Whether Tandem,AFF,Solo/Coaching,RW,FF. I did them all at Taft!!I received all my training at Taft(thank you Scotty) and feel MY Safety was the #1 Priority. Calm and Cool AFF instructors(Ty & Joseph) Didn't even Flinch when I BALKED the Exit.Their Calm attitude, and Professionalism allowed Me to complete an otherwise flawless AFF Jump.They ensured I was prepared for each jump and it's Targeted Learning Objective.No Drill Sgt. BS here. Instructors,Staff,Coaches,and Licensed Skydivers seemed to take a personal interest in my training,and progress. I have never met a "Sky God" at Taft. A number of times while nervously waiting to board for my solo jumps. Expierenced Licensed Skydivers would ask what I was working on, and would "Plan a Jump and Jump the Plan" with me!!(Thanks Mel,Vodoo,Wayne,Cindy,Kyle,John) These people give Selflessly to Keep this Sport Save, Alive, and Growing Well. The"A" License Proficieny Card seemed a Co$tly and daunting task,Not so at Taft.(thanks again Mel, Ken, Mike) Praise should also go out to the DZO Dave Crouch,without him none of this is possible.He's a busy man but never too busy,for question,concerns or complaints. Dude, Welcome, Ijust started myself. After your AFF jumps @ about $200 X 7 OR 8. iT GETS MUCH CHEAPER I generaly save $50 a week {cost the same as my wife & I Bowling League}and jump every other weekend to stay current. 50 for a rental rig, 25 a jump ticket, Learn to pack, & pack for yourself. I'll jump 3 or 4 times and tell my wife LOOK I ONLY SPENT $50 Bucks The only problem is trying to justify buying GEAR! She' cool with me spending 2 SAT. a month at the DROP ZONE Doing something I LOVE!!

Hey peaches87, My instructor told me befor the jump."I fail more student on this jump than ANY OTHER because they're having so much FUN they Forget to pull on time"Sure as shit, I'll pull @5k,I told him. Well!!!, I tracked counted in my head1,2,3,4,5,I was patato chipping,that sucked ALT.CHECK. I'm @6.5K I'll do a better one 1000,2000,3,4,5, yaa! much Better, ALT.Check 4.8KPULL!!! I didn't Wave and threw as fast as i could. If it wasn't for the quick reaction, without a wave off. I would have had to repeat the jump. THIS 200ft.miss step SCARED THE SHIT OUT OF ME. Hope you learned from this. I did. P.S. hope this didn't mess with your head too much and you keep going.

AWARNESS ie.broken/stuck /inaccurate Altimiter. Should I get an audiable as a back up with the helmet ? I dont mind waiting to save and get'm Both PS. I didnt look down to much(stundent), so just looking down is new disorenting.i dont have the skill to judge where i'm at I do know the ground starts to LOOK BIGGER

welcome, i did my first tandem at s.d. s.b. thanks to my 71 yr. yr. old father in law .(his bucket list). I've always loved flight.Never thought jumping out of a plane was part of the dream I'd have since I was a child. the whole thing was great! was Victor there? he was my T.M. I 've been hooked ever since !He let me Fligh the canopy a while, & pull !!!! Professional staff!! I started my AFF at Taft, Feel kind of Guilty because my first jump was at S.D. S. B. the Veiws are GREAT !!! The Pacific , VandenburgAFB ect. Taft is soooo much closer, came to love the feel of the VIBE there TOO!!! I've been in a new light, the whole AFF program was awsome. every jump!!! the first sooo fricken Scary' Fcked up the exit count thanks guys for making me get it right!! second was a perfect sunset load with line twists WHOO!! third at a different D.Z. ( NEW CUYAMA) i was shiten bricks . This weekend is my AFF4 .. YAAA 2009

I just completed AFF3, next is a release w /2 jm's. it'll be a while with work, holiday's, money ect..Till i can jump again. Found a tunnel w/ a4min. special.so Once a week I go for 2, 2min. shots. Shouldnt i break it up to one min.I loose track of time in the tunnel.Idon't want to train myself to be atlitude UN-aware!!!!

I coudn't believe how hard it was to pull the rip cord on my TM 's back. I locked on my ALT@6k waved @5.5k.First pull nothing OH SH***! Second HARDER dummie nothing ??!!OH F*** THIRD GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT OR ELSE!!!! YAAAA!!! Right @ 5K I'm 180 and hit the gym 3days a week. Damn I don't Know How a 120lb. lady could have done IT
