but your "540" is actually more than a 720 with a 90-left correction at the end It's the opposite correction that killed your distance and speed, Can't really say that your accuracy was off, because you may have missed Brandon by a foot and I am sure that the point of the swoop was to get the video. but in the end this was a perfect example of why we on tour don't throw turns more than 270 (with few exceptions). Andy Anderson and Mikeal Stevens throw turns like this on tour. ya, i said above, i knew i needed to wait, but i kinda had to move a bit to the side so i wouldn't hit him, and i haven't tried doing any sort of carving on rears yet, and i didn't figure that i should when i was coming so close to bradon. yup, i let up a bit early, oh well well, that's good to know, i'll keep working on it, i'm sure i'll have a couple more vids to post with some better swoops on them. later -
oh, well (maybe i missed it) but i didn't see were you were going in ohio. later

i agree to a point. but what it really comes down to is skidding requires less work, and if the ground wasn't as muddy as it was, i would of be skidding on my feet, but when i did it the day before, my shoe kinda sunk in, and i about fell, so i decided it wasn't a good idea because the ground wasn't any drier later -

ya, kevin, you should of been out. it was all warm and all that, nice, no wind. hell, i almost went to altitude, but then i got a bit cold just wearing shorts on the hop'n pop, so i desided not to. later -

your right, i asked. but, i only have like 15 jumps under the canopy, so i don't have everything timed just perfect yet. and to shutting it down, it really isn't shutting it down, if you have to skid on your feet, that just means you don't run . but i usally can get the other vx's that i have jumped to stop completely, or just take a few steps. and there also was no wind that day, so what ever . i'm not sure if a 270 or 360 would go twice as far, but they may go further. if i get the 540 timed just right, it should go much further than what i did, i kinda over cranked a bit , that's why i had to come back 90. hey, and 540's are more fun damnit . i did 270's with my fx, and 360's and 540's and all that. i got pretty much the same swoop out of all of them, maybe the longest from the 360. but hey, thanks for the opinion. i did ask -
that's funny hahahahaha later

dude, you have a crossfire, you just shit out of luck for a fast opening . my buddy vern, when doing low hop'n pops exposes the nose a lot, like, pulls it out and like vans it to the side. and leaves the slider all the way in the back of the pack job. the speeds it up some, but not much. later

skygod7777 replied to skygod7777's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
why do you say it looked unnecessarily dangerous?? because it was a 540??? it wasn't low that's for sure. but yes, i could do the same swoop, probably more accurate (like in a lane) with a 270, but i really like the 540's, there fun. later -

well, i usally will sleep, or try to. or have conversation. or talk about the jump because i just barily made the load, and don't know who/or what i'm going to do, other than freefly or play rock, paper, scissors to see who wins (we get all excited when we win, it's pretty dumb though i guess) i don't really have any songs going through my head later

do you think i should change anything in your opinion (i would be holding the rears longer, but i kinda had to move a bit to the side so i wouldn't hit brandon, and i haven't done much carving on rears, or at least around people ) heres the vid http://www.jumpinduo.com/vids/kellyswoop.wmv right click, save target as or what ever. hell, just let me know what you think of it. later -
well what do you think

i remember from another thread, he said he was doing 270's under a stilleto @ 1.8 i believe. and he said he was consistant. later
-
i would say the light wing loading is doing it. if it's not diving off to one side or the other, then i wouldn't worry about it. you can control it with rears. hell, i jumped a xaos 27, 78 sq ft @ 2.3 or 2.4 (i can't remember) and i had end cell closure one 2 jumps, now that was odd. later

hehe, i didn't even know it was st. patricks day untill someone told me at school (where i'm at now). i need to pay more attention to the date. later

jess, damnit, your just trying to be difficult. just to dissagree with me huh but, i would say, you would have less riser input, and it would be a slower turn because of that (not whipping you as far out, it would be more like a carve than a hook). but hey, it's just my opinion, and opinions are like assholes................everone has 1 and they all stink later

just out of curiosity, why did you go with the comp cobalt. i mean, it really won't swoop as fast/as far as the crossed braced out there. if it was, then everyone would be jumping them in competion. it seams to me, you down graded in performance from you vx. now i can understand if you got it because you do a lot of work jumps, like video, aff, what ever, you wouldn't really want a crossed braced for that for some of the really long spots, more consistent openings, or what ever. but can you please explain why, if you don't want to that's fine, i'm just wondering
