  1. Is there any way we can push it back a couple more? I feel like i am way behind. Of course I feel like that every year as it gets close, and everything works out. But i am getting skaired....again..
  2. Lee shut up and GO AWAY!!!! god i love telling you that.. big smile on face
  3. Mary, I know that namgrunt has good intentions in his post and yours as well. Bob is a very nice man who is somewhat new to the sport and his wife is coming along as well. I kinda just have been sitting on this post watching. I have mixed emotions about this thread being that I have busted my ass for the last 5 years and sometimes even been "busted" because of it.(money wise) We all work hard in the events we support, we all want them to be successful. All SD events. The more successful all the events are, the more the sport grows. Everyday skydivers give back to the sport worldwide., in their own ways. Some are similar some are different. I have been to the last 6 WFFC, and in the last two years I have been to about 40 other events. Everyone one I go to I hope for a perfect safety record, good weather and lots of jumps. Unfortunately it doesnt always happen. I may just be rambling now but there is alittle competition especially when the dates are close to each other. DO I want SF to grow, you bet, do I want Rantoul to shrink, NO! Do I like being compared to Rantoul, yes and no. We have 16 manufacturers coming and holding an Auction, we have a bigger flight line than before, but will we have 2000 people, No, 400 maybe, if we are lucky. But none of this happens with out the support and hard work that many people put into it for all boogies, and of course the skydiver. The proceeds do go to the scholarship fund, and numerous expenses that come with that. Would I like to get paid for my 300 + hours a year that I put into it, you bet! Maybe someday. I know I am not saying anything that you and the others dont already know, I guess what I am saying is that "cant we all just get along"
  4. Oh, look, another CYPRES fire. And so on, and so on, or hey he never opened his parachute! leading to an announcement that all skydivers exiting a plane must deploy their own parachute, or they will be kicked out. Huh? which was right after " you must deploy your parachute by 2000'.. not safe but quite entertaining
  5. I think that's a great idea... extra from you for that comment, extra from me for another comment in another thread. Ummmm, you can't poor...bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!! But I wil certainly poor an extra on him for you.... after i get atleast one on you..
  6. Oh, look, another CYPRES fire. And so on, and so on, or hey he never opened his parachute!
  7. Well I guess you bottomlined it for me then??
  8. I second that?? I am glad this has come back up, it would make my SF day if we could arrange this for them. Can anyone bottom line this for me? DO I have a minister and can they do it and who do I send their contact info too? Must get back to work on the final 2 weeeks of details for SF, damn you guys make me work hard!!! This was supposed to be fun when we started it.. NO it is, just kidding I really enjoy it.. Now some find me G*D minister! oops
  9. If any of you ladies are concerned about your skills, which my gut tells me you are better than what you think, you are very welcome to come and play on some of the SCR's and we can get your confidence level up. Then we can go from there. I only say this because I considered my self to be an expert "inexperienced" jumper for 15 years. I made 10 jumps a year for about 15 years. Which left me with low confidence when I really returned. Then someone said to me after a kick ass 4 way " J you know how to fly your body, just believe it" from that point forward it all came together. I was on the Texas state record 8 months later which was a 124 way. Come play with us on the SCR's and watch what happens. While this event is about the growth of the upcoming jumpers, Safety is our main concern.
  10. I tried contacting HH about t shirts with no reply. I know he is probably in France right now. We will have different colored wrist bands with registration. I have talked to my t shirt guy and for $10.00 he can put our names on our SkyFest Boogie T shirt left sleeve. The cost is high because of the labor and individual prints required. If enough of you say yes I will set it up.... hows that... If ya'll want to we can make this happen but I will need the $10.00 paid up front through paypal. No offense on not collecting later but due to the fact that this event is for scholarships the budget is very tight.
  11. Maybe you should take on SDU I hear its your favorite... cockatilliooooooossssssss at SF 05!!!!!!! cant wait to see you two barfing. Can we get a landing pattern for your barfing???
  12. If I may share this experience. My father had a massive heart attack during deployment, killed him instantly (as far as we know). He never released his brakes. He weighed 220# plus gear with a 220 Tri and a G300( i think that whats its called, Strong Parachute) reserve. The winds were about 15 that day. His canopy ultimately turned downwind. When he landed he flipped head over heels and that broke his neck. We are confident the broken neck happened on landing due to the readings from the jump track. When someone is limp under canopy they are usually leaning oneside or another thus creating a slow turn. This is one of the reasons I recently upsized my main and reserve. Besides getting older. While I dont believe that my PD143 at 200# would let me down slow enough to avoid the same injury, I feel it is better than the PD126. This was five years ago, he jumped for 41 years practically every weekend. On sort of a happy thought "He died of natural causes in his natural environment." These scenarios really should make us think about canopy sizing. At least in my opinion. Hope this applies here. Good question, one that we may never have a perfect answer to.
  13. What ever!!! you guys missed em both!!!
  14. Quoteright... I would hope you would know if my cpc ranking was a hoax then I would have made it 1st... and as far as the safety record... I think I did pay the registration... and it was on the thursday, but nothing broken (other than my ego) so Ill still let you lide with the safety recordQuote Well the bottomline is that you walked away from it. And thats what counts! Cool beans

  18. I I thought about that and I thought we decided that you had not registered yet and it was on Thursday, so we kinda slid passed it. But if you insist you can be the one that broke our PERFECT record...!!

  20. QuoteThe weather has been cooperating for the most part for the past few weekends, and we are having a greast 4th of July this weekend. Saturday Night, Janine will be serving dinner. Sunday Night is the Pig Roast, and that is free! Monday is fireworks night of course - Johnny Gates is on his way to SC to load up on the usual outrageous display that we host here every year. Hope to see you all he re, TKQuote I hear Johnny puts on a hell of a show!! Never been to a Z hills 4th...hmmm its right next door. Made my first Turkey meet last year and it was a blast! I think I shall head that way. thanks TK
  21. Well I truely hope you can. Seagoville those were the days. I truly loved growing up on that DZ. Learned how to drink beer shhh dont tell mom
  22. So what is the registration number going to be?? Whats your guess? Here's what I know, JSM Boogie (birth of SF) 2001 Dallas 167 registered SF 02 2002 Dallas 218 registered SF 03 2003 Dallas 252 registered SF 04 2004 Spaceland 215 registered (first year to move it) SF 05 2005 Spaceland I say 298 register More interesting facts: we average 2300 jumps each year (myself only 3) Zero serious injuries (we are still classifying Yoshi's "stunt") 11 cutaways 3 of the mains landed in the parking lot the first year. 3 rafts a year were supplied we loose two every year. The One is an original, meaning it has been to 01,02,03,04, and now 05 The seven foot banana has 8 jumps now at 3 DZ's one in AZ during nationals. We jump the Banana until the Banana splits. SCR Ceremony SF 01-11 SF 02-18 SF 03-23 SF 04-15 SF 05 ???!!! My guess 25 maggots
