  1. Pelosi & Clinton are both women. Obama is black. To many supporters of the Mango Mussolini, those qualities make Trump the better choice. Actual behavior doesn't matter much. Or at all.
  2. A coup is when someone (not necessarily the military) deposes the head of state (d'etat) and takes over. "Martial Law" is commonly understood as 'military rule'. That can be under a current leader, or under a new one in the case of a coup. I keep hearing people claiming that the emergency orders aren't enforceable 'until Martial Law is declared', yet none of them can tell me what the legal procedure is for that. Because there isn't one. And under the emergency order (your reply to SkyDekker came in while I was composing this), 'peaceable assembly' is no longer legal. While that is patently unconstitutional, I'll bet you a buck it stands up in court.
  3. They did. "Martial Law" isn't a law at all. It's simply a term for the military taking over. "Declaring" or "Implementing" it doesn't really happen. The governor (or whoever is in charge) declares an emergency, announces emergency rules and uses the military to enforce them. Since most folks are smart enough to understand how important these rules are, they haven't needed to use the military to enforce them... Yet. If the morons keep up their stupidity, it may happen.
  4. Do you understand the concept of 'emergency circumstances'? And "temporary restrictions"? There have been a LOT of emergency situations over the history of our country. There have been a lot of 'emergency orders' that were put in place. Many (most?) of those orders violated constitutional rights in some way. Many were taken to court. While some were found to be illegal, most (by far) were found to be legal. Even some that were patently wrong (internment of US citizens of Japanese descent during WW2 for example). Right now, most states have emergency orders in place that infringe on the right to 'peaceably assemble'. There have been reports of police enforcing those orders and, local to me, a few tickets have been written. Mostly warnings, but some fools have decided to 'stand up for their rights'. Admirable behavior under normal circumstances, but right now it is stupid and dangerous. Not just to the individual, but to the community as a whole. I have no doubt that some of those who were cited will choose to fight it. I wouldn't bet on them winning.
  5. Actually, talking about it is an 'act'. Talk about it with another person and you have a conspiracy. Go out and buy the rope after talking about it with another person and you have 'an act that furthers the conspiracy'. That constitutes a crime that can be prosecuted.
  6. Don't forget that former Acting SecDef Modly spent $243,000 to fly to Guam and bitch out the crew of the Teddy Roosevelt for cheering their former Captain. All sorts of things are possible. But, in this particular case, the Pentagon has said that that report does not exist. Read the story and follow the link in it to the ABC story. While I don't doubt the Pentagon would lie if it suited them, I tend to believe them in this instance.
  7. Nope. I meant 'not allowed'. As in not permitted. As in 'actively discouraged'. As in 'the people who ask those sorts of questions get punished'. I was raised Catholic Sunday school, Altar boy, all that (no, I was never molested). Not actual 'Catholic School', which turned out to be a really good thing. My parents were both scientists. Chemists. I still don't completely understand how they could have the beliefs they did and the educations they did at the same time, but that's on them. With 'scientific' parents, I was encouraged from early on to wonder, ask and seek answers. Facts. Proof. So as I got older (still in grade school), I started to wonder about the inconsistencies in the Bible. How did the earth stop without inertia causing everything to fly east? How were there lambs at the time of Jesus' birth in December? Who made God? The teachers were not very willing to try to address these subjects. If I had been in 'real' Catholic school, I probably would have had a lot of problems. As it was, I got pulled from Sunday school in third or fourth grade. My parents taught me that while there was some basis in truth of the stories, most of them were simply a way of teaching lessons. I could get behind that idea and tried to learn and apply the lessons. Until I realized that it was far more about power and control than it was about lessons. Which is an entirely different story. Bingo.
  8. The first one is a five year old article about certain sanctions continuing despite the nuke agreement. Did you not understand what I asked? One more time: Do you have any reliable source that says Iran continued to pursue nukes in violation of the agreement?
  9. Do you have any reliable sources that say Iran was continuing to pursue nukes? I won't disagree that the Mossad pulled of a hell of a stunt getting those documents, but nobody who actually knows Iran's nuke program agreed with the Israeli assessment. The term 'nothingburger' was in the story you linked. All the other signatories to the deal (Including Trump's master, Putin) opposed the US pulling out of the agreement.
  10. Most of them spent their entire lives being brainwashed by their parents and the church. That is a segment of society where critical thinking and independent thought are NOT allowed.
  11. He meant his family, his co-conspirators, his cronies and the rest of his corrupt buddies. This is a pretty blatant 'money grab', in a situation that is a clear conflict of interest. Very similar to Cheney and Haliburton. No less slimy.
  12. It's really sad when a figurehead 'leader' shows far, far, faaaaar more actual 'leadership' than the so-called 'leader of the free world. Worse than the 'I take no responsibility' was when the Mango Mussolini was offered a 'vanilla' question along the lines of 'what would you say to the frightened public' (paraphrased). Instead of something 'vanilla' and placating (Pence actually did ok with a very similar question), Trump attacked the reporter. And has Trump ever offered sympathy or expressed condolences to the sick or the families of the dead? At all? I don't know for sure, but I think he has not.
  13. Good. Then they can kill themselves. That would make the world a much better place.
  14. And what is the only federal holiday based on a religious event?
  15. Day 26 of 'Shelter in Place': My wife called in from the other room: "Honey? Are you in any pain?" I replied: "No, what kind of pain do you mean?" She said: "Like needles going into your chest. Like someone is using a voodoo doll on you." Me: "No, nothing like that at all" Her: "How about now?"

They have more fools who are falling for their garbage?

    Q

You don't want 'equal justice'. You want your enemies persecuted and your hero's crimes ignored. When, exactly, will these be 'revealed'? When will they be 'brought to justice'? When will they be announced? I'm still waiting for the 'tribunals on Gitmo' that were promised a while back. And regarding your 'WWG1WGA' shit - Do you actually believe a bunch of keyboard warriors and wannabe 'specops' morons would actually GO anywhere?
  18. It gives the Trumpettes an enemy. Haven't you noticed that? It's a 'top ten' trait of despots. They NEED someone (or 'someones') to blame. It lets them tell themselves that they aren't at all at fault. The Chinese, the "deep state", liberals, Mexicans, Muslims, HRC, ect.
  19. You could stop responding to him. He's certainly not going to stop gaslighting.

Well, that one idiot did shoot up the pizza place. I still find it funny that the restaurant where 'kids were being molested in the basement' didn't actually have a basement. Edit to add: That seems typical for all of the 'Q' crap.
  21. The "Stay at Home" order in Wisconsin specifically allows people to go outside for exercise. People are supposed to stay away from each other, and follow all the other guidelines. As part of the order,to give people the opportunity to get out and be active, the Governor suspended the access sticker requirements for the State Parks. People going into the parks are required to buy a sticker and put it in their windshield ($20 for a year). Last week, many (not all) of the parks were ordered closed. People were gathering in larger groups, getting quite close to each other, plus there was a huge increase in litter and vandalism. Go figure. Make it free and the assholes trash it.
  22. I'm a 'hugger' too. That may change after all of this. Fauci has mentioned that this may be the end of shaking hands as a greeting. I think a lot of 'social norms' may change. Waiting a few weeks to see if there's a 'rebound' after restrictions are relaxed is something I'll likely do too. And I agree somewhat that 4 in a 182 is largely psychological, but there's simple numbers to it too. 5x or 6x the people means that much more likelyhood that someone is infected. Not less contact or less chance of getting infected if someone in the plane is infected, but just less chance of someone being infected. Plus, as I noted, the 182 DZ is going to have a lot fewer people in the hangar. Both of those 'smaller numbers' would make me more comfortable. Psychological to some degree, but numbers/odds are also a factor.
  23. Not Wendy, but like her, my FB list includes a lot of jumpers with all sorts of 'leanings'. Some want to go right now. They think this whole thing is overblown and we should open up the country today (or yesterday). A couple of them are in Texas. Others are at the other end. They likely wouldn't get on an Otter until there's a vaccine. I tend to be in the middle. Once the restrictions are relaxed, once the new cases are waaay down, I'll think about it. Most likely start at the closer 182 DZ (30 min drive), only 4 plus pilot. When I'd be comfortable going down to the Otter DZ (about 2 hours away) is something that I won't really 'decide that it's time until I decide that it's time'. Edit to add: Part of that decision would be based on the activity in the hangar. There's a lot of interaction that doesn't involve the plane.
