Oh please. You forgot about the false equivalence that all the Rs and Trumpettes need in order to argue. Trump buying the election was fine. He was an 'outsider'. Bloomberg doing it is wrong. Trump's long record of racism is fine. That's 'just who he is'. Bloomberg's support of 'stop & frisk' is wrong. I don't like Bloomberg and I hope he isn't the nominee. But I'll hold my nose and vote for him if he is because Trump is simply evil.
-
Of course he does. One of the 'facts' Rs like to tout is how many counties voted for Trump. The simple fact that the population of many of those counties is insignificant is something they conveniently ignore. The idea that a state like Vermont or Wyoming should have the 'same vote' as California, New York or Texas is ludicrous.

Official count was 2,912,790 to 2,912,253. However, the nationwide total was 50,456,002 to 50,999,897. If the idea being proposed above was in place then, the Florida crap wouldn't have even made the papers, let alone the Supreme Court. Instead, the 'Brooks Brothers Revolution' (led by Roger Stone) was what put Bush & Cheney in place. Each state individually, same as now. The real downside of this would be the simple fact that the TV news broadcasts would lose the 'suspense' of reporting each states results as they came in. They would have to wait until all the states reported their results. Actual results, not statewide poll percentages. It wouldn't matter if one candidate 'won' a particular state by a huge margin, only the vote numbers would. California would be the big vote tally result. Late to report (Pacific time zone), huge population, diverse population, all of that could make that state very pivotal. But again, the state itself wouldn't matter, it would be the votes that did.

What 'ongoing investigation' would that be, Ron? McCabe was fired 2 days before becoming eligible for his pension. After getting fired, The Mango Mussolini tweeted numerous attacks and lies about him. It was abundantly clear that the firing and subsequent threats of prosecution for 'leaking' were nothing more than Trump's attempts at revenge.
-
If all the states would simply pass laws to assign EC votes proportionate to the popular vote, it would go a long, long way towards a fair(er) election. Since it says "in such a manner as the Legislature there may direct", that would be well within the Constitution.

You are making the erroneous assumption that their minds ever leave the gutter. To the OP - You want all the cell openings hitting the air at (approximately) the same time. That's why you want to count out the nose, line it up and clamp it between your knees. After you flake out the cells and get all the lines straight, you put the 'gathered' nose where you want it (actual placement varies). Also, you will see some packers take the 'gathered' nose and give it a sharp 'snap' before they clamp it between their knees. That motion will take care of some of the 'arrangement' of the flakes and lines, making the actual flaking part somewhat easier.

Well, in a not at all surprising development, the NY AG issued a statement about this. #1 - She is an elected official, independent of the governor. #2 - SHE is the one in charge of these suits, not the governor. https://www.palmerreport.com/analysis/new-york-attorney-general-tish-james-just-slam-dunked-donald-trump/25190/?fbclid=IwAR2AGiLalB-C7M4DArv5zoAnFuRfOao4rwWFTJgYOXWfPcI-xkUIV9xNO1Y

Well there's also the very simple fact that the whole concept of a 'wall from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific' is utterly idiotic.

The problem is that Trump is only a manifestation, a symptom of that bandwagon. The R party went down that road a few years ago. "Voter ID" laws, promoted as preventing voter fraud (which was really rare, and seems to be perpetuated recently by... Republicans) that really disenfranchises older and minority voters. Gerrymandering (done by both sides, but the Rs really ran with it). Vicious and false attacks against HRC. I don't like her and didn't vote for her The "Benghazi" and "E-mail" hearings had no merit, or substance, but did a good job of attacking her. Flat out refusing to hold hearings for a Supreme Court nominee. It's become abundantly clear that the Republican leadership has no interest in anything but retaining power.
-
To be fair, the entire Republican party ignored the wishes of the people when they decided not to hear witnesses or allow new evidence. For the first time ever in an impeachment trial in US history (not just the Presidential ones). McConnell threatened blackmailed & bribed the R Senators into being simple pawns for Trump. On the positive side, the House committees are still investigating.

Not necessarily. Every airport I've jumped out of is/was privately owned. The rent for the hangar (or ground lease for the places that built/owned the building but leased the land it was on) paid for the taxes on the land and upkeep of the grounds (grass runways in one case). Fuel revenue wasn't a factor, because the DZs had their own fuel supply. There was a decent amount of positive give-and-take at some of the places. Particularly in mowing the grass. The airport didn't care much if the grass grew up to a foot or so. The jumpers wanted a closer cut for the landing areas. So the airport leadership allowed the DZ access to the mower, or purchased a mower and parked it in the DZ hangar in one case (you want it that length, you take care of it). The government does provide ATC services. But the actual 'service' is usually pretty minimal. And paid for with fuel taxes.

Cities are lining up for climate change money

Well, that's what you get for actually reading the linked story. -
Dude. turn up the gain on your sarcasm detector. He's a bit hard to decipher at times, his humor is a bit esoteric. But even I can see his 'my kind of pansy' was in jest, directed more at Brent than you.

The Porsche commercial was pretty good.

No problems. I've had an Infinity for a while, and not had any issues with this. One of the reasons I chose Infinity is because of the secure riser & pin flaps. I just checked my copy of the manual, and it doesn't specify as to putting the risers under one or both sides of the cover (IIRC, Wings specifies only under one side) When I first got mine, I wasn't sure how the covers & risers should go, so I got in touch with Velocity. They said it could go under one or both. It's been my experience that the manufacturer is the best source for this sort of information. They've always been helpful & friendly (not just Velocity).

Maybe, maybe not. I have no idea who his entire 'friend list' would include. I highly doubt that all of them were involved in sexual misconduct. But I bet it will be more than 'just a little' surprising if and when prosecutors reveal all the names that Epstein had 'good blackmail' data on.
-
You are aware that prominent conservatives, as well as the Clintons, were involved in this, right? Trump, Dershowitz and many others.
-
I wouldn't. Science & logic will save your life. Prayer & religion won't. Fortunately, the courts will find parents who let their kids die because the parents 'didn't believe in medicine' and prayed instead guilty of murder. This is only one case. There are a lot more out there: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2017/03/03/a-diabetic-boys-parents-didnt-believe-in-doctors-now-theyre-guilty-of-his-murder/

Considering that the investigators found a treasure trove of information in Epstein's safe, they have the names of the people that they are 'hunting' for. Considering that many or most of them are prominent, wealthy people, I don't think 'manhunt' would be what is happening. Far more 'consolidating' the data, crosschecking and confirming what happened and who did it, making damned sure all of the 'Is are dotted & Ts crossed' properly, so that the high end, high priced defense lawyers won't have any 'loopholes' to exploit and guilty pleas will be more likely. Of course, none of that makes big headlines, and the investigators aren't seeking out the media spotlight during this process. But since some people don't see the headlines in their news feed, there must not be any work being done.

Not as bad as IBAD did.

Green new deal equals magical thinking

Oh, come on. The false equivalency of a group of people being paid (by industries with an agenda) to push climate denial being equal to research scientists working under grants is essentail to the 'denier stance'. Kinda the same as the false equivalency of Trump's crimes being equal to Hillary's. One having a couple major investigations resulting in multiple indictments, guilty pleas and prison sentences, the other having multiple major investigations resulting in... Nothing. -
Well, the "Q" idiocy has stepped up it's game. I wouldn't have thought they could get dumber or more dangerous. I should have known better. A 'prominent QAnon supporter' is posting videos telling people how dangerous the coronavirus is (it's really not), how it was created by China (probably not) and how to prevent or cure it. Drink bleach. "Miracle Mineral Solution", MMS. It contains sodium chlorite, which changes to chlorine dioxide when combined with citric acid in the body. Part of me would be fine with allowing this to be widely disseminated. https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/qanon-conspiracy-theorists-coronavirus-mms-bleach-youtube-twitter-944878/?fbclid=IwAR1GLdhG2XQMn1-LHl15bkSFwsxeKoOSBH8pndNtDCTSnJpcdYNWRRASCMg

He's quoting the same people who spent decades denying that cigarettes were dangerous. All the while being paid by the tobacco companies. So, of course they are worth reading. -
It's been a while, but my old DZ had two Wings student rigs (purchased new in 03 maybe). S/L, freefall, even had a setup for a reserve side release so it could be used for AFF. The freefall could be setup as a throw-out or a spring loaded PC ripcord. The ripcords were the black stuff. The S/L were direct bag, with the pin on the S/L being the black stuff too. Not sure if they could be set up as Pilot Chute S/L rigs or not. If they could, we never did.
