Hopefully it will also list him as a defendant in a criminal case. But it's a Republican in Texas, so I'm not going to get my hopes up too high.

Heather Chandler is dead. Even so, she'd still be better than any of the 'real' ones.

Not 100% sure where to put this, but here isn't too bad of a place. A doctor who is the medical director of a nursing home has decided to try giving hydroxychloroquine to some of the residents. As an 'observational study'. Without telling some of them or their families (many suffer from dementia). The fact that this doctor is the former vice-chair of the Texas Republican party and used his political connections to get the drug from the Lt Governor (the same fella who said that 'grandma would be willing to die to get the economy going) only makes it more disgusting. When it's done, he's going to 'submit his findings in some kind of report'. Wow. Unscientific, unauthorized tests on unknowing subjects, using a drug because the Mango Mussolini likes it. https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/republican-doctor-trump-unproven-medicine-elderly-coronavirus-patients-982337/?fbclid=IwAR0Uo-WilLyHel93vIo3epsUjm35lPakvLWtbMoDspqKMtUK9iKzycto8OA

Hi Jerry, It was an intentional parachute jump from an airplane. The FAA would call that 'skydiving' (and issue a citation for jumping without a functional reserve ) The original premise was that a woman was asking jumpers if anyone could 'put her dead husband in a parachute', that is, could anyone confirm her idea that her husband knew how to skydive. Nobody could, and it turned out that the idea was completely bonkers. She was 'more than a little' obsessive about it. But there was a period of time where the thread generated a hell of a lot of decent, valid info. It never got anyone any closer to finding out who Cooper really was or what happened to him, but a lot of myths were proven wrong and a few new facts were uncovered. That doesn't mean there wasn't an incredible amount of garbage, some very inappropriate actions by a few folks, and a ton of false info. Enough folks decided that they were going to do whatever it took to make 'their suspect' the one, including making shit up and trashing anyone who disagreed that I finally gave up reading it. But it was fun for a while.

How about the Governor of Minnesota? Source:https://www.twincities.com/2020/04/11/gov-tim-walz-and-the-coronavirus-the-former-football-coach-and-sergeant-major-faces-his-biggest-battle/ The Governor of Wisconsin was saying for a week or so that he felt that the citizens were doing a good enough job of staying inside and apart that he didn't think he would have to issue any 'stay at home' order. He had to change his mind on that. I can't find where he used the exact word 'mistake', but he said that he was changing it after listening to the experts.

Because one of the jobs of the "Main Stream Media" is to expose frauds & fakes. Like Trump University. Or Jim Bakker.

California, Washington & Oregon went "Stay at Home" first. There was a fair amount of questioning and concern about it. But it worked. New York waited. And paid the price. Australia, South Korea and Germany chose to attack the issue full force. They are already seeing the 'beginning of the end'.. We're just at the 'end of the beginning'.

I read it regularly back when it was actually generating valid info. Then the 'smart people' all gave up. Then it got locked. When it was reopened, I tried reading it again. But it turned into a shouting match between one or two posters, plus one idiot who claimed he knew who it was, kept posting pics of that 'suspect', but no actual evidence that he could possibly be Cooper. He got banned, and kept coming back with sockpuppets, posting pics. They kept getting deleted. I'll guess he's the idiot posting porn. I'd be fine with it getting locked up again. There actually is a lot of valid info in it, but it's at the beginning (or in the original thread) and buried among a ton of garbage.

The Road to Coronavirus Hell Was Paved by Evangelicals
wolfriverjoe replied to Phil1111's topic in Speakers Corner
I don't see a problem with it, but it depends on what Mississippi's rules are. For example, in Wisconsin, I can go for a drive in my car. I am supposed to not have passengers that I'm not 'sheltering' with otherwise, but I can legally hop in my car and just go for a ride (I've done that too). Other places don't allow that. I've heard that people are getting pulled over and ticketed in Ohio & Pennsylvania. No confirmation, but that's 'the word'. Personally, I'm a lot happier with 'drive in' services than the whole bunch together inside a big room. -
Local and state leaders realized their mistakes, admitted them and corrected them. The Mango Mussolini... Not so much. He has yet to admit ANY. Actually, he has doubled down on some of his lies (HCT is a good treatment), and then done a complete reversal on others (he knew it was a pandemic before anyone else).

New "Cannonball Run" Record Allegedly Set During COVID-19 Shutdown
wolfriverjoe replied to a topic in Speakers Corner
No argument on that. But I think the same thing of people who intentionally gather in large groups. -
Well, that 'someone' has no brain. And yes, it's smarter than him.

This is also the fool who claimed that the doctors at the CDC were amazed at how much he knew.

New "Cannonball Run" Record Allegedly Set During COVID-19 Shutdown
wolfriverjoe replied to a topic in Speakers Corner
Right. The whole thing is pretty stupid. This was 'more stupid'. Getting caught at those speeds will often get the driver jailed. Some places will impound the car. One time AggieDave posted a story about a motorcycle going stupid fast. It impacted the rear door of a Suburban. Dave was doing his accident reconstruction thing at the time and said that there was no way the driver of the Sub could have seen the cycle in time. And that there was no way the rider could have seen the Sub in time. If the impact had been in the driver's door, it likely would have killed the driver. I've been above 100 a few times. I went to Cali in the 928 back in 2014. There are some desolate sections of interstate in Utah & Nevada. Kept it around 90 most of the time (limits were 75 or 80). There were spots where over 100 wouldn't have been 'too stupid', but the car had a shake above 90, so I didn't push it. The Silver State Classic is a really cool race. 90 miles of actual highway, but closed for the event. Last fall, it was won by an 'online friend'. He chronicled the run on the Rennlist 928 forum: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/1161664-2019-silver-state-classic-challenge-official-top-speed-219mph.html You don't have to sign up to read it, but there will be more ads. The prep and build that he's put into that car is remarkable. He gets faster each year. The car is normally street legal, but he takes a few things off for the race. -
New "Cannonball Run" Record Allegedly Set During COVID-19 Shutdown

Yeah, this is going around a couple of the car boards I read. It seems real. The tracking abilities we have today make it pretty easy to verify. But it's not 'legit'. If it's the same article I've read, they say that this record will always have 'an asterisk' next to it. They're getting a lot of flak from the road race types (I'm not one, but I know some of them). Admittedly, guys who illegally race across country on public roads are waaaay down on the list of people who should criticize this. They did it when the roads are very quiet. I drive truck and my ability to get through major cities (Chicago, Boston, Cleveland, ect) is way better than I've ever seen it. I can get through Chicago like nothing. Even during what used to be the 'afternoon rush', I can get from WI to IN with very little delay. The roads should be packed with traffic crawling, yet I'm cruising along at nearly 60. In some ways, it's really cool. And convenient. but it's creepy. The whole idea of the Cannonball was to get from New York City to Los Angeles on regular roads, with regular traffic, dealing with cops and all of that. Brock Yates' original philosophy was to do it without causing a stir or creating a risk. The first real 'race' did just that. Yates & Dan Gurney made it very quickly, without causing any problems and only one ticket. The later races weren't quite so innocuous. They took more risks, did some pretty aggressive stuff in heavy traffic, and attracted a lot more attention. Yates' book is a revealing and really cool account of the whole thing. These guys took advantage of the situation, where there's very few people on the roads, and even reduced police presence. The problem is that right now, the hospitals and health care system is under very heavy strain. If they wrecked they would put themselves and likely others into hospitals full of Covid victims. Exposing themselves to it and taking up desperately needed resources. To take this kind of risk right now is pretty stupid. To average over 100, top speeds need to be well above that. The last guys who did it had a top speed of 193. Doing that is a big risk. Both to the people doing it and everyone around them. They can say 'we only went that fast when we could see the road was clear', but shit happens really fast at those speeds. This sort of thing is always 'pretty dangerous and fairly stupid'. To do it now is far, far, far more stupid. Well beyond reckless. -
Yeah. And even if it was in stock, it takes plutonium. They don't sell that. And the Libyans have abandoned their nuke programs, so that avenue is closed too.

C'mon Joe. We NEED TO laugh. Especially now. A friend posted the O'Rielly Auto parts 121GW part number a week or so ago. (if you've never done it, go to the O'Reilly site and put that in the search box). A few people complained that it was dumb. And it sort of is. But it's silly and it's fun and that is needed. OTOH, there are also people posting that Covid has the same symptoms as radiation sickness (it doesn't) and that 5G is dangerous (it isn't). And while they refuse (or are unable) to post links to any reputable sources, they claim that bullshit is real. This idea (and the fear of a "Mountie Invasion Scare") fall under the first example. And I agree with Lisa. Canadians are generally quite nice (even Remi). And hockey is cool. No opinion on the sexiness of the uniform... Should Biden Get the Nomination in Light of an Apparent Sexual Assault
wolfriverjoe replied to DJL's topic in Speakers Corner
If the competition was "Who is the more predatory sexual predator?", then yes. He also wins 'Who told the most lies?' 'Who lined his own pockets the most?' and 'Who hired more unqualified and incompetent staff?'. None of those are 'good' to win. One could argue that once was a mistake. It may or may not be true and should still have consequences, but if it only happened once, then it could be. However, if it happens multiple times, and the rapist is caught on audio bragging about how he can get away with it (also multiple times), then it's well beyond the 'mistake' category. -
I've said it already, although I'm not sure if it was on here or not: I'm done being nice to stupid people who endanger others. Take down their names, driver's licence numbers and a picture (easiest would be to take a pic while they hold the D/L next to their face). Inform them that if they choose to join the large public gathering in violation of the law that they have then forfeited their right to get hospital care. If they get seriously sick, God can heal them. Or they can die.

How long has the story been out? Honest question, I haven't been paying attention to this one. I have no doubt that it will gain traction, if the allegations hold up. -
