If I were to buy an AAD at this moment I would get a Vigil. From what I have read and been told the cost of ownership is less then the Cypres. There is no expiration, no 4 month or 8 month inspection and the life expectancy is 20 years. That to me makes the Vigil worth more.

damn that is about what my sitfly speed is at. I would never want to through out going that fast. At those speeds you won't be able to jump with most people. Why would you want that kind of speed on your belly?

I jump just about every weekend. generally about 5 to 6 jumps occaisonally more. Depends on how much money I have.

Hate all sound effects on any of my computers. The are cool for the first couple of minutes then they just aggravate the shit out of me. So my computers are all quiet unless I am playing music or videos.

Interesting, I like to look back on a close call and evaluate just how much of my surviving was my skill or just dumb luck. Also I like to evaluate my decisions leading up to it. Those are most often what caused me to be in a bad position. I feel that evaluating close calls like that will help prevent me from being in those same situations again or at least keep me aware of it.

No you can't hear the beeps under canopy if the Neptune is being used as a wrist mounted altimiter. Use it as an audible and you will be able to hear the beeps.

All the Sony HC models are 25 mm threads. That wide angle lense would work on those. In fact that is what I am currently using. The only down side to that lense is that it is not low profile. It sticks out more then say a Royal lense. But not so much that it is totally unusable.

I bought my HC 20 at Fry's but I don't think there are any in Illinois. You should be able to find one at any retail store, but it will probably be the HC 21. The HC 20 is now the old model. Sony discontinues models pretty quickly. I didn't get the cut away. I don't have a still camera or a ring sight so I didn't feel that it was necessary to have the cutaway. I did get the cameye and had them install it. I recommend getting the cameye and having them install it for you. It can be a lot of work to install it your self. I live in Dallas, TX but born and raised in Northern Illinois.

Check out the FF2 from 2kcomposites. I just bought one and am loving it. I bought the Sony HC 20 and I am very satisfied with its quality. It isn't the best but it is good enough for me. I am using a Sony .6 wide angle lense. All in all it only cost me about $1,000. Not bad for my first helmet and camera.

My first night jump was pretty wild. I opened up right over the top of a small town and didn't know where the dropzone was. By the time I found it I was too far away to make it back. Had to decide whether or not to land near lights or in a blacked out area. I chose to land in a blacked out are that I thought might be empty. Turned out I was right and it was a soccer field. I was really sweating that choice But it was very exciting. Landing in the dark was a lot easier then I thought it would be. Looking down at all the lights and trying to decide where to land was very scary. -
I currently do a lot of lotus notes development and some admin work, but most of the admin work I have now pushed off to a coworker. Before when it was just me I did nothing but Lotus Notes admin work. I prefer the development. OK OK I guess I should be more specific like everyone else. wake up at 10 till 6am hit snooze a couple of times then finally drag my ass out of bed at about 5 after 7 and shower, shave, dress go to work. Then start up computer get coffee and check email and dropzone.com then continue on working on whatever projects currently on my list. Right now it is SOA approval app., Payroll reporting app. and synergy automated order entry. All are mostly finished except the Payroll. I need some more data entered into our ERP system so that I can test my software. Still running tests on the auto entry and the SOA is now ready to roll out.

I just got my FF2. I made the mistake of showing to the president of my company and he walked around the office wearing it! But he still won't skydive. Go figure. Can't wait to put this helmet to use this weekend.

Not when you consider how many of them have to die in order for them to kill that many of our troops. That ratio pretty damn high in our favor.

The pilot that was flying the plane was able to reach out to the step. If he had a hook knife he would have been able to cut the guy free.

Network Administrator I have never had any interest in drugs, other then alcohol. You find that there are some skydivers that do drugs. But in my opinion there doesn't seem to be any more or less than the over all average percentage of those that do use drugs.

hacking the Neptune protocol would not be too diffucult compared to say the PS2 or Xbox. a simple com port monitor would be half the work.

How often do you pack yourself?

There have been very few times that I have hired a packer. I always pack for myself. When I bought my Sabre 2 I paid for a packer the first 50 jumps on it because it just took way to long for me to pack it. Now when I do buy a new canopy I will pack it myself. I am much better at packing. -
Evolution is still just an unproven idea. No one actually knows anything about how humans evolved. Everything is just best guesses from very limited information. I wouldn't call any of that fact quite yet. Having said that I would put a lot of probably and possiblys in front of anything having to do with human evolution.

I would like to see the evidence of this. Off hand this looks like bullshit to me.
