LMFAO as for whining you seem to be doing that quite well,First illegitimate President, then mentally unfit,a rigged election, an agent of a hostile enemy, but your still with Her..
-
So do you mean to say it was worse then,so how do you contend with the fact that you believe the future will be worse than the past? You and I seem to hate coal but, how do you justify the 11 new mining industries for rare earths elements to build your "renewable technologies".Seems pretty hypocritical to hate one form of mining and promote others? The idea of unleashing entire new mining industries on our planet all powered by fossile fuels in order to save her, seems ironic.

its blasphemy. Its too funny.... There is no fear, hate or bullying in this video, just humor and reality. She's the only one peddling Fear Hate and Bullying.Perhaps some are too jaded to see it. As for the American right, well, the bumpersticker plastered next to exhaust pipes, saying "Fuck you Greta" didnt come Americans. "We are in the beginings of a Mass extinction moment." thats what she said.Is that enough fear? How have we, "stolen her dreams, and her childhood with empty words"? I think her parents did a fine job at that. Then the Acadamy award performance of: Economic growth is a fairy tale. bravo "Get a haircut and get a real job! If these are the future leaders of America, then . . . this guy is saying exactly the same thing about our future that your parents said about your generation's future." Wrong, my parents wanted the same as I,a balance.Green for the Planet ,Peace for humanity. The end to factory whaling, fishing quotas, the end of atmospheric nuke testing, catalytic converters, conservation, recycling, and the end of pollution, and toxic waste. We agreeded on most enviromental issues. We didnt thrash the planet we cleaned it.

Same here, in Santa Clarita Ca. all our busses and our trash trucks run on nat gas by Waste Management. It truely has Improved our air quality. I find it funny that its still looked apon as a Dirty Fossil Fuel.Even the name, Natural gas is under attack.Methane sould sound more problematic, so be it.

Considering we dont see eye to eye on most subjects in this topic.I'm amazed how much we do Agree. Except for; "We are already at 32% and that has already paid dividends in terms of air quality and the economy." The Air quality part, is laughable.Just ask some of the old farts about the air quality in So.Cal.It was cleaned up, long before "renewables or solar". Smog for the most part hasn't been an issue since the late 80's and by the early 90's eradicated. "Getting the last 10% is a hundred times harder (and more expensive) than getting the first 50%." Again couldn't agree more.

Musk wont go bankrupt.Elon will be just fine, LOL Mom and Pop shareholders not so good. His following are too emotionally invested into their ideology, and won't allow it.They are willing to give up their children literally, for the cause. Tesla can bleed billions from profitable SpaceX business segments for years. A modern day Fisker, deeper pockets.

Dude, thank you!! Straight up... intellectually honest. Hell ya,thats what I'm talking about..Get rid of all subsidy now.. but I'll look into that OCI. But, the Ca. Gov't mandated the use of renewables, forces utility to buy solar and wind regardless of the costs to customers, environment, viability or extent to which it will solve the perceived problem. The bill specifically requires that 50 percent of California's electricity to be powered by renewableresources by 2025 and 60 percent by 2030, while calling for a "bold path" toward 100 percent zero-carbon electricity by 2045. ... Previously, Californiahad mandated 50 percent renewable electricity by 2030. agreed as well as mandates.

Ahh, a little physics and philosophy. Was that intended as a little poke at a "non believer " ,someone that's Not capable of understanding your brand of magic ? Or is it that.. No one could refute the physics or the physicist, Mark Mills.Or The truth, revealed in the absurdity of the GND, its' viability, and the viability of renewables,or a carbon free future. I suggest you watch this one too. Perhaps its your ideology the science of ideas; the study of their origin and nature. ARCHAIC visionary speculation, especially of an unrealistic or idealistic nature. "I'm not anti renewables, I'm pro arithmetic"
-
Why do you insist on thinking America is Sunny SoCal? Your the solar guy, how much power does solar produce when its cloudy?
-
The topic of this thread was Mark Mills Logic and the GND,Vermont was mentioned.I just stayed with it, you lived there.Thought it would help you think more clearly about the winter weather. The cloud cover and viability of living without the benifits of fossile fuels which would include wood. I grew up in CT, I know what winters are like too. When you dont see the sun for a week.3 Ft. of snow and ice.You live on a solar panel, without a fire.Aint gonna happen. I glad you would hitched up.It's great when we actually agree. His message was if you really care about CO2 than Nukes are the logical answer.I would agree with all your statements. Except,'where renewables will work better than" anyhow lets stay, where we agree. The environmental movement is not your dads' movemnt They are the ones that oppose to everything but renewable.Hydro and nuke, is basically carbon free but they oppose it. Look where this conversation went, Completely carbon free. I just picked up a $20 tank of propane,I'll cook with it all summer long.Grilling is fun and all, but my families life doesnt depend on it. Unfortunately thats not the case for billions around the world.Human Life is dependent on Inexpensive energy to survive and hopefully thrive.
-
I'll keep an eye on option pricing and PM you on any big volume. 5 year return 0%,down 50% from its high, damn it is a stinker. $188 is the bottom,if it breaks below that for more than three trading days, LOOK OUT BELOW. "Trade Wars" and Tariffs could be the black swan.
-
Fun how certain perspectives in history can repeat itself.Americas dependents on foreign oil to American dependents on REE from CHINA!! LOL Your not actually shorting it, are you?
-
The coversation wasn't about living on the ISS,Its about staying alive in dead of winter in Vermont, on renewables, in the context of the GND. I still can't comprehend the use of the term "renewable batteries."Kinda like a renewable gas tank, but any who... I meant, your solar panels and battery packs wouldn't last the winter on their own.Theres no way to run a fridge, wash cloths, dishes, light, heat water, heat your home, and cook all your meals,Oh and charge your car. its impossible. The GND equals majical thinking. Whoa.. I thought this was an intellectual conversation based on science, about energy, AGW and the GND Pipe dream, the later, I'm going to indulge in right now, before I retort..
-
The astronauts on the ISS do - and they are in a far more dangerous environment than I am. So yes, I'd bet my life on them. Mental athleticism, you deffinatly never spent a winter in Vermont. I think you forgot, space dont have No clouds, rain or snow.

Well if you Remove the Last Picture of ENVIROMENTAL TERRORISM. Caused by a piece of shit Rabbid Human, that was Pinned in a corner, contemplating its own demise then... I would say they look the same, except for the spinning pinwheels of moral righteousness, atop all those dericks. I thought enviormentalist Hated mining.I do in any form, unfortunaty we must weigh the risk and benifits.Risks we Can't or Dont want to see, We have created a new monster. As if mining wasn't bad enough. We the collective idiots. Have decided to unleash an Entire new mining Industry, just more diverse. Just guess where the majority of these essential R.E.E. In places that could care less about the enviroment,or human life,Workers rights safety https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/a3mavb/we-dont-mine-enough-rare-earth-metals-to-replace-fossil-fuels-with-renewable-energy

The point was missed completely you were supposed to skip past 130 And since this is my backyard you seem to think that it’s wonderful most of you see it as a vast desolate lifeless area but . ramifications and impacts are abound. Even the raging wildfires are stopped here .most would think that’s a good thing but that’s further from the truth Fire is essential in this ecosystem for it to thrive

Awesome! 1:30 start point to avoid in your face blood and guts

So you honestly think oil for fuel will last forever? Honestly? We've Been Incorrectly Predicting Peak Oil For Over a Century If we were talking about all hydrocarbons and in all form, then Yes. As far as Oil, No. I'll agree with you, one day.... I believed that in the late 70's, I was wrong. In the 80's, I was wrong. Then in the 90's.I was wrong again. So, Iv'e been made a fool. Then in the late nineties when all hope was lost, that America would be dependent on other nations. New Inovativation and technology developed that were imposibilities just decades ago.

For those who don't live near a wind farm. These images are from the Tehachapi wind farm in SoCal. What reaction or emotions do these images invoke.
-
Thats exactly what I intended..... glad you picked it up. Weclome brethered to the GND.lol
-
Bill I admirer your fortitude, and mental athleticism. You simply refuse stay on course in your own use logic or like most, just decide to ignore it.Skillfully snaking your way around any question better than most politicians. 'Peak oil' was a bad fail theory dating back to the late 60s. It inferred that the only hydrocarbons we have are in the form of "proven reserves".With the advent of 3D seismic imaging, horizontal drilling, fracking technology we now have more proven reserves, than when oil was first discovered. No mention of the vast supply of nat gas we didn't even know we had or were impossible/uneconomical.No mention of innovation or different resources. The logic of Hydrocarbons being a finite, is sound,on its face. But it ignores Everything else .Technology, inovation even greed.Seriously flawed. With a little introspect into an alarmist veiw of the apocalypse, runaway warming and the release of methane hydrates, we find another resouce we didnt even know we had. They cost more than just $$ and you didnt mention how you were going to keep your childern from freezing to death. Would you bet your life on a couple more battery packs or solar panels? Argeement again, yes. Thanks for being honest. We still destroy the enviroment for energy.https://www.statista.com/statistics/268011/top-countries-in-rare-earth-mine-production/ Awsome side step from rare elements to Cobalt. I'll just let it go.. did you add fracking as a typo?,I'll assume you did.

My Apolgies to those offended. "The Green New Deal" If you could buy your salvation, for your prosterity, for the sake of humanity, and for the miracal that is our natural world, what would you pay? Drum roll please... Well for just $93 Trillion Dollars Salvation can be had. That right folks! May sound a bit steep, but think of what you'll get!!! For just 15 easy annual payments of EVERYTHING. If you can't pay it, no prob, we'll have your prodigy co-sign.They're worth it,and so are You. I'm with Her. No shit. The cost of the GND is estimated at "93 Trillion" divide it by total federal revenue at about 6.5T.

Blah,Blah. thanks. I've been Inlighted.Thanks. ,Edit: Anyway, I listened to the TED talk and I'm familiar with the speaker. He's a lobbyist for the nuke industry and his TED talk was just more blah blah blah blah. After 40 years of service it was falling apart. It was expensive. No shit. Compared to what? The apocalypse, or the 93T price tag for a pipe dream that is the GND? He's a lobbyist for the nuke industry and his TED talk was just more blah blah blah blah. This seem to be a recurring theme, if dont like the message, dismiss the messenger as a morally bankrupt, contenpable money hungry Lobbyist. Or just attack the messengers motive, intellect and their education. So liberal and progressive.

There IS a problem with global warming... it stopped in 1998
richravizza replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
LOL I find it quit amussing in the context of AGW debate and its role in "Extreme weather".I find the sensationalism extremely dependent on ignorance, on multiple fronts. Politics ,media, sensationalism, fear and loathing simply don't hold up in a court of law.
