Well, now you have 2 of your reservations accepted. You're just a little social butterfly aren't you?? Never seen a grey butterfly?dooh!! -
That post made his posts equal to his jumps. Looks like most people missed that. Other than pisfish Kris. Actually your just late to this thread - when Tonto first posted this, the numbers did not equal, his posts were less than his jumps.

Wait'll you get to know skinny better, then you'll understand... I, popsjumper, hereby decry and proclaim the reservation of a slot on all SCR jumps with you, J and Stan and Derek. Note to self: Do NOT get too blitzed to pour beer on the maggots next year. I hereby accept your reservation and promise to drag your ass to the ceremony, blitzed or not!! -
Absolutely HATE the holidays. -Anyone else?
upndownshop replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
Holidays weren't so bad up until 2000 when my father passed. Kind of a tough time line. Imagine this: parents married 35 years, father was 3 months into his 65 birthday. 10-1 my birthday 10-14 father passed 10-31 brothers birthday 11-23 sisters birthday thanksgiving-empty chair christmas empty again news year again empty 2-14 valentines day (mother is reminded again) It was really tough the first few years, it does get better with time. I know there are others with "real"suffering compared to ours so I try not to get too down. But its hard to see my mother during these times, she is a strong lady and always keeps going but I do worry about her. As my parents taught us, keep smiling, its just a phase, it will change. It always does. however I do enjoy seeing the smiling faces of friends kids when they show off their new toys. wish I had some of those toys when i was a kid. Hope everyone does have some great holidays, whether you celebrate or not. -

Mishap Possibility - Z1 Helmet
upndownshop replied to flyhi's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I was thinking something like that too. I have a ton of jumps on my last one. I have seen a moveable ring site that was moved over to the side and catch a riser on landing but that was an easy fix. He walked away btw. -
I could have my terms (classification) confused, but I do know that is how the pilot explained it to me. I dont claim to be an expert. Yes B-17 ,B-24 that would be nice!

Is it possible to get a pic or a more detailed description on what you did. Sounds like a good idea. -
Mishap Possibility - Z1 Helmet
upndownshop replied to flyhi's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Why you got one you want to give me? Still with out a helmet. Mine took an early retirement without my permission, oh well it was only about 9 years old.. -
They fall under the experimental rules(USA), which means that you can take an "instrutional" flight..but nowhere does it say you have to land with it. I have 2 "instructional" flights in one, and a Barrell roll

No kidding! What a shame that pic was probably taken in the late 70's or early 80's and Smitty was probably about 85 at the time. I was 12-14 and I think that was Muskogee(sp) OK. during Nationals. Hmm Buddy look as old as Smitty back in the 70's when Buddy was only 40. Hey Jerry got any old photo's? Got a project. J

Hey Russell did you notice that C-172 in the back ground? I grew up in 42H, when i turned 16 dad let me solo. So we went up and he jumped from 4k so my first solo was actually as a jump pilot. Oh, sorry dont know where Joanie is.

Once again my jump bunny is correct. Steve said that the temp trailer area will have water and sewage hookups, along with 12 new slots by SF 06. He is also working on expanding the packing area, which means a larger Air Condition packing area!!! -

The Dates You Have Been Waiting For (SF06)
upndownshop replied to upndownshop's topic in Events & Places to Jump
For 5 years SkyFest has always been on the 3rd weekend in July. Guess what – IT STILL IS! This year we are growing and will be bigger and better than before. We have extended the dates from July 12-17, 2006. Skydive Spaceland has made tremendous improvements at the drop zone. Namely, a paved runway and taxiways. For pictures of their growth, go to www.SkydiveSpaceland.com/news.html. While we are still focusing on RW, we have expanded the focus on freeflying as well with the Headdown Invitational Texas State Record (contact Trentalkek@yahoo.com for more information) and the introduction of the TeXXas 20-way Headdown Patch. Come out and be among the first to receive one! The flight line consists of 9 aircraft with more to come! Over 12 manufacturers will be on hand with demos and auction gear. Their donations go directly to the skydiving scholarship fund. We have never had vendor fees, so why would this year be any different? Our website is currently being overhauled and should be updated soon. We will be honoring the memory of Bob Buquor, one of the first camera men, who died in July 1966 – 40 years ago this coming SkyFest. We will be celebrating his life and accomplishments with Bill Newell, founder of the SCR (Star Crest Recipient) award, specialty SCR jumps, and as usual the world’s largest SCR ceremony. For more information about the SCR go to http://www.scr-awards.com/. We will have many more announcements throughout the year. Remember what SkyFest is all about: It’s ALL ABOUT YOU and giving back to the sport we love so much. SkyFest: The boogie that “Pays It Skyward”. Thank you for your support. Any questions? Edit: Here is a list of the confirmed manufacturers for the event. We will be adding seminars to the schedule as it works out. For a complete list of events that they will be attending go to their website, I believe most of them have their schedule posted. So far to date: Sun Path Products Performance Designs Relative Workshop HiPerUSA Velocity Sports Equipment Alti-2 Vigil Phoenix Fly Single Helix Sky Systems Tony Suit Parachute Systems Strong Enterprises Applied Deceleration Pony Printing BirdMan more to come... The total number of sponsors and prizes list is even greater. The prizes will be auctioned off during the event. The website is getting updated soon. Keep an eye on it. -
Custom made harness/containers??? / need advice
upndownshop replied to Zydrius's topic in Gear and Rigging
maybe you could have your dealer measure someone up, then that same person go get measured by the manufacturer (if possible) to see if they are the same. If not the same numbers then maybe the dealer needs to be taught how to measure, and he should help fix the problem. If they are the same then I would have to look at the manufacturer to fix the harness for free. Just my thoughts good luck
