flare. The 9 cell has a much steeper glide ratio then the Sabre 2. That makes it easier to be more accurate but harder to make it back on a long spot. F111 doesn't last as long as zero porosity fabric on Sabre 2's.

Well thats just obviously the lawn equipments fault and the post office for have gasoline around lawn equipment just there for anyone to light up. The guys innocent I tell ya! Innocent!

Safe to jump like this or not? (picture attached)

I wouldn't route my chest strap that way. It looks like it would be too easy to undo. -
It gets confusing when you really do want a Coca Cola Coke "What kinda coke you want?" "I wanna coke coke."

I am not trying to say that training is not the solution. I think it is the solution. I agree with you. I just don't think it will totally stop people from panicing and killing or hurting themselves. That will never change. There will always be a few people that will panic and throw everything out the window.
-
You were never in the military, were you? You can train to prevent panic. Derek Nope never went into the military. Also never had a situation where I paniced so bad that I couldn't think of what to do. For some reason when things get really bad I actually seem to get really focused. I have saved my own ass a few times because I didn't panic. I really don't understand those fatalitys where someone has paniced. It just seems to me that those people threw away everything they were taught and did what ever popped into their paniced mind.
-
There is nothing anyone can do to stop anyone from panicing. All the training and rules go out the window when panic takes over. It seems to me that there are alot of people on this forum that seem to think that they can legislate fatalitys out of existence. That will never happen. Skydiving is dangerous and will always be dangerous and people will die. All the rules and training will not stop people from dying, but trying is all we can do. Just don't have false expectations. Personally I think that education is the way to go. If someone will not listen to reason then too bad so sad. This is an adult sport and I refuse to treat anyone like a child. If they want to fly that sub 100sqft canopy into the ground then go for it. Everyone has deal with their own consequences.

He lived a long life. better then a lot of people. Hope I live that long.

kiss my ass that is a mild version of what I first thought when I read this.

It was probably my fault. I like to stir the pot every so often. Just for fun. Oh well.

no religion or belief can claim a moratorium on 'spirituality'. Quite clearly (to everyone but her parents and the zealots) her spirit is no longer present. Or would you argue that the things that make her unique from everyone else are still present and trapped inside the husk that reamains? if "God' cared 'He' would have let her body die when her mind did 12 years ago... instead of putting her parents through 12 years of unending grief and sorrow. She's been gone for a long while... but her parents just cant seem to let go because the shell still moves... and that is the saddest part of all... i wonder if the people arguing for the parents have completely missed their statements as to exactly what they would be willing to do to keep her alive... by any and all medical means, including amputation should it become necessary due to her deteriorating condition apparently they’ve lost the capacity to think rationally on the issue of their daughter’s best interests….hope can be terrible thing... There is no god. God was the figment of someones imagination used to enslave people. Look at all the slaves to invisible gods all around the world. Many do great and violent things in the name of their invisible god.
