  1. LOL! I'm "Bitch of the Galloping Goats"! WTF!?! Always be kinder than you feel.
  2. Well, I'll sure be pissed because I haven't finished all of my AFF levels or gotten my A license yet. I think this dude should wait another few weeks. I have shit to do! Always be kinder than you feel.
  3. Well you are driving in New Jersey Driving here is an art form! Always be kinder than you feel.
  4. Never heard of 2 way radios? most countys and states have more than just one officer Of course. But what I was getting at, in the interest of officer safety, is their attention in on the driver they already have stopped.
  5. The police officer/trooper may have just finished up a traffic stop (the person who was pulled over may have already driven away) and was completing a report of the stop while the details were fresh in their mind. BTW - I always chuckle when people hit their brakes when a police officer/trooper has someone pulled over on the opposite side of a divided highway. And the cop is standing at the car with their back to traffic. Yeah stupid, the cop has eyes int he back of their head and a partol car like the Mach 5 that can jump over the highway divider and come directly after YOU. Always be kinder than you feel.
  6. The best alternative that I have found is to just throw the patio furniture into the pool. It will sit on the bottom and not blow around. Also the chlorine will clean up the pvc. My Dad told me about that one years ago when I still lived at home. I didn't see it in action until I was in Jamaica. Clever and much safer then projectile chaise lounges! Unfortunately, the chlorine probably would've rusted my stuff further. Always be kinder than you feel.
  7. Actually, I find I'm becoming fascinated with BASE, too. I want to try it. Always be kinder than you feel.
  8. OK, this has been bothering me for about a week so I'll toss it out there..... I had some friends come to watch my first 2 AFF jumps. For AFF 1 they got there too late (I didn't know there were coming and they got me while I was walking to my car). We sat around and watched for a bit until I couldn't take the heat anymore and we left to go eat. They showed up the next day (I didn't know they were coming again) for my AFF 2 jump. I saw them over by the snack bar and walked over and we talked a bit before I got called by my instructor. Now, knowing they were there waiting on me sucked. It was 4 hours from when they got there to when I jumped. I love them all like my brothers and they kinda show me support (even if one of them says he's there to see me go splat because that's the only way he could "hit it" while I'm warm - yeah it's messed up, so is he), but I felt like I had to keep going over to them and talk. It was really distracting and I told them I have to walk away for a while clear my head, think about my jump and go watch then landings, the wind sock, all of that stuff. But I did hand over my camera to them so I had some pics for myself. I called my Dad when I got home that night and told him not to come up and watch me because I've never been so distracted by people in my life. It's like I have to prove something to them watching - and I've never been like that in my life. Luckily, Pops isn't too keen on watching anyway, so he said he understood. He does like to watch the video though. Does anyone else feel this way or is this a newbie thing??? Karen
  9. Testilie. Term "testi-lie". Always be kinder than you feel.
  10. Lovely! It's really dark here in Hammonton and now it's just a drizzle. I think the worst has passed us by.

    PM Sent

Oops. My bad. I just assumed the OP was like me and didn't notice the 'new message' message because it's so small (to me, anyway). A kind soul did PM me to tell me that it wasn't necessary to announce PMs sent on the thread. Please accept my sincere apology! Always be kinder than you feel.
  12. This is my 1st time to say....... This thread is pointless without pictures!! Always be kinder than you feel.
  13. LOL - Are we twins? I went to my DZ at noon, it was just starting to drizzle, but I wasn't expecting to jump. Ijust dropped off food for those who were there. I love to feed people. I should've stayed for a beer but a sinus headached was coming on. So, you gonna post a pic of these jeans? Always be kinder than you feel.
  14. Your turn is coming. CT, right? It is coming DOWN here, and it's very, very, very windy!!! Shocking! A tropical storn with wind. Duh. The pounding rain and wind on the side of my house woke me from my nap. Blah. Always be kinder than you feel.
  15. I've only solo jumped student rigs twice (so far), but when I see the canopy open, I've said, "Sweet!". When I get my own gear I'll probably name her "Sweet Bitch" or something like that. I had a while car that I called Whitey or Blanca. I have a black CR-V that I call the Gato Negro. Always be kinder than you feel.
  16. I work for the State Judiciary and have the utmost respect for the process and institution. I was just called for Jury Duty last month for the 3rd time in as many years. I never make it through voir dire because of my professional connections to the attorneys who are/used to be connected in some way (prosecutors, public defenders, etc.) of the munipal court where I used to be a Deputy Court Adminstrator, and I have tried to get excused because of work related projects, but it hasn't always worked in my favor. About 8-9 years ago I was picked for Grand Jury. Like you said, I think it was a few months of service, 1 day a week. My Judge tried to get me excused because we were a small court, medium caseload, but I still had to serve. And it was pretty moot that I was picked because I had to abstain from probably 80% of the cases because either I was the one who ISSUED the warrant or summons, my fiance was the complaining officer, my brother was the complaining officer, or I had knowledge that the defendant was a frequent flier. But you know what they say..... a Grand Jury will indict a ham sandwich. I know that's not true, but you may hear that a lot. Here's a way to look at it ---------- maybe you'll make some little hottie at your service. Good luck!
  17. PM for ya.... Always be kinder than you feel.
  18. I wish her well. She's probably an old pro at these storms, huh? Oops, I was wrong. I have one eye on the TV and other on my laptop. And now I look stupid(er)!!!! Always be kinder than you feel.
  19. I hear the rain pounding down now. It's going to be a crappy night. I hope anyone out in the bad weather takes care! It's a Tropical Storm Warning here (I'm in Atlantic County). I usually love the bad weather, but this one seems like it is going to dump a ton of rain and some high winds to go along with it. I didn't have much storm prep to do since I had my pool closed yesterday -- whew! I moved all of the patio furniture next to my house and put the cushions away so they won't get soaked. Other than that, I guess I'm good. And my cat always takes off to hide at the first crack of thunder. What's up with that??? Always be kinder than you feel.
  20. Oh, my beloved Key West. I flew out of EYW the morning Katrina skirted the island before it slammed into New Orleans. The plane ride from EYW to Tampa was the most terrifying flight of my life. Turbulence galore. We all thought we were dead. It fucking sucked. Godspeed everyone in this bastard's path. Always be kinder than you feel.
  21. Isn't that the truth!! Scary! My most recent ex-boyfriend has nekkid pics of us on the beach in Jamaica from our last few trips together. I would fuck his day up if he did anything public with them, but I have them, too. He's a cop so he would get in HUGE trouble if he fucked with me like that. Always be kinder than you feel.
  22. You're fine. It doesn't matter what they say. I'm 40 and I wear them all the time. In the summer it's the denim mini with flip flops and a cool, form fitting tshirt... sometimes even the Uggs if I'm walking down to check my mail (my poor neighbors!!) My favorite fall/winter outfit is a denim mini with my knee high black boots or brown boots and a tight turtleneck sweater. Sometimes I'll wear dark opaque tights, other times bare legs. It's all in the mindset. When you know you look hot and feel good about it, it totaly shows!! Now go show those little girls how a real woman rocks the mini !!! Always be kinder than you feel.
