  2. News update! For those of you needing water training, we will have a class Thursday night at 8:30 pm at SD Spaceland, thats right July 14th we can get you B qualified. Oh, I still have a suprise!!! Maybe I will let it go today....
  3. One case (24) for sharing with your good friends who helped you get the SCR. And one case (24) to have your friends pour on your sorry ass MAGGOT!! he he he, one of my favorite parts of the boogie. TO THE WEST!!!!!
  4. There may be a higher rate for the Balloon, Steve had mentioned that, I am not sure of the cost. The Powered parachute may be $10.00 more, not confirmed yet. The rest should be the same. J
  5. I felt comfortable with my position in the said jump, all I had to do was hold a 2 way belly as someone else was hanging from us Peer pressure can kill ya, and it seems like you have figured that out. Its sounds like you have a great attitude , patience, and good judgement from what you are saying. As I was posting this I was thinking that you might be pretty current, which makes a big difference. Its not that I would only question you for a hybrid w/ 80j's but I would question them too. But that is only my opinion with FF in an early stage of jumping. We just learned to save our lives, why speed it up and give us less time to react? But this post is about your equipment so good luck to that and keep that great attitude.
  6. I am really getting a kick about this thread, quite funny.
  7. Well the DZ is about 1 hour away, probably only 30 minutes as the monkey flies!!!! do i hear a DOOR over Houston. I can hear it now, "there was a birdmonkey flying over houston this afternoon" in other news... Ok chuck can you tell I started w/o ya?
  8. That is correct, there was a communication challenge between Fayard and Boyd on this, and yes we did get the skyvan. SO you can still ride the7' stuffed banana, we jump it till the banana splits.
  9. I will check it out on the site and see what I can come up with. I can put a "signup" link that will email you and myself, so I can post it and you can do try to help them out. This might work. Thanks girl
  10. Ok I have an idea, Amanduh with your help, how about if I put a page up on the site that shows everyones arrivals and departures. This way it could be easily viewed. It will not be in any way saying that "we" will be picking them up, it just might help people schedule similar flights, for their rides. I know know one wants to become a shuttle bus , so maybe it can help. What do you think? I could even put a spot in there telling who is doing the pick up and drop offs. If you think it will help I will put it together. Everyone will have to send an email to us then we post it. I am not that good with the site yet so that someone could post on their own. any thoughts???
  11. No, No, NOooooooooooooooooooo ahhh wtf COCK-A-TILLIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO your mine,.. chucky!
  12. I will be dropping Derek, and Jumprgirl off at Hobby for their flight at 12:30 Monday. If you can go later in the day on Monday I can help. Amanduh, has Lara from Alti-2 contacted you yet? Thanks folks
  13. Ok we are getting so close! We have had a great response this year and I just wanted to thank everyone for their support! I know the event hasn't even happened yet but the vibe is good, thanks to everyone. I thought I would do a quick reminder of how this started. Jerry Schrimsher would see a new face at the DZ and approach them. He did this his whole 41 years of jumping. He didn't care what color or how many colors your hair was, how many holes, or where the tats were he just wanted to jump. He believed that the AFF graduate was one of our most valuable assets. He felt that if we dont grab the upjumper while he is in that transition period of learning to fly with others, then we would loose them. They would get bored, lonely or just ignored and quit the sport. So he did his best to make sure they were in the air. He never got paid or charged for jumping with these upjumpers. He always paid for his own slot. He did it all the way to his third jump of the day which became his last jump on Oct 14 2000. After an uneventful 8 way jump with some of "Jerry's Kids" he had a massive heart attack during deployment. In our minds he never landed. He died of natural causes in his natural environment. He jumped for 41 years. This is how SkyFest got its start. A celebration of his life to promote the upjumper and his love for the sport. SkyFest works on a very tight budget and tries to provide the best event it can, while focusing on safety and education. The MFRS. spend alot of their time and money to attend (16 this year) , the volunteers/staff work very hard to be organized for the event. I promise to you to keep this thing going as long as I can, and continue to raise money for the Scholarship Fund so that you, me, the sport can help create new friends. This cause gets its funds from the sponsor DZ's (free day of skydiving) donations from the MFRS (Auction some of the items), games (dunk tank), T shirts sales (SkyFest babydolls will be available), Pink Patch raffle sales, and thats it! If you really think about it, its not that much. The registration is usually a "break even" between all the expense that occur in the set up. Sometimes its better sometimes its worse. So, I just thought I would say thank you again and hope that we all can be safe and enjoy a great weekend and keep teaching the upjumpers how to fly and land safely. And raise some money, one of the only boogies that I know of that doesn't just "take" from skydivers but actually gives it back !! Blue skies to you all!!! Especially July 14-17th
  14. I'd just like to tack a rider on to what J said... At Skyfest a couple of years ago, there were 20 women, most of whom had less than 300 jumps. Most had the same thoughts and concerns that you express. They did a great job. Be painfully honest about your abilities with the Load Organizers, so they can best set the formation for success. IMO - being good in the base of a formation is just as important as chasing and docking on the base. No big-way records would exist, if not for a good solid base. Go for it. Bigun I tried to find your pic of the Pink Patch but this was Ernies the first year. I am so jealous, of both of you for having this patch. Thanks for your support as always. J
  15. Lets not forget what SkyFest is about and it is a fundraiser as well. Will someone donate some ladies for the Pink Patch first??? We will have some ladies shirts for sale at SF to raise monay for the Scholarship Fund...
  16. Thank you we are still trying to get enough ladies for the Pink Patch and SkyFest fund...[crazy Maybe someone will donate sopme ladies to us....

I was chatting with Happythoughs last night and he says it best. Rantoul is what you make it. I thought this should be applied to all boogies. Like I said before everyone gives back in their own ways. Its all good. Oh a little ass kissing goes a long way... luv ya babe
